Now they charge for parking.the breakfast has gone down hill. The staff at the front desk are very nice . They must be under new management. I stayed here before and loved them. As a diamond member and not really getting much in the USA . When you leave the country you get great breakfast and executive lounge with drinks and food.

When entering the room there is a smell that does not make the room smell clean. When we first stepped in it was muggy and smelled bad. We turned on AC and it did make noise when it turned on. The furniture was sticky and I wiped them down but still sticky until it wasn’t humid in the room. The carpeting feels disgusting should be torn out replaced with laminate flooring for easier cleaning. Updates on a few things would make this Hampton Inn more appealing. Also the fire alarm went off at midnight and they didn’t know why. A lot of people came down to front desk to find out what was going on. They didn’t know and the fire dept was coming and was calling alarm company. They shut off the system any had staff do safety checks on all floors through the night. I will not stay here again.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience at the Hampton Inn Garden City was so horrific that I feel compelled to warn others. This stay was an absolute disaster from start to finish, a blatant testament to the complete collapse of Hilton’s management and professionalism.||||Firstly, the front desk staff was a nightmare—rude, aggressive, and dismissive beyond belief. Their hostility turned every interaction into a mental toll, stripping away any semblance of hospitality. How a supposedly reputable brand like Hilton can allow such unprofessional conduct is beyond me. It was nothing short of disgusting and unacceptable.||||Then there are the faulty card reader systems. Over a two-day stay, I had to reprogram my key more than eight times. Repeatedly, my family, including my young son, got locked out—sometimes with him trapped in the hallway because the door simply refused to open. Security staff had to escort us back to the room multiple times. This isn’t just inconvenient; it’s a serious safety hazard. Hilton’s management clearly doesn’t care about basic security or functioning infrastructure.||||To make matters worse, the fire alarm blared nonstop for over 15 minutes—an unthinkable failure in safety protocols. The lights on the alarm were glaring and lacked covers, which triggered a seizure in my son who has epilepsy. We had to rush him to a doctor afterward, and despite promises from management to fix the issue, nothing was done. This recklessness could have resulted in tragedy. Hilton’s negligence in safeguarding its guests is mind-boggling.||||And for what? A so-called “relaxing” getaway that turned into pure chaos. The amenities either didn’t work at all or were completely dysfunctional. The staff’s hostility, combined with the safety hazards and broken facilities, rendered this stay utterly intolerable. I paid top dollar expecting comfort and relaxation—a complete lie. Hilton’s branding is a sham, and this hotel deserves no stars.||||I demand a full refund and will not hesitate to pursue further action if ignored. Hilton, this is an embarrassment to your brand. Failures on this scale show a shocking lack of management, professionalism, and basic human decency. Do not stay here unless you enjoy being disrespected, endangered, and completely abandoned as a guest.

I took a trip with my mom and sisters and stayed here for the weekend. It was a pleasant stay, the rooms were fairly clean, the staff were friendly and professional. Breakfast was from 6am to 10am. The food was great and most of the kitchen staff were wonderful. However, one lady in particular was very rude. Both days that we had breakfast, if anyone asks her (black lady with a cap) for anything, she tells you to go and ask someone else. She gives others a bad attitude as if she doesn’t want to be there. Like be thankful she has a job, even if you it’s a job she doesn’t like. At some point that was the job that she wanted so own it. But besides the unpleasant and unprofessional experience with that one staff, the others were great!

Disappointing First and Likely Last Stay at Hilton

We checked in late at night and unfortunately had to change rooms twice—though it really should have been three times. The first room had hair and false lashes in the shower, which was unacceptable. The second room had a leaking AC unit that left the carpet soaked and emitted a strong, unpleasant odor. By the time we were placed in a third room, we were too exhausted to move again, even though the bathroom sink was visibly damaged and had been poorly patched together.

While the staff was helpful and did their best to accommodate us, the overall experience fell far short of our expectations—especially for what’s considered a reputable brand. This was our first time staying at a Hilton, and unfortunately, it will likely be our last. We’ll stick with Marriott, where we consistently receive the service and quality we’ve come to rely on.

On a positive note, the hotel’s location was excellent—conveniently close to dining, shopping, and major highways. Sadly, that alone wasn’t enough to make up for the issues we encountered.

Stayed here recently and was extremely disappointed. The AC unit in our room barely worked it made noise like it was doing something, but the room never got cool. It was stuffy, humid, and completely uncomfortable, especially at night. We told the front desk, but their response was basically, “Yeah, some of them are like that.” No solution offered. They came to look guy told us that all rooms are set to 75° so unbelievable, no fan available no apology. Trying to sleep in a warm, sticky room after a long day of travel was awful. For the price we paid, I expected basic comfort, and working air conditioning should not be optional. Would not stay here again.

I am writing to express my deep disappointment regarding a recent experience at your hotel. After driving over eight hours to reach the property, we were shocked to be told by the front desk clerk that our reservation had been canceled by “someone” and that no rooms were available. Despite the fact that we were physically present, my credit card was charged $271.30 as a no-show fee.||To make matters worse, the manager falsely informed corporate that camera footage had been reviewed and that we were not seen on the premises. Unfortunately, this situation resulted in no resolution, as it became a matter of our word against theirs.||We have frequently chosen this hotel when visiting New York, but this incident was a major inconvenience and breach of trust. As a Hilton Honors member, I am extremely disappointed in how this was handled. Rest assured, I will not be staying at this property again. ||Freda
