"I was at the campground across the river here in 1980. This business as it is today was not but there was a sign at their entrance from the highway that said 'Alaska Nellie's Pontiac'. I took a picture and it was published in Alaska Magazine in the letters to the editor page. I rented a canoe at that location and paddled up the Moose River for the day. There was nothing next to the river. Now there's roads headed in every direction. Looks subdivisionish. Things have sure changed in nearly half a century. Pretty soon nothing will be empty. Five stars for 1980. Less now."

Wow. What an awesome place. I didn’t want to travel to Seward to fish but I was grateful that we did. The his area is so abundant in things to do and see and places to go and you are right in the midway of Homer and Seward and Soldotna is a very inexpensive place to shop and eat but the food at this resort and the views cannot be matched. We wouldn’t eat out because everything was made to order and the chef was incredible! Service was absolutely amazing and personal, lots of places to sit and relax or view the kenai river. Snacks and drinks available, 3 meals and appetizers as well as small
Gift shop. They provide fishing equipment and canoes. We caught salmon right at the resort. The only complaint is the housekeeping was very minimal. Could do so much better.

We had an amazing stay at Great Alaska Adventures in Sterling, AK. Traveling with 2 children - ages 12 and 14 - who love fishing and the outdoors. The accommodations are incredible and staff could not be more attentive and caring. Location was amazing for fishing right from the shores of the lodge. Grounds also comfortable for non-anglers with seating and an outdoor fireplace by the rivers edge. Appreciated hugely the chef preparing our salmon for us to enjoy. Our children also appreciated the kayaks and waders provided. Food is fantastic and very reasonable so plan all your meals right at the lodge. We will absolutely return!

We spent a perfect week at Great Alaska Adventures! The staff and owners not only provided us with a comfortable cabin on the shores of the Moose and Kenai Rivers, they provided all meals (including To-go boxes when we were off resort), booked our excursions, and gave us tips on what to do with our open time. Rodrigo, Chelsea & Rob went above expectations to make the stay exceptional for us and other guests. Lori & Catherine gave great advice with planning our excursions, car rental & answering all of our questions. We used the complimentary kayaks to paddle up the river and saw eagles and sand hill cranes. Perfect trip! Thank you Mark & Julie!

What a great adventure lodge!! The location is excellent for bank fishing for salmon. The lodge offers excursions for everything on Alaska's Kenai peninsula. It's not just a fishing lodge.

Service was personal, the food was great, and the experience was one in a lifetime.

My son and I spent 5 days fishing for salmon the first week of September. We had three different guides and all were great, very instructive and patient. Rooms were basic but clean and comfortable. Boats and equipment were excellent. Every one of the staff was friendly and helpful and the food was fantastic! We had beautiful weather the whole week. We went there to catch the biggest fish we had ever caught and we were not disappointed! The guides worked super hard for us and we caught Sockeye and Silver Salmon as well as Rainbow Trout! We had a great time with a very professional outfit. I'm already thinking of how I can do it again next year!

We spent several days at Bear Camp… I cannot say enough about Caprice, Steve, Ben, and the rest of the staff. They made us feel like old friends…|Traveling to and from camp was flawless…it was a bit of a wait to catch our transport back to Anchorage (but friends we made at bear camp offered to take us back with them and saved us hours of waiting).|The accommodations were just as we expected… simple but comfortable and welcoming. We especially loved the outdoor pavilions to sit and take in the scenery.|Steve and Ben made the daily outings fun, exciting, and full of bears.|My sole complaint… or maybe I should say suggestion… would be the food at camp..|The food was good and the chef did a excellent job… However, the general feeling was we left each meal feeling a little hungry… ie we needed more fuel for the walks and bear watching…. This is the only reason I didn’t give 5 stars.|All in all…. This was a wonderful experience that I would definitely recommend… and definitely myself so again.

Did my 3rd trip to Great Alaska in August and as usual it did not disappoint. Guides, food and all staff are obviously well trained quality employees. I was heartbroken when COVID closed them down last year as it was like missing a family reunion. I tried booking other resorts that did stay open and it soon became apparent nothing compared to Great Alaska Adventure Lodge. I'm anxiously awaiting my 2022 trip for fantastic meals, fishing and friends.
