The Hampton Inn Charleston-Southridge sits high on a hill, offering a quiet stay with a scenic mountain backdrop. Though a little outside Charleston proper, the location is convenient enough, with plenty of shopping and dining nearby.||The best part of the hotel is the rooms. They’re updated, clean, and well-designed, with plenty of counter space in the bathrooms and good desk setups. Outlets are plentiful, which is always a plus. Some Hamptons are a little nicer, but these rooms hold up well.||The rest of the hotel, though, shows its age. It has that familiar early 2000s Hampton wooden trim—kind of cozy, kind of outdated. Some areas could use a deeper clean or a refresh, though nothing was outright bad. It’s just clear that renovations haven’t reached every part of the building.||Breakfast is about what you’d expect—decent, with enough options to get the day started. The pool and patio area looked great, though we didn’t get a chance to use them. If they’re as nice as they seem, they’d be a real perk in warmer months.||One thing to note—the hotel was full. The parking lot stayed busy, and common areas had a steady stream of guests. Still, noise wasn’t a problem, and the room itself was quiet.||Overall, this Hampton does what it needs to do. The new rooms are a strong point, and the setting is peaceful. Some areas could use work, but it’s still a solid stay. Four stars.

This is a well maintained Hampton Inn, very near a large shopping mall, and within walking distance of a few restaurants. The front desk staff were all very welcoming and friendly. We stayed in Room 500, which was a quiet corner. The room was clean, and the bed was comfortable although furnishings were a tad worn out. Breakfast area was spotless and the coffee was really good. We traveled with our two dogs. There is a pet surcharge.

Stopped at this Hampton Inn traveling through from a business trip in South Carolina. It was a great location, close to many restaurants and stores. I travel extensively for work, family, and pleasure. I use Hilton almost exclusively when possible. I chose this location based on reviews and bypassed Beckley due to the reviews.

We came to the hotel and noticed that it was not as clean as we typically experience or require. We went up to our room in 324 and immediately noticed a moldy smell. The halls were dirty as was the elevator. All decor was very beat up and worn. We went down to the desk and the attendant was friendly and very apologetic and immediately gave us another room, 522. We went into this room and the room and bath also smelled moldy but was less so. There must be some kind of water breach or leaks. Not quite as bad, so we decided to stay and use our air purifier. By morning it was a bit better. We left about 10 am and there was dirt all the way through the elevator through the hallways.

As we left, we came through the lobby. The staff and the manager or regional manager was holding a staff meeting actually in the way for us to leave. We had to walk between the presenter (manager) and the staff sitting on or standing by the couches and on the concierge counter which was awkward. However, I do hand it to the manager, he was discussing that they have been dinged on many things in there hotel which was very evident.

It wasn't the worse hotel we ever stayed in. However, when you spend $140 a night, you expect not to be staying in a Motel 6. And you do expect The Hilton name to hold a different level of integrity and standards.

I have nothing but good things to say about this place. My family spent one night here on a week long vacation. It was clean, modern, and comfy. Out of the 3 hotels we stayed in during that week this was by and far our favorite. The pool area was awesome and my 5 year old loved that there was a Chuck E Cheese right across the parking lot. If we had to do it over again we would have planned so that we could have spent more time here.

This was by far the best hotel experience my family has ever had. The location was more than anyone could ask for, especially if you have kids of any age! The room was clean and HUGE, the shower was perfect, and each person could change the pressure to their liking. I asked my 7 year Olds what they rate it and they said, "9.9 because they need better drink options in the morning. The juice machine broke and that sucked." 🤣 (it was no big deal, and the breakfast attendant was immediately on it, and quickly saught out the maintence man to fix it when she couldn't. The staff was amazing both day and night, and the coffee bar was a definite plus! We will recommend this hotel to everyone we know, and can't wait to stay again! Oh, and the pool and hot tub are absolutely perfect! Definitely stay here!!!!

We found the front desk and breakfast staff to be super friendly and helpful. Our king size bed room (#600) was enormous and quiet, at the end of the hall. The bed was comfy, the air conditioner was not too loud and there was plenty of hot water. In the morning the breakfast was the usual Hampton Inn fare of both hot and cold options. There was plenty of parking. You can walk to several restaurants, located in the very same parking lot. Other restaurants and shopping are a short drive away. No reason to not stay here - great value.

This is the first one-star Google review I’ve ever written. Good luck accommodating travelers with pets. After a 9-hour drive, I found out that you can only bring two animals per room—and if you have more, you’re required to book an additional room. I found no mention of this policy on their official website or their Expedia listing. When we asked if there was any room for negotiation, the answer was a flat “no.” Great.
