We spent three nights in the Green Apple room and enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere of this Victorian farmhouse. The delicious breakfasts featured produce and herbs from the owners' gardens. We loved spending time with the cats and hope to come back some day!

The Green Apple Inn is an EXPERIENCE. My husband and I stayed here last month. Highlights include conversation with Samantha in front of the wood-burning fireplace on the 1st floor, hot stone wrapped in a towel at the end of our bed to keep our feet warm at night, amazing breakfast the next morning of creme fraiche pancakes with from-the-garden apple topping, eggs with from-the-garden basil, and homemade grape juice!! We've never tasted anything like it. Samantha and her husband Len take sustainable living very seriously. It's very inspiring. We loved checking out the solar panels and garden in the backyard, as well as taking a few sips from the natural spring! Memorable experience to say the least. Though less than 2 hours from home, it felt like we were transported into another world. Highly recommended.

We drove up to the area to attend the Driftless Music Festival and happened upon this gem in the beautiful valleys outside La Farge, WI. Samantha and Len have done a tremendous job restoring their lovely brick Victorian to its former glory. The woodwork is gorgeous! We stayed in the Green Apple Room and enjoyed the antique furniture (fitted sink in a great old desk!) and the nice deck to enjoy the evening air and morning coffee. The grounds are tended to encourage wildlife and pollinators and we appreciated the veggie and herb garden which provided part of our delicious breakfast. A multi-course meal was served in the dining room and we were able to visit with the other guests and the owners as well; we had great conversation! We appreciated hearing all about where the tasty food had come from and appreciate their commitment to local, sustainable food. It was the best b&b stay we’ve had and we can’t wait to visit again sometime and sit in that new front porch in progress!

We were there to visit Mark Shephard's farm. The hostess Samantha was amazing. She truly cares about people and as a guest, went above and beyond to make sure my husband and I were comfortable. The breakfast we were served was incredible, I'm talking 5 star restaurant quality. After finding out why we were there we had some lovely conversations; she is such a generous and kind person. I would definitely love to go back there again, when pulling up it kind of reminds you of Green Gables; the scenery is gorgeous, and Samantha is a kindred spirit.

My wife and I met many years ago when we both lived in SW WI, and recently took a trip back to the area to visit old friends and old haunts. We happened upon this B&B in our search for lodging, and I am so glad we did. Samantha and Len were wonderful and gracious hosts-- we shared many interests. The property is beautiful, and the location served our needs perfectly. We stayed for 2 nights in the larger room with the attached deck and private bath. We enjoyed waking to the sounds of roosters and the views of mist and fog hanging in the valleys. Both breakfasts we enjoyed at the Inn were wonderful. We hope to return to see the fall colors in October.

The Green Apple proved to be a very relaxing and tasty respite during a busy weekend. The room we stayed in was comfortable, clean and restful. Breakfast each morning was fresh, organic, and oh so pleasing to the palate. Len and Samantha were very gracious hosts. It's places like Green Apple and the people who run them that make the Driftless region such a wonderful place to visit. One warning for guests from the city...the roosters will greet the sun each morning!

Expectation were exceeded on this beautiful homestead B and B. The farm house was like a step back in time. We were on a mother daughter week end. We booked the Green Apple room. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. We had our own private balcony. Each night we had a private show by the fireflies and bullfrogs. We were woken in morning by the rooster. Len and Samantha gave us a farm fresh breakfast each morning that words can not describe. Coffee was also outstanding. Any trip to Vernon county would not be complete without staying at the Green Apple Inn.

We had a wonderful time staying at the Green Apple Inn! We were there for two nights, and slept very well. The rooms were clean and well-appointed, and the beds were very comfortable. The house is very old (and charming), with completely up-to-date plumbing and electrical outlets, and reliable internet connectivity.||||The breakfasts were superb. Our hosts clearly enjoy cooking, and put a lot of effort into a tasty and well-presented meal.||||The rooster started crowing at an early hour, but we didn't mind at all. The rural surroundings of this property are so beautiful, and the night skies so clear and full of stars, that this was just another part of the ambience.
