Authentic and real. My wife and I have stayed at numerous BnBs all over the country and this has to be the most charming and nicest ever. The owners Sue & Bob, are warm and friendly. Sue is a 4th generation owner of the property and actually grew up in the house. In fact a portrait of her great great grand father, General John Boyd, hangs over the fireplace. All the wonderful antiques , pictures and memorabilia are true family heirlooms. Definitely take time to explore the house and grounds. Breakfast was delicious and filling. (The grand daughters were our servers) Sue is a GREAT cook. Her caramel butter balls are to die for. We stayed in the Rose Room. Cozy and sweet with a newly renovated bath just up the hall and very comfortable bed. We live less then an hour away and normally visit Lake Geneva a few times a year. This will now be our go to accommodations.

We were in town for a friend's wedding and decided we wanted to stay at a bed and breakfast. I am so happy that we picked this place because the whole experience was great. The home is historic and has a neat story behind it (ask Sue for details 🙂 ). We stayed in the Gardenview room, and it was very cozy. Bed was comfy, and we had a private bathroom. The breakfasts were AMAZING and huge. We didn't need to eat lunch the whole time during our stay! However, the absolute best thing about our stay was the hospitality Bob and Sue provided. They are the most wonderful people, and it felt like we were staying with family. In a world that seems to care less and less about customer service, they go above and beyond for their guests.

My husband and I stayed at General Boyd's for a couple nights and loved our stay. Our room, the Rose room was very clean and comfortable. The Rose room is the smallest room, but still has a nice private bath (bath just outside the room, not inside like the rest of their rooms). This bath was recently redone, and I think is the nicest and biggest. They have beautiful grounds, perfect for sitting and relaxing. The interior of the home is welcoming, clean and well decorated. The owners are very friendly and even drove one of the guest to a drop off spot so they can walk some of the Lake Geneva Trail and parked their car at the end of it so they have a way back. Breakfast was fantastic. While we stayed, breakfast consisted of loads of fresh fruit, scones, muffins, yogurt, granola and jam, then the hot course of pancakes, quiche, cinnamon applesauce, sausage, and bacon. I felt very full almost all day after this breakfast, but not heavy as everything is homemade and fresh. We walked downtown on the Lake Geneva path, about 2.5 miles just across the street and down the first road on the left. It was a great walk, but is not all paved or flat. You could easily drive downtown as well in only a few minutes, but parking downtown is difficult on weekends. Must less stressful to walk if you are in no hurry.

My wife and I had never been to a Bed and Breakfast before. We were not sure what to expect. Bob and Sue have set the bar very high. They were so incredibly helpful and friendly. Welcoming you into their home the moment you arrive. The home was filled with history and the grounds were amazing. There were all kinds of different gardens to explore. We stayed in the General's room with a King sized bed and private bath. The room was all you could ask for. The breakfast the next morning was unbelievable. Fresh muffins, fresh fruit plate after fruit plate, followed by the main course, coffee, tea, juice etc. They also were very accommodating to my wife's Gluten free diet. We will be returning with friends for sure!

This place is like visiting Grandma and Grandpas. Bob and Sue make you feel like family. The rooms are decorated so beautifully. Each one is unique and has a name that matches it's decor. They are filled with warm and comfortable furniture and lots of antiques and fresh flowers. It's like a page right out of a history book. The front and back yards are full of lush green trees and beautiful flowers everywhere. The backyard has a picnic table, lounge chairs and a fireplace. This is the place for plenty of peace and quiet, yet it is only minutes from the quaint town and resturants of Lake Geneva. The breakfast that Sue makes was so good, she is an excellent cook. It was a full course breakfast with fresh fruit and home made muffins, and a hot quiche with a strawberry shortcake just because SUE CAN!! We wish we could have stayed longer and will definatly go back again.

This is long overdue, but this bed and breakfast is quaint, sweet, and so welcoming. We stayed in the General's room and it was large and comfortable. Property was nice and we were able to roam around. We were made an incredible breakfast and spent time chatting with the property owners who are the kindest people you will ever meet. Loved our stay and would recommend this to anyone!

This was the first bed and breakfast I had stayed at. We took the room because everything else in Lake Geneva was booked of course. It was a quaint building and the fact that we arrived early did not seem to pose a problem. Bob greeted us and gave us a tour of the building. Although there was a bit of a musty smell the building was in good condition considering it's age. Our room had it's bathroom and we were surprised it had a little television. The bed was comfortable as well. We did not spend much time at the bed and breakfast but the breakfast was good and the other guests were a pleasure to speak with. Small world, the person I was with had worked years prior with another guest, The location was good too but was not walking distance to downtown but an easy drive.

We stayed in the Generals Room (king size bed). The property is beautiful and the owners are fantastic. Clean, well kept. Breakfast was AMAZING. We stayed in November (off season) and were the only people there. The owners are great people and have lived in the home for a LONG time (grew up there). We'd stay again absolutely!
