We wanted a small/simple intimate wedding with only our immediate family and children. Seebert/Watoga has always shared a special place in our hearts; where we have went as children and began taking our children after we started a relationship together. It took no time for us to agree this is where we wanted to be and start our next chapter together. We contacted Melanie with questions regarding what we wanted. Without hesitation she was all for it. We rented 3 of the Greenbrier River Cabins for some of our family to stay and to have our special day on the river. Believe it or not, the weather cooperated even though it was on the cooler side. But this was a magical day with a beautiful back drop of our favorite place in WV. The cabins were very clean. Melanie was excellent and provided exceptional hospitality. She checked on us frequently to make sure we had everything we needed❤️ Thank you for helping us make our special day perfect with the perfect place ❤️

I used to stay at these cabins every year around the Fourth of July. And each year I would go ahead and reserve for the following year and sometimes for the fall as well.||Same as usual, I booked in advance. Even double checked with her in the spring for our July stay. All seemed well. I have her confirmation emails. ||We packed up for a five night stay which included our golden retriever, our kayaks and bikes on a trailer, all food for the stay, etc.. drove 3.5 hours to pull in to the cabin we rented having current occupants. We drove over to her house and she took ZERO responsibility for it. And actually blamed it on me even though I was showing her the emails. She and her family were drinking on the porch (it is private property they are certainly at liberty to do so) but we felt immediately threatened and left. Yes, we had to turn around and drive 3.5 hours home. ||She never made it right. I cannot trust her to get things straight. So take your own chances when renting. I personally will never rent from her again.||Most of the cabins are located right on the river which is very nice. She has advertised internet for years, there isn’t any. If it’s summer- take fans, the cabins don’t cool off at night like you’d think. Also hard to leave windows open at night with road noise- country people don’t typically drive quiet cars. The cleaning crew does an ok job, it’s a rural area and hard to find people to help. Cell service is next to none in our experience- you can prop your phone up in a window facing the river and get one bar. Or go to Horner’s Corner. The kitchen pans are all scratched up. I always took anything I would need for cooking meals. ||Ive stayed in almost every available property in this area since I was a child. She has a good location and the potential for a great property but unfortunately the owner isn’t great at keeping up what was left to her. If it had new ownership, I would consider it.

Love this place! We rented the River Shoals cabin which was perfect for the two of us. Screened in porch, river right out the door, and the bike trail out the back. Perfect. Quiet too! Bring water as the water in the area has a lot of iron in it. Everything was clean and comfy. Staying here saved our vacation as our first rental in a different area and different owners did not work out. It was so beautiful even though the weather was not perfect. Can't complain about a rain day on the porch watching herons and the fog rolling in. Thanks for a great time.

We loved our stay at the Woodshed! We were a party of two moms and two daughters and could not have found a more perfect location to spend Memorial Day weekend. The Greenbrier trail was right outside our door, the country store was a 5 minute walk away and the river was our backyard! We enjoyed biking the trail and hiking Watoga State Park during the day and coming back to enjoy s'mores and the fire pit at night. The girls also enjoyed renting tubes and playing in the water in the afternoon. We want to come back with our kayaks to enjoy a longer trip down the river and we will definitely be staying at the Greenbrier River cabins again!

For the most part we were pleased with the accommodations. This was a nice unit that had everything one needs for a enjoyable get-away. The river view and sounds on one side are delightful and relaxing. The Greenbrier Trail is just on the other side, with great rides in both directions. It was nice that we could just hop on our bikes and ride.||||We had an issue with the lack of advertised wifi (removed the week before because the carrier was so unreliable). The owners were very understanding and made it right for us. We WERE able to get access to some spotty wifi at the corner store a half mile away and better wifi at the coffee shop in Marlinton. We learned from various sources that internet service in Pocahontas County is like a third world country. Can't really blame the owners for that!||||We also had an issue with the water, as mentioned by another reviewer. It is nasty! You quickly discover that it is NOT drinkable. Even one of our dogs got sick from it. So, bring bottled water or get it at the nearby corner store. There seem to be some other sanitation issues on a neighbor building too, since we smelled their sewer towards the end of the week. Not too bad, but we were aware. It was near the end of the season, and there had been a lot of rain before, so maybe it was due for a pumping. ||||Overall, we would visit again. The owners seem to be good and conscientious people who made every effort to ensure we had a good experience.

We loved the cabin. It was very clean and comfortable. Nice screened-in porch. Fished all day. Just relaxed and enjoyed the scenery. Beautiful moonlit river at night while you enjoyed the fire pit. The only problems we had was that the water smelled like sulfur and internet was not accessible from our cabin. The water smell was horrible. So if you go there, be prepared to get bottled water. I just wish someone would have warned us about the water situation. Other than that we really enjoyed everything else.

We happened to stay here the night of the big downtown fire which went on for several days with the result the city water and thus to our rooms was cut off. ||||In order for us to stay, we requested water to be supplied for the toilets and to drink. We returned to find buckets of water for the toilet and bottled water to drink . The management offered to return our money if we wished but the place was charming and clean, if a littled dated, and we chose to stay. At that point, the restaurant closed for 2-3 days but the rooms were still available to us.||||The location on the Greenbriar River offers a great view and the restaurant food and staff were most satisfactory. The restaurant seemed to be a local hangout and everyone seemed to know each other which we found very nice and friendly.||t||I would return if the occasion ever arises.

My wife's family has rented several cabins a couple years in a row. It's a great place to take a large family. The cabins are clean and have all the basics in them. There is a country store with pizza, ice cream and all the basics for staying there. Its so peaceful and you can just spend the day watching the river or take a kayak, canoe or tubing trip. At night the fireflies lit up the mountainside and was cool to see. Highly recommend for the family. Make sure to stop and visit the Civil War battlefield at Droop Mtn or Beartown State park. Very cool!
