The location was ideal, so close to the beach and downtown. The bed was super comfortable and the room was clean, we loved the towel swans! Good WiFi, TV option, and super hot water. Check in and out was simple and it was fun staying in a historic building. Breakfast is typical continental style but a nice plus in the mornings. Rooms have a fridge and microwave too! We would stay here again.

I had a great one-night stay in the Alexander room. The tub and water pressure were pristine. The room was clean and cozy. Breakfast in the morning was similar to a commercial hotel. The staff was kind and helpful. It was also affordable! Would absolutely stay again.

An incredible place to stay! This was my first trip to Seaside, OR. I loved the idea of staying in something non-commercial. Beautiful house, clean / comfortable rooms, excellent location! Will definitely choose to stay here anytime we are in the area!

Everything was lovely. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, decor was tasteful and reflective of the historical property. We didn't take advantage of all amenities inside, but thoroughly enjoyed the close proximity to downtown and the promenade. The weather was perfect with clear skies and a brisk frozen landscape each morning.

Our room was small (we choose that since it was only one night and it had everything we needed) also very clean and comfortable. Just the ideal for a quick getaway to the beach with husband and a son. The hotel itself is quiet and intimate which we loved. Also very close to the beach. Can’t wait to be back in July for a summer blast.

This place is amazing! It's literally a piece of History! You can learn about the history and stay in one of the actual rooms in the manor. Sophia at the front desk was amazing and she was so wonderful to explain the history as well as hook us up on the s'mores fire pit 🙂 thank you Sophia for a wonderful time! We can't wait to visit you again at the Gilbert inn!

It was a joy to stay in the Garrett Room at the top of Gilbert Inn. Very comfortable bed, pillows, and linens. Nice towels and fabulous shower head. Loved the fireplace/heater and mini fridge & microwave. It is worth the many steps up to the top level.|However——we were met with flippant comments and attitude at check-in by a gentleman at the desk who seemed like we were an inconvenience. Our room was ready and it was only 30 min before the 4pm check-in, so we asked for an early check-in because of our long drive. He said he would, but don’t count on it next time. The bathroom door had an extremely loud squeak. We asked him if he had any WD-40 or something that could fix it. He just looked at us and shrugged his shoulders. He never came up to do anything about it. We eventually put a little body oil on the hinges and that helped. The lotion bottle in the bathroom was empty. The bathroom night light did not work. The bedside light did not work. At breakfast there was not enough food for all the guests. (The food area needs a receptacle to pour liquids into as there is no sink.). We thought it ridiculous that there are chairs in the front sitting room that have signs on them that say do not sit in them. |We loved the house and its location. It was very clean (thanks to the cleaning staff). As we were going out I told the woman at the desk there was ice from the ice machine all over the floor in the foyer. She did nothing until I mentioned it a second time upon our return. Everyone we encountered acted as though they did not want to be there. There is no customer service and not even a pleasant hello when you arrive. Even when we handed in our keys upon departure all that was said was, “thanks, I needed those”.

We stayed in the Alexandre room and it was awesome. It was very clean and comfortable, and learning about the history of the building was a real highlight. We could hear other rooms using the plumbing (not sure if that's true in all rooms?) but everyone seemed respectful of that because it got quiet by 10ish and stayed quiet all night. Breakfast was self serve: eggs, sausage, biscuits, bagels, basic fruits, yogurt, coffee, orange juice, milk, and a waffle iron. There was a $25 dog fee, and my dog loved the stay too. An easy walk to the promenade, and like others have said, the parking was super convenient. Make sure you check in before the front desk staff leave for the night! The day we stayed that was 7pm. There's no self-check in option. If you're like me and had never stayed in a historic BnB, it was a really cool first! I highly recommend. 🙂
