This place is amazing! Everyone on staff is super friendly & helpful. They were at capacity (peak season) when we were there & the staff was still very accommodating. It’s a great place for families as there are many activities for children all day long. We were able to enjoy the adult only pool as well as the family pool & lagoon. The dolphin experience is on site & very accessible. So fun to see the dolphin interacting with the guests & trainers! I highly recommend Hawk Cay!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Hawks Cay Resort, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. From the stunning waterfront views to the relaxing atmosphere, everything about the resort was top-notch.

One of the highlights of my stay was the amazing service at the Tiki Bar. Jacob and Umut, the talented bartenders, really made the experience special. They were both friendly, attentive, and full of energy, ensuring that every drink was perfectly made and that every guest felt welcome. Whether it was a refreshing cocktail or a chilled beer, they had a knack for making it just right. Their warmth and professionalism definitely elevated my time at the resort.

The resort itself is a beautiful blend of relaxation and adventure. The pools are gorgeous, the rooms are spacious and comfortable, and there’s so much to do, whether you want to enjoy a water sport or simply unwind by the beach.

I can't recommend Hawks Cay Resort enough, especially if you're looking for a laid-back, yet luxurious vacation experience. And, of course, if you find yourself at the Tiki Bar, be sure to say hi to Jacob and Umut — they’ll make sure your time there is as enjoyable as possible!

This was my second visit, and my first was 10+ years ago. My impression this time is the same as my first: it's nice, but not as nice as the price might suggest. It's a gorgeous spot, no doubt. The grounds are well kept and the staff are nice. The newly opened Salt+Ash is an amazing restaurant that out classes the resort itself. It would be worth a day pass (if they offer it) just to experience that food and service. But even 10 years ago the resort itself seemed a little disorganized and not quite up to the 5-star standard. Construction quality is evidently sub-par in some areas, though the rooms are comfortable and well equipped. The bathroom sliding door - always a terrible design choice - was very difficult to open or close because it has not been maintained well enough to prevent that. Several of my associates said the same was true in their rooms. Also, it was difficult to get lunch if you didn't have at least 30 minutes to wait for the overpriced but average food offered. Maybe the presence of such an amazing restaurant on the property will make the whole place raise their standards. Still, with the location and positives, I can only take away one star.

We went there for a short getaway. The hotel itself was beautiful, the views are amazing. Our room seemed to be right where the workers came in the morning so it was really loud early in the morning. The food was amazing at Salt and Ash as was the service. Angler and Ale were also absolutely amazing. We had massages at the spa they were good but nobody told us gratuity was included which it was not with 500$. The drinks are extremely pricey and they don’t let you bring your own by the pool so if you want a drink at the pool then you are forced to pay 40$. They also advertise multiple pools and hot tubs there are 2 pools one just adult which I thought was cool. 3 hot tubs one was gross. One was broken and one gave my husband a chemical burn. I contacted the hotel with pictures and so far they have not done anything. We will not be back. How you guys have handled this is completely poor

My family of two boys (6, 8), as well as both sets of their grandparents, spent the better part of a week at Hawks Cay. My family stayed in a villa, which I would highly recommend - great kitchen area, washer/dryer, two bedrooms and plenty of space for the four of us. Grandparents stayed in the hotel area. All rooms were very clean upon arrival, although we all had to ask for housekeeping services and some needed attention to get hot water for their shower.

The kids loved the Coral Cay area with the soccer field, mini golf and quiet pool. The bigger main pool and lagoon amenities were nice, too. My kids were very content to swim and do onsite activities (as well as the Dolphin Experience $$) each day.

Grandparents had fewer options for onsite activities if they didn't want to be at the pool or play tennis or pickleball (or be with the kids). A car was necessary, as you can't walk anywhere in Marathon from the resort. I'd highly recommend ordering groceries in to save money, as dining at the resort can get expensive with a family.

Overall, we really liked our time there and plan to visit again!

If this review were based on the room only it would be ZERO stars, but the staff is amazing here.
Con’s: The rooms need serious updating and maintenance, we had 2 rooms in a row with filthy showers and sinks that would not drain.
Drinks are very expensive and mixed drinks were very weak. Our poolside patio had something dripping from above the entire time and by looks of the buildings everyone has the problem

Pros: The food was great here, ordered a different seafood every meal. The staff went above and beyond every time we needed anything. The location is pretty good, if you do a fishing charter they can pick you up within walking distance.

Overall, this is a beautiful resort with spectacular views and well maintained grounds. Unfortunately, there is no actual beach (which we knew coming in), but the lagoon still offered our kids some fun activities.

We booked a Sanctuary Villa and even called to confirm the reservation a few days prior, but as we were driving from the airport to the resort, they called us to let us know our Villa with a pool was no longer available due to a glitch in the booking system. They made amends and gave us credit and were able to move us to a smaller villa (Sunset Villa), but we were a little disappointed with the mixup.

Villas: For the price, these are definitely showing some wear and tear and had some things not working properly. While it was nice to have extra space, we felt disconnected from the resort due to the location of our villa and would choose a hotel room if we ever return as they look cleaner, more up-to-date, and have a better location to the main resort.

Food: The food was pretty good overall, we ate at Angler and Ale one night and also utilized the tiki grill a few times for lunch. We chose to go offsite most evenings for more variety. Wish they had an ice cream shop onsite.

Drinks: Extremely overpriced, inconsistent, and underwhelming.

Pools: Several pools to choose from, all of which were beautiful with very comfortable temperatures. We rarely had troubles finding a chair at the pools. While the main resort pool had the best views, we also enjoyed the Coral Pool, especially when it was windy as it is more closed in and secluded. Unfortunately the pools close at 6 PM even though there was still plenty of daylight remaining and it says they close at sunset.

Dolphin Experience: We did this and had a blast - one of the highlights of our trip.

Overall, we had a great trip with awesome memories. We are happy we tried this resort out.

Beautiful resort. Warm heated pools for the winter months. All the amenities you need. Lots of wild life to observe and awe over. We saw manatees and nurse sharks on the docks. Beautiful sun rise and sun set. Only downside is that there are very limited restaurants and things to do on the key. Need to travel 20 minutes north or 10 minutes south to find a good variety that won’t cost $200 for a family meal.
