Gone Fishin Lodge was just south of the Kenai River Bridge, left at the light. Ralph and his partner Dick had planned out our adventure before we left home. Gave us a rundown of what was planned for our week and who we would be fishing with. Checked out rods and waders for us. Told us about his facilities and the breakfast room. Showed us the fish cleaning and processing facility and where our fish would be stored. You may fish in the river just below the lodge. Fish cleaning station and nets available by the water. Since there are several rooms in this lodge and more of us staying at the Edgewater, next door, there was not enough room for more than a||few fisherman at any one time in the water. The water depth is also close to the top of the hip waders they rent to you here. Perhaps better to bring your own chest waders. Overall we had a very positive experience with this outfitter.

We just returned from our 5th visit to Gone Fishing Lodge in Soldatna, Alaska. The owners Ralph and Dick are very welcoming and friendly and feel like family now. They work very hard to please everyone who stays with them. We stayed for 7 days and had 5 days of nonstop fishing from ocean fishing out of Seward to fly-outs over the Cook Inlet to Big River Lake, to fishing in the Kenai River to Halibut fishing our of Anchor Point in the Cook Inlet. We caught limits on salmon. Yellow eye, black rock fish and Halibut. If you like to fish this is the ultimate destination, and the scenery is also spectacular. Go see them, you will love it.

We had an unforgettable trip and stay here, amazing fishing, warm hospitality, organized trips, and LOTS of fish! The owners are knowledgeable and organized with our fishing trips and made our stay awesome. The fish was vacuum packed and ready for us. Book this place, you won’t regret it.

This fishing lodge was recommended to me by a friend and we decided to check it out. Ralph and Dick were great accommodating us for a short stay and helping us get into the salmon daily. The lodge sits directly on the Kenai river and they have a fishing pier that is only 50 steps away from the lodge. We had a great time flying out to a remote location and fishing as well as fishing locally within the Soldotna area. The lodge also has a complete fish processing center to vacuum pack and freeze your catches and have it ready for you to take with you on the airplane. Highly recommend if you are doing a fishing trip in Alaska.

I bought an “August Fly Fishing Special”a few years back for a group of four fisherman. On the first day of fly-out fishing, they told us that they were spin-fishing guides, and that we’d be going spin fishing that day. My group was standing their with our fly-rods, and had to argue to get what we paid for. Eventually they caved and honored the arrangement, but it was crummy. The rest of the trip was good.

Great lodge. Affordable and comfortable stay, right on the river bank. Place to clean fish right there by the lodge. Knowledgable guides that know how to keep it fun and up beat. Definitely recommend it.
