Terrible customer service and the lady that worked there was super rude. Never been this disrespected before. Tall lady with short hair, the coffee was muddy and the food was cold.

Now this is the type of place I think of when I say that I want “breakfast food”. We stopped here to get a quick bite and this was amazing! Super generous portions and at a really affordable price!

Visiting the area and tried it this morning. The pancakes are, indeed, superb! It’s a matter of style. I personally detest thick, doughy pancakes. I prefer thinner ones with a nice “chew” (not chewy. This wonderfully fit the bill. I can’t remember ever having better ones of this style. I asked for the secret, but no dice. They also listen to your order and deliver, e.g. eggs scrambled soft were so, and crisp bacon was just that. Offering two styles of coffee (regular and dark roast) was a nice touch for a diner. Service was friendly and efficient, and we never had to ask for refills. My wife’s veggie scramble was loaded and scrumptious, and they cheerfully subbed tomatoes for hash browns. If we lived in the area, we’d be regulars here.

Hilda’s makes the BEST pancakes (yummmmm...plus blueberry pancakes) ANYWHERE! Best in Marin, best I’ve ever had! They are buttery with crispy edges, not fat and doughy like other places. They are one of three places in the Bay Area that I would trust with scrambled eggs, making them fluffy and moist if you ask for them “soft”. They stock sugar free syrup for those of us that need it. The staff is warm and fun and friendly and really cares. They are always dependable and should be #1 on this list....seriously.

This place is really understaff, there is one person for the entire restaurant in charge of hosting, serving, and payments!! Skip this place and enjoy your morning. I was there on a Saturday morning. I never got a coffee refill, I ordered a black tea and the server forgot it twice in 20 mins. When we asked what type of bread was in the breakfast sandwich, she replied "regular bread". I think the server was doing the best she could and I can't think of anyone who wouldn't be overwhelmed by the amount of work she was dealing with.

Really great food, strong coffee. They have a lot of unique menu items, eggs Benedict, scrambles, burgers. Sunday morning and we found an open table, so that was nice. Service could be better, a bit slow and we got no coffee refills! Would definitely go back.

The eggs are the best things in the world! I have came here every Sunday with my grandparents since I was 4, and we have became great friends with a waitress there! Hilda's is simply the best breakfast place in downtown San Anselmo!

This is a REAL diner, owned by the same family for years, and currently being run by the second and third generations of hard-working women. The food is fresh, well prepared, and well priced. San Anselmo would be a poorer place without Hilda's! Best pancakes, ever!!
