FULL DISCLOSURE: I didn’t stay here. I have lived in Alabama all my life and have always been curious about this property since its inception. So while in the area, I visited. I’m sorry to say I was really disappointed in it. Just getting there is difficult. The neighboring properties on the road to get there are junky and run down mobile homes. I expected pristine immaculate kept roads and grounds, however the roads were in desperate need of a top coat and the sidewalks needed attention. When I got to the main lodge I was shocked at the state it was in. If I had booked a weekend and paid what they are asking and pulled in to see paint peeling and shutters falling apart I would’ve demanded a refund. I just don’t like the misrepresentation. Gothams Bluff could be a gem… and probably was back in the day… like I said… I didn’t STAY at the property. This is just from me passing through. I hope someone will come in and spend some money to make it shine again… sad.

Easy making contact with owners over a few issues. They immediately made the necessary corrections. Cool place though. Only real issues were with House keeping.

When we drove into the Gorham Bluff Resort, we thought we were in Paradise. The staff was incredible, devoted to making us feel special.

Our room, like all others, had a balcony with a table and chairs so we could sit and drink our coffee and take in the views. Our room was so romantic, the staff actually had the fireplace going for us when we arrived. The pillows, mattresses and even the robes were sumptuous. In the hall coffee and tea were available for guests, a mini kitchen for guest was on the first floor filled with cokes water, chilled candy bars, etc for us.

There is a beautiful new pool area, a vintage post office converted to a library for guest to use and a hiking trail along the bluff!

Photo shoots are numerous. A Pavilion overlooks the cliffs, perfect for a renewal of your vows.

Some building improvements were going on but I have to say we didn’t notice - it was so quite and peaceful.

We visited the BNB at Gorham’s Bluff and were mesmerized with the view, the setting, and the hospitality. The views are absolutely breathtaking. You feel like you have entered a scene from” Somewhere in Time.” This place is a hidden gem! Dawn and the entire staff were so warm and welcoming! Chef Decota outdid himself with the meal! Our filets were superb! The atmosphere was very romantic and absolutely lovely! We went to the top of the house balcony for sunset and it was stunning! We can’t wait to visit again!

My husband and I stayed here while we were in town for my dad’s funeral.This was the perfect place to rest and retreat. 5star service with excellent breakfast,lunch and dinner. They truly went above and beyond to accommodate us. It is so peaceful and serene here. I cannot wait to go back this year. If you are looking to reset, I cannot recommend a better getaway. The rooms are spacious and clean with a million dollar balcony view. Absolutely breathtaking. Also At night you can see so many stars!

Absolutely perfect retreat. So beautiful. The Lodge overlooks a gorgeous bluff. Views are incredible in every direction. Our room was amazing and so pretty. The bed was super comfortable. The cottages are adorable that dot the landscape before you arrive at the lodge. We ate every meal here and they were FABULOUS. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner were beyond delicious. Even the box lunch was super yummy with fried chicken tenders, potato salad, and a pasta salad. All of this with the chef’s unique twist to every menu item. Nothing was as expected and far surpassed expectations. I highly recommend Gorham’s Bluff for a little getaway and some relaxation time.

It pains me to give anything but a five star glowing review of Gorham’s Bluff lodge. Dawn, the innkeeper and deserves 10 stars… She is very kind, accommodating, and personable. The setting and views are spectacular. If you plan in advance, you can get breakfast lunch and dinner from the lodge restaurant. The food we had for dinner was fresh and tasty. ||We stayed in the lovely 2 story cottage, which was nicely appointed and in good shape on the inside with kitchen facilities, tvs and 2 bathrooms. What gives me hesitation to give it the best marks is that it looks like this spectacular vision of a place has fallen on hard times and is not maintaining the outside of the buildings like it should. I was at first chalking this up to Covid, but evidence shows that this has been going on for years. It main building and cottages need an infusion of money, pride, love and effort to pressure wash, scrape all the peeling paint off, re-paint most of the fences and much of the buildings. A visit there is still very special and I recommend going and walking around the charming neighborhood, enjoying the spectacular views and sunsets and getting away from it all for a long weekend.
