The hotel's rooftop bar and coffee shop are popular spots to enjoy stunning views of the city skyline. Room amenities include clean rooms with great views, but some guests noted that the air conditioning didn't work well and the walls were thinner due to the building's age.
Location
The hotel is situated in a convenient location, close to many restaurants, public transportation, and the University of Washington campus.

Overall had a good experience. Staff was friendly. Rooftop bar and adjoining coffee shop were both great options. Room had a great view of the skyline, everything was clean, but it is an older building so A/C didn’t work great and walls were thinner. Hotel only offers valet parking, so finding close overnight parking that didn’t break the bank was a little challenging.
The location is great, close to a lot of restaurants, easy access to public transit, and close to UW campus.

The service from Joseph was amazing. However, the person in charge of letting us up to the rooftop was unprofessional. As I was sitting in then lobby, he was having a loud conversation and swearing a lot. It made the family sitting with me at the lobby uncomfortable.
The rooms were really cute and there’s lots of photo ops. I love the graduate theme. I’d definitely stay at another graduate. It’s a great place for young people. I enjoyed the college themes.
I read a lot of views about rooms being too hot. I didnt have an issue with that. I also read review about the draft when the windows are open. It didn’t bother me too much because what do you expect when you open a window? Not having a fridge and a microwave was a con.
I will say the reviews about the hotel being older are true. My front door would sometimes struggle to open. I had to yank it a few times. If you’re looking for a quiet stay, this may not be the best option. Walls are thin and lots of traffic going in and out. The surrounding area is busy. Great for someone who loves the city life, like myself. It’s also near lots of public transportations which i appreciated.

I need to preface this by saying that this was a family trip and I know that this hotel is not geared towards families, so my review may be unfair.
We decided to stay at the Graduate because we had been to the Nashville and Cincinnati locations and loved them. The Seattle hotel has an amazing location. Not just right next to campus but also steps away from the train. There is no way this hotel could be better situated. Rooms were surprisingly spacious, and I'm saying that given that we had three adults and a baby with a lot of accessories with us. There was lots of room to spread out besides on the bed. Service was good and responsive. Having the coffee shop in the lobby is a great perk. Also, we would have never gone to the Mountaineering Club without staying here and that was an unexpected hidden gem. This was similar to the Nashville location and felt like we'd stumbled into a speakeasy. -- I will also say on that note that I was pleasantly surprised that despite the loud restaurant, noise didn't really travel to the rooms. I could hear our neighbors occasionally, but it really wasn't that bad.
But, I wouldn't stay here again. Again, we are comparing to the Nashville and Cincinnati locations that appear to be brand new, even though they're not. The Seattle location is a much older building that doesn't appear to have had any renovations except in the lobby. I think they're going for a retro theme, and to bring that theme to light they just didn't change anything in the building. Literally, popcorn ceilings, original paint and bathroom tile from your elementary school. Because it's an older building, there is forced heating. We got a fan when we arrived, which was great, and were pleasantly surprised that we could open the windows to get cooler air in (we're in Chicago; tall buildings aren't allowed to have open windows here bc of the fire code). Because fixtures, floors, walls, etc. appear to be the originals (rather than something renovated and made to look retro), the hotel rooms come off as dingy and old. I think if we didn't have the expectations from the other locations, it would have been fine, but this one didn't live up to the rest of the brand except in its proximity to campus.

I was initially excited to stay at The Graduate by Hilton in Seattle. With its convenient location next to the campus and a reputation for being trendy, I had high hopes. Unfortunately, my stay fell far short of expectations.
The room lacked cool air, leaving it uncomfortably warm, and the water pressure was almost nonexistent. To make matters worse, the shower was missing basic amenities like soap and shampoo, and while the room itself was clean, the shower curtain was noticeably tattered.
When I called the front desk to request shampoo and conditioner, it took nearly seven minutes to get through, and I was then placed on hold for an additional two minutes while they checked availability. Although they promised to have the items waiting at the front desk, it was late—around 10 PM—so I asked if they could deliver them to my room. The delivery ended up taking an unreasonable 45 minutes.
For a hotel that prides itself on its stylish appearance, the service and comfort leave much to be desired. If you're seeking attentive service and comfortable accommodations, I recommend exploring other nearby options that offer far better value.

There were many issues with this hotel - I have stay in about 2 hotels per month and this is one of worst hotels in years. |1. Valet is $55 and no other parking options|2. Rug in room had likely been chewed on by a pet and had a one foot long area with yarn fraying and coming apart|3. Thermostat didn't work - tried to cool room and had to open windows|4. Put in a room that was handicap accessible and told it was an upgrade - shower pan is above floor height and has a 1 cm lip - cannot shower without flooding the bathroom|5. No towels hooks and no place for toiletries in bathroom. Only place to put supplied blow dryer is on floor - with the flooding there is dangerous risk of electric shock.|6. Text to ask how hotel stay is going and do not respond to your response that things aren't going well.|7. Cooler in coffee shop did not work so water and drinks were warm.|8. Friends ordered a refrigerator for their room that was never delivered.|9. Sent email encouraging me to check in before arrival and select my room to receive an electronic key. Went through this process and selected a room online - only to be told the hotel doesn't have electronic keys and room I selected had a guest in it. Then "upgraded" to handicap accessible room which was smaller than room selected.|10. Asked when departed how my stay was - when I said it was terrible and I had pictures - front desk clerk replied - "good." Did not ask how stay could be improved.

This is actually a very nice hotel, situated right in the heart of the U-District, across the street and caddy-corner to the Neptune Theatre. The double queen room was nice and the design motif is Art Deco style of the 1920s and 30s. The building is well-maintained, the staff is courteous and nice, and the valet was professional. I will stay here again!

Pros: Close to the university, great coffee house on first floor, nice places to sit and work, rooftop bar (was too cold, so we didn’t go,) reasonable price, eclectic decor.
Cons: Not great shower, toilet broke and waited hours for repair, so had to use a basement bathroom, no good coffee in room (instant,) no fridge, oddly slippery floor, could hear entire loud & long conversations of our neighbors through the bathroom vent!!

Heat would not adjust, either turn it off or the heat would blast out. Door would not lock. Twice we came back, entered room and found door was unlocked even after they “fixed” it. Building is older and the room was a bit small for a king but quaint and the decorations and color scheme was “interesting”. The bed was very comfortable and I liked how tall it was, easy to get out of. Because of heat issues I opened the window which allowed the late-Saturday-night street noise to filter in. I enjoy the sound of the city though. The room was clean & tidy. Only stayed there because of wedding party having several rooms there.
