Dec. 14-21, 2024. Fabulous tour. The lodge was great, the guides, Gary and Jack, were fabulous as well as our Aurora guide, Kyle, who taught us a lot about the aurora. Activities were diverse and fun and interesting. We had looked forward to real dog sledding and had an amazing experience. We were fortunate enough to see auroras 5 of the 6 nights, including a dancing Aurora. This adventure ranks as well as tours we take with a large company. We would definitely travel with them again.

Gondwana Ecotours - Northern Lights provided a wonderful small group tour (15 people) with 2 very professional and experienced guides (Jack and David) during the day and an additional aurora expert (Melissa) each night. Each day was filled with fun and very different activities in the Fairbanks area, while the nights were devoted to aurora viewing (and we were not disappointed). Daytime activities included Chena Hot Springs and ice sculpture museum, curling, reindeer ranch, North Pole, frontier Fairbanks, antique car museum, dog sledding, frontier farm, shopping, natural history museum, and Alaska pipeline. We were very fortunate to be able to view the aurora just steps from our cabin on most nights, with, of course, a wake-up aurora call from Melissa. Lodging (Taste of Alaska) was very comfortable and meals were varied and delicious, both at the main lodge and several area restaurants. As the sun was setting on clear days, we were able to see Denali Mountain from the main lodge -- a distance of over 170 miles. Even the Gondwana bus was spacious, well heated, and very comfortable, with Jack and David providing interesting narratives about upcoming sights and tales of their personal experiences in Alaska. I would very highly recommend Gondwana Ecotours - Northern Lights to anyone who has viewing the aurora as a bucket list destination.

This was an amazing trip and it exceeded my expectations. Everyday was an incredible adventure with nature and what a changeable landscape Alaska is. Our leaders Jack and Bonnie went out of there way to make sure erything ran smoothly. Gondwana has incredible relationships with all the local folks (Heleicopter, boats, kayaks, seaplanes, bear guides) that makes the trip very special. I was traveling solo and always felt super comfortable and the group size was great. I can't wait to go on my next Gondwana Adventure!

I have recently returned from a trip to Alaska with Gondwana Ecotours, on their Glaciers & Grizzlies Adventure. Together with my friends, we decided against a cruise and chose Gondwana for their land travel. I am very pleased with the choice and strongly recommending this. The pace was right for everyone.
With land travel, I got to see more what’s on land, meaning closer touch to the community. Also, there is this excitement of chancing upon a moose crossing the road, etc. The package include boat ride where we got to see bald eagles, puffins, whales, etc. So there is really no missing out on the experience one gets from cruise.
The best part of the tour was doing the national park hike & getting up close with the brown bears. The guides were professional and we were amased how close we could get to the bears. The pleasant surprise I had on the tour was how the meals were arranged. I shan’t disclose so that it can be a surprise to you too. It was really great experience and I am in to sign on another package with Gondwana.

If you are on the fence about booking a tour with Gondwana, let this be your sign to DO IT! My family and I had the pleasure of experiencing the Glaciers and Grizzlies tour in Alaska in July. I was a bit skeptical about the “tour experience” since I enjoy planning my own trips, but I cannot recommend Gondwana Ecotours highly enough! They are committed to excellence and local connection. I felt less like a tourist and more like a welcomed guest in Alaska with incredible tours from small companies, outstanding food from restaurants and local vendors, and amazing staff throughout. This is an adventurous tour with fantastic experiences. You will not be disappointed!

I can't say enough great things about Gondwana as a company and their guided trips. Our recent trip to Argentina was our 3rd. We saw a lot of wildlife, visited and experienced many amazing places, from Iguazu Fallas, Buenos Aires, Mendoza wine country, and 2 locations in Patagonia. The hiking was amazing. The guides on this trip were the best. Dani and Amie always took care of everything to ensure our enjoyment of our time. Food was great, activities exemplary, even the other guests (16) were fun and we made new friends.
Previously we visited Alaska twice and we were thrilled with our experience. We have signed up for 2 more trips, Norway and another different Alaska trip. Go for it!

We just returned from the Denali Adventure Tour. What an amazing way to experience the natural beauty of Alaska. We had a small group of 10 led by Greg. This allowed us to become like family for a week. It also allows for some flexibility in the tour, like a side trip to see the TransAlaskan Pipeline when we mentioned an interest. Travelling is at its best when it is possible to interact at a local level without crowds of other tourists. Our guide, Greg, could not have been more personable, knowledgeable and fun.
Although it was possible to see only a very small portion of Alaska in the week allotted, we were able to immerse ourselves in the feel of a frontier state and view the natural beauty of a world that felt foreign to the Lower 48.
Thank you to everyone at Gonwanda who made this trip possible.

I just returned from the Glaciers and Grizzles tour. Trip of a lifetime. The guides Jack and Gary took great care of us, very knowledgeable and great at their jobs. We had awesome adventures, Helicopter ride to a glacier to mush dog sleds, Seaplane tour to Katmai National Park to get up close with the bears (I felt very safe with our two bear guides Arabella and Libby). Kayaking to get up close to the glacier and seals. Seaplane ride to a Lake with a picnic dinner with our personal chef Karl. Great small group adventure, the other travelers became family. I'm planning to try the Gorilla trekking in the future.
