Indulging at Hint of Soul was an absolute delight! From the moment we placed our order to the time we picked up our food, we were treated with warm hospitality. Pulling up to the pick-up location, you can smell the tantalizing aroma of home-cooked goodness. The fried chicken was perfectly seasoned, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, while the smothered chicken melted in your mouth with every bite. The meaty catfish was expertly seasoned and fried to perfection, and the collard greens were a flavorful homage to traditional Southern cuisine. But let's not forget the macaroni and cheese, creamy and rich, and the yams, sweet and savory in all the right ways. Lastly was the peach cobbler, not overly sweet with just the right amount of sauce.
Each dish was a testament to the chef's skill and dedication to authentic soul food flavors. Both the quality AND quantity of the food were A+. If you're craving a taste of comfort and nostalgia, look no further than this hidden gem! Chef Lynn did her thang!!!

I researched Soul Food restaurants in Phoenix before I arrived. This business functions as a “weekend pop up.” You can order online and schedule for carry out or delivery. Once their food is gone for the day, that’s all. So with that in mind, I ordered before business hours to have my order delivered.
I had the catfish and shrimp. Collards and macaroni and cheese. Everything was delicious and I did have my expectations met. The collards are savory and sweet, so you may not like that. The catfish and shrimp were perfectly cooked. The macaroni and cheese has 6 cheeses but was probably my least favorite item. It’s not bad, I just REALLY enjoyed the seafood and greens more. However, given the portion the prices are on the higher side. With tip and delivery it ran me $40. I did not get dessert. My delivery person contacted me when they were nearby and I met them outside. He was efficient. F
My order was exactly what I ordered and as described.
Give Hint of Soul a try.

I went on grand opening day right before they sold out and the service was great. The owner and her daughter were so kind and I'll always go back. The food on the other hand....AMAZING!!! Everything on my plate was well seasoned and tasted like something my grandma would make back home. My favorites were the peach cobbler and the Chicago sweet heat wings. I'd recommend that to anyone and this will be a regular spot for me every weekend.

Let’s start with this review will be honest stating the good the bad and the ugly. COSTUMER SERVICES was GREAATTT. I sent my bf to pick up the food and I heard the convo in the background. Now the food wasn’t so great. Everything was fresh though believe that, but the catfish could’ve been seasoned some more, the Mac and cheese uhm idk it was missing something can’t put my finger on it. Cornbread wasn’t really sweet, but the yams and greens hands down 10/10. The portions need to be bigger for $35 for sure . I got the 2 catfish plate now I did receive an extra piece of fish (gratitude). Also I asked for a side of gravy in the comments and didn’t get charged for it and I appreciate it a lot. Usually I would dispute the charge if I wasn’t satisfied, but costumer service is over everything and for that I’ll be back to try the wings lol 🤣

I wish I could give 5 stars but unfortunately my first experience wasn't what I was hoping for. I am big on reviews, seen all the good reviews so decided to give it a try. It took me 50 min to get from where I live to the location. I ordered online the 1 fish & shrimp dinner,
soul kajun pasta, 8 piece peach hennessy wings, & chicken dinner. The Chicken dinner included, fried chicken, candied sweets, 7 cheese baked mac, corn bread, & greens. My fiance had the fish & shrimp, he said it was pretty good. He tried the peach hennessy wings & said they were ok. He tried everything else but the candied sweets. Everything else to him was just ok. I had the chicken dinner & unfortunately the candied sweets had hair in it. Noticed the hair, as I picked it up it continued to come out the candied sweets. It was a long black strand of hair. This can throw off the whole appetite 😒. I still tried the other foods as I was super hungry & hadn't eaten anything all today. The hair is the major reason behind the rating. I understand this can happen & isn't the first time I have experienced this but with other fast food places. I still have to give my honest experience. The fried chicken was pretty good and well seasoned. The baked mac was ok, the kajun pasta was very good. The corn bread was pretty good, the greens were good and tasteful. The peach hennessy wings to me were just ok, maybe better if I had them right out the hot oil and into the sauce it probably would of been better. I had a long drive home so no fault of the establishment. The lady that handed us our food was very polite. The person I talk to on the phone was very polite. Lots of construction going on so it took some time to find. The parking area was ok for the type of non dine in option. Kinda felt a little ill a couple hours after consuming my meal. Headache, dizziness, another symptom that is tmi. Can't really take stars off for this because I am not sure if the food is the cause but at the same time thinking why am I experiencing this after eating the food. This was the only meal I had so just recording what I experienced couple hours after my meal. Hoping & praying it's not food poisoning. Overall good variety of food options. The amount for your money is average considering inflation & what foods cost now. Quality of food is ok minus the hair found in my candied sweets, that was thrown away. Good customer service experience for my first time visit. Wish the experience was better but no one is perfect & sometimes stuff happens. This is my experience & honest opinion. I would still recommend this business. Everyone will have their own opinion & no ones experience will be the same. Maybe if I decide to give it a 2nd try I can have a better experience & can then give a 5 star review.

The menu alone was tempting but actually tasting the food was worth the daydreaming about it. My first time ordering I got a seafood platter with one lobster clump, sausage, potatoes and corn. Everything was fresh, the garlic butter wasn’t bland, and trust me that one clump of crab legs is enough to keep you full. My second time ordering I got the Hennessy wings and I was impressed that even tho the wings were drowned in the sauce they were still crunchy! This food is definitely worth it and not bland like some places with good looking food but no flavor! Will definitely be ordering more.

Found out about them through Instagram!!! Definitely a must try! Peach Hennessy wings were good but just a little too sweet for me. However The Chicago wings were amazing, perfectly cooked/seasoned and complimented the 7cheese baked Mac so well. Will be returning to try out the rest of the menu🙏🏽💕
