Positive: TRULY clean Handicapped bathroom,. Lead Staff well -mannered +helpful. Listed as '"Affordable " Hotel, it is worth the Rate. Near Freeway yet not 'noisy' at rear. Other guests were behaved /quiet. Nice 2 nights stay. Attentive housekeeping. , Negative: While Heritage has some beautifully furnished 'theme' rooms ,expect most Rms, to be smaller. MUST drive slowly onto the Hotel. Car-entrance intersects with speeding traffic exiting off Freeway., take caution entering .

The hotel was able to accommodate 3 of us at a later in the evening time slot and were able to add on an extra day without moving rooms. One of the three nights the room was cleaned. The carpet was sticky on bare feet. The parking was free which seems to be a bonus in the area. No breakfast except coffee. The daily rate was a bargain for the area. |We had an immediate repairman to attend to a shower problem which was so appreciated. |The bedding and towels were adequate and clean. Only one evening of the three was bit sketchy in that neighborhood. It seemed quiet at night for sleeping. Not much time was spent in the room for the day due to many activities nearby. Refrigerator was handy to have. One of the nights was hot in the room. It would not cool down. |Location to family made the location favorable. Thank you to the kind and conscientious employees.

This hotel is disgusting. I'm on my 3 night and I have killed about a dozen roaches. I never leave reviews but had I known this hotel has a roach problem, I would have never booked. The first night I bought a pizza. I had not even had one piece yet, I set it down on the desk and within 20 mins two roaches crawled across the box. I should have left then. Later that night another found its way into the shower with me. The following day my five year old was screaming because a roach was in the bathroom with her. Later that day screams again, behind me on the wall roach scurrying. Just minutes ago I'm sitting in the chair and a roach crawls across my arm. I'm done! I'm packing up, disinfecting my stuff and asking for another room or refund or something. I'v done nothing but clean and kill roaches this entire stay. In addition, website says breakfast. There is none. Water pressure sucks, and it's pretty loud with the freeway so close. The bed is really worn and the mattress is very soft, it's killing my back. I would never ever stay here again. I have nothing bad to say about the staff they all seemed to be present.

Positive: Good location for me not expensive, I expect what inside I agree. Negative: Very close to the highway you can hear the sound for the car. Sheet of the bed very bad. Old building , this is first time for me the hostel and front desk they told me we need one dollar for the electricity, i?m really surprising for this requested.

The place has seen better days! High crime area hard to sleep. Police or ambulances all night every night. They use acetone in cleaning the rooms it smells terrible! The maid left acetone in the room after cleaning. Some rooms have no water in the shower! Air conditioning works in some rooms. Each room has 1 chair unless you get a room with a leather chair most of the other cloth chairs are filthy and stained. The front desk people are usually dealing with criminals so they treat you like an inmate. The credit card machines work intermittently so plan to pay in cash. It’s just a cheap miserable option.

This place is just downright horrible!!! Stay away at all costs, this place seems to be the new location for the homeless and the drug addicts. From what I could tell and heard this hotel is mostly those getting the Housing Vouchers for homeless, which by itself is not the problem, it's they don't keep the problem tenants out. Most of the people staying here are into drugs (deals happening in the parking areas, literally) the areas outside of rooms smelled like urine, broken glass on the walkways and in the parking lot. The rooms were not kept up well smelled like smoke both weed and cigarettes. The area in itself (immediately around the hotel) was very uncomfortable to be in general. I grew up in El Cajon and was just visiting but after the first night I gave up my next 2 nights of payment and went and stayed at a different hotel because this hotel did not seem safe at all. The fact I gave up $185 just to leave and pay an additional $220 elsewhere should speak volumes. When told that I did not feel comfortable at the hotel and wanted to cancel the remainder of my stay I was told that I could get back 1 of my remaining 2 nights of costs but when I asked for them to refund the 1 night the MANAGER canceled processing the refund without explaining why. We had booked through expedia, expedia said they would talk to the hotel, the hotel refused to discuss with the rep and refused to reply to emails from expedia. Expedia offered us a $12.00 travel credit for our next booking. While I am upset about losing that much money I am fine losing it to get a safer, cleaner and better maintained hotel room for the remainder of my stay.

Roaches immediately. First tried to get switched to a different room in a different building but when I went to exchange my keys they said "Ma'am we are just going to issue you a refund" then asked for my ID.
When I asked for a receipt regarding the transaction they said to call the company I booked with about it. So I did for the second time (wasn't their fault) BUT now that I've wasted HOURS of my life and multiple trips to the room then back to my car.... I am told my refund will be issued in the next 30 DAYS!!! This was a decent place a few years ago! NOT ANYMORE! So upset and the room was for my daughter to have a good night sleep which isn't going to happen now.
