We stayed here for three nights while we were in Valdez. The building is a bit odd - the B&B occupies the top two floors, while the on bottom floor is Ernesto's Mexican Restaurant and a beauty salon. We would describe the place as being "different" - you had to take your shoes off before going upstairs so as not to get their carpet dirty. The rooms only had beds and a bathroom, and on the second floor was a living area with TV access and couches. There was also a kitchen, which brought along some confusion. Upon arrival, we were told all the guests had access to it, but the owner later told us it was for their use only. Huh? The rooms were nice - our room (6) on the third floor was spacious. The beds were comfortable, but made an extremely loud squeaking noise whenever you moved. We were kept up late the first night by other guests talking and laughing on the floor below us. And the B&B didn't have an elevator, so the guests staying on the third floor have to carry their luggage up two flights of stairs. However, in terms of value - not so good. For the accommodations we got, I would rather not pay $200 a night!! As another note, some other guests we spoke with did not at all enjoy their experience. They had at least three nights booked, and there was problems with their room. The bathroom fan did not work, and some lights didn't work either. They were looking for somewhere else to stay after the first night. On the plus side, however, we were given coupons to present at Ernesto's Mexican Restaurant for breakfast, and it was delicious! We would probably recommend the Head Hunters Inn to other guests.

We were originally booked into the motel next door to this place. It was an awful place, so we went to the Mexican restaurant next door to regroup. Lo and behold, there was a B & B on the 2 floors above the restaurant. We met the owner, Sukie. She showed us around, had 1 room left available and we snatched that up. Spent 3 days there. Our room was lovely and comfortable. I would definitely go back.

It doesn't look like much, in fact we almost missed it if not for Ernesto's Mexican restaurant which fills the ground floor. Our room was very large with three beds and was perfect for our family. It was much larger than a normal,hotel room so it was perfect. It was clean and functional but it was warm and muggy and we needed to have the fan on all the time. You do have to take your shoes off which wasn't a problem but it was on the top floor and that was a lot of luggage to carry up but a minor inconvenience. We never ate the free breakfast and didn't look like anyone else did because I never saw anyone there for breakfast. It served our purpose and I would stay there again providing I got the large room.

We spent three nights at this B&B while seeing the sites of Valdez. The staff was very friendly and the service and food in the restaurant was very good. Make sure you bring your house slippers because the managements requests that you not wear shoes on the carpet. The room consisted of a queen bed, dresser, nightstand and cable TV. The bathroom was attached and very clean with shampoo, conditioner and soap supplied. Also, there was a body lotion dispenser on the wall. Bring your own hair dryer. The window cover wasn't sufficient to stop the light from entering the room. The free WiFi worked very well. There is no designated parking for the B&B since it's on the floor above Ernesto's Mexican restaurant. It's not the Hilton, but it provides everything you need while you visit the sites Valdez has to offer.

Pros - large, clean room, cheapest place in town, really good breakfast. The staff in the restaurant downstairs (owned by the same folks) were great.||Cons - never saw owner again after checking in, including when I needed a hair dryer. It's Alaska, and Valdez is never warm. Being able to dry your hair is a must. The best room is on the top floor and there is no elevator so you have to schlep your stuff up two flights of stairs. Have to take your shoes off every time you go in and out. I saw several of the other rooms and they were very small. ||I had stayed there before many years ago and I did stay there again after seeing the prices of the other places in town. So if I go back, if I have a lot of cash I will probably stay somewhere else, but Alaska accommodations are kind of expensive in general so it is possible I would stay there again, but only if I could get the big room again on the top floor.

Made reservations for 2 rooms in March for 2 nights. Never received email confirmation so emailed in July to reconfirm August reservs. Talked to Joe who said he had bought the place a week ago. Promised to send confirmation. Called back a week later and asked again. Called back week later and finally got a confirmation from Sheyla. Our ferry was rescheduled from 1pm to 4pm so I emailed them 5 days in advance to alert that we would not be arriving til 10. Arrived on 8/15 at 10pm to find nobody there and a note on door for B&B people to check in at Mexican restaurant or beauty salon, both in the building. Neither was open! It was pouring rain so we stood parking lot and called 3 phone numbers we had for B&B. 1 was disconnected, one had full voicemail and not accepting message, another had no answer. Called phone numbers for restaurant and beauty salon, again reaching only vm. Finally had to start calling around for vacancies and got 2 rooms at Best Western. Emailed Headhunters to get an explanation but still haven't received an answer! Don't use this place if you expect responsible lodging!

When travelling through Valdez we stayed here one night. The Service was great compared for the price. Location was great near the main museum and walking distance to supermarket and the ferry point. They made us a special breakfast burrito to take on the early morning ferry.

I never had a so bad experience ! ||NO CLEAN. I was completly affraid to put me in the bed.||The toilettes were in the bedroom (no wall, no door) !||Smelling "curious" during the evening, and smelling mexican food during all the night !||NO WIFI, NO TV because they didn't pay it.||Absolutly NOTHING IN THE KITCHEN. ||Staff really not friendly. You're just here for give your money ! ||We had to leave soon the next day and they said, NO BREAKFAST. But....this is a B and B...! ||The PRICE IS SHAMEFUL !!
