Pool heater is busted. Went in anyways. Super cold and not fun for most.
Laundry machines were busted. No prob.

Staff was the best. Absolute kindest and caring. 6 stars!

Beginning with our entry, we were greeted with a smile. Our room was perfect, clean and well appointed. ||The facility was spotless! It's obvious the care and oversight given to this property.... well done!||It was a pleasure staying here in Smithfield and visiting this quaint little piece of history.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. I was disappointed with the breakfast. Years ago it was much better. Now you have paper plates and plastic utensils with few options. The hotel is rundown and needs some deep cleaning.

By far the nicest Hampton Inn I've ever stayed in. Always stop here in our way down to Hilton Head, SC. Very nice overall. Clean rooms, friendly staff and great breakfast. Will continue to be staying here in the future. Nicest motel ive ever come across along I-95.

I don't typically leave reviews, but I'm finally done with stay at this location. I travel to Smithfield, VA regularly for work and usually stay at this Hampton. However, over the last few years this hotel has just continued to go downhill. I would usually just shrug it off but each visit just gets worse and worse. Other Hamptons I visit are being updated and are at least clean. This location is worn down, dirty, and just not worth the money. For example, all the furniture in my room was broken in someway (hinges not working, drawers broken, etc.). The coffee maker's plug had the grounding pin snapped off, there was mold or mildew in the shower, stains all over the chair and carpets, and potentially blood on the walls? All and all even though this is close for work it's not worth it to stay here any longer. If you are in the area, stay at the Smithfield Station or even in Suffolk.

This was one of the worst experiences I have ever had at a Hilton property!|The exterior of the hotel and the lobby are good enough. However, when you get to the floors with the guests' rooms, the trouble begins. There is brand new carpet in the hallways, but the doors to the guest rooms are beat up and dirty looking. My guest room smelled horrible, was very dusty, food was in the arm chair, and the desk chair was down right nasty! The bathroom door had something nasty splashed all over it. It was a very uncomfortable night!

My hotel room was not cleaned properly. We found hair in the tub, hair on the shampoo pumping station, and old used soap in the soap dish in the bathroom from the last guest!!!!!

I legit almost washed my toddler in a dirty tub.

The lady at the front desk was super sweet and literally cleaned my bathroom. She deserves a raise and a lot of recognition.

The breakfast was awesome. That bathroom situation just ruined all the other great aspects of our stay.

Not many options in this area, so I'm glad this hotel was there. Hotel is tucked away off the main thoroughfare, and close to everything in town. Walking distance to grocery stores, retail stores, and restaurants. Upon 1st walking in, we were overwhelmed by the scent of smoke/smoke concealer fragrance. Not sure if they had just bombed or what, but it was STRONG. And it permeated everywhere ( room included). The smell dissipated by the next day. I stayed in a suite, and it was very spacious. Lots of room for a larger family...pull out sofabed & a separate kitchen area with mini fridge and microwave. One large TV in the center of the room. Some cons: loud/knocking AC/heat unit and the toilet would loudly knock and drain whenever other rooms would flush.

We also partook of the morning breakfast, which was the standard, good Hampton Inn breakfast.

And I have to give props to the staff!! Everyone was so pleasant and welcoming! Unfortunately, this is not the standard at all hotels. These ladies (and one gentleman) should give lessons to other establishments!!!
I have already recommended this hotel to the rest of my family for their future travels!
