The three-bedroom private residences are gorgeous, with amazing views of the vineyards. The staff are genuinely friendly and helpful, and the location is perfect for visiting wineries in both St. Helena and Calistoga. Having Elusa Winery right on the property was such a treat—their Sauvignon Blanc is the best I’ve ever tasted. And Auro was truly outstanding. It absolutely lives up to its Michelin star. We’re already looking forward to our next visit.

I am truly a Four Seasons fan and have stayed in their Santa Barbara, Milan and my favorite of all time, The George V in Paris, but I've never stayed at a casita-concept designed from scratch Four Seasons property. ||We had a very large suite, which was flawlessly appointed. I literally could not think of one thing which was missing (OK, the minibar fridge could have been a bit larger in order to make it useful, waaaa). They truly thought of everything, down to the toilet paper holder that incorporates a shelf on which to rest your cell phone. Genius! ||There is simply not much worthy of complaint. High cost comes with the territory, but it was dear indeed, costing the same as our recent 10-day cruise, especially as the county and state levied taxes seemingly derived from a fever dream. The location, which is in adorable Calistoga, is not ideal for easy access to the major wineries (there is a winery on the property as well as a really decent restaurant called Truss). ||No pebble was out of place, nor a bush allowed to be bushy. Everything was spotless. Everyone was super polite, and honestly so. I'm pleased we tried it, but for me, it was too sterile for my taste.

A Bitter Disappointment at Four Seasons Napa Restaurant – The Staff’s Attitude Ruined the Experience

We’ve stayed at the Four Seasons Napa several times — in fact, we were just there a month ago and returned again, drawn by how much we loved the hotel. Unfortunately, this recent visit left us deeply disappointed, all because of our experience at the hotel’s only restaurant.

We made a brunch reservation for four and ordered appetizers along with Espresso Martinis. Right away, we noticed the glasses were unusually small — not what you’d expect for that type of cocktail — and within minutes, all of us agreed that the drinks were awful. Overly sweet, watery, and lacking both the coffee and alcohol balance you’d expect. It tasted like diluted syrup with melted ice.

When the server checked on us, I politely mentioned that the cocktail tasted nothing like what we’d had here before. She was kind, apologized, and offered to replace them. We accepted. A few minutes later, we saw the manager switch out the bartender and personally remake the drinks. The second round was significantly better, and we appreciated the effort.

But when the check came, the original (poorly made) cocktails were still listed. I politely asked why, and the server said, “Well, you drank it.” I asked to speak to the manager. He approached with a tight smile and informed me that they must charge for any drink that was consumed, regardless of quality or replacement. His tone and expression made it clear that he didn’t believe us — as if we were trying to scam a free drink.

At that point, our entire mood was ruined. We were shocked and embarrassed, made to feel uncomfortable and disrespected over something that should have been handled with basic hospitality and grace. We weren’t looking for a handout — we were looking for professionalism and the kind of guest experience the Four Seasons brand is supposed to stand for.

This incident left such a bad impression that, despite how much I truly love the hotel, I will never return to this restaurant again. Ever. It’s not even about the cocktail — it’s about the way we were treated.

One manager’s poor attitude reflected not only on the restaurant but on the entire property. And that’s a shame, because this was a place we once considered a favorite.

Stayed in this resort with my wife and we had a nice time. The villa was large and luxurious, the service was great, and the food was mostly good. Very pet-friendly and there was no pet fee. The resort property was good but does not have anything spectacular other than the small sections of vineyards. However, the villa was superb inside to compensate that part. Overall, its a nice property and we would visit again.

Beautiful location! The grounds were pristine. Loved watching the sunrises and sunsets from different places on the property. ||Our room was spacious, well appointed, and had a comfortable bed. I especially enjoyed the deep bathtub for a relaxing soak. ||The staff was both friendly and efficient. They promptly took care of our needs. Every detail was carefully executed.

We recently returned from the Four Seasons Napa where we had an excellent stay. One thing to know for those who aren't familiar with Napa Valley - this hotel is located fairly far north in the town of Calistoga. It just means there is extra travel time if coming from the San Francisco area. Our room was a Vineyard View one bedroom suite - and it was a very nice, spacious suite. We like suites we can hang out in and this fit the bill. Most of the units there seem to have nice views of the vineyards and/or foothills. There was a large outdoor balcony, but it wasn't particularly usable given the weather. I wish they had put fire pits on the balconies to make them more usable year-round. But the suite was nice enough it didn't really matter. There are two restaurants - Auro and Truss. One disappointment was that staying at the hotel didn't provide any help with getting a reservation at Auro which has one Michelin star. However, we had some good meals at Truss, including very nice breakfasts. There is also a coffee bar tucked in the back of Truss - easy to miss, but a good option if you just want morning coffee. I found the fitness center to be rather dark - not the kind of center that inspires me to workout there. However, that's minor. In general, the suites are really nice, housekeeping did a good job and the staff members are responsive and helpful. I expect to return.

Me and my wife celebrated anniversary here. Everything was amazing, the room, the service, the location. The hotel was fully booked but we felt like we was the only one in the hotel! Perfect for couples. Thank you for a great experience!

My family of 5 including 2 young children had the most delightful Christmas vacation at the Four Seasons Napa Valley. We booked the 3 Bedroom Villa Suite with a private pool for 9 nights and our winter holiday was nothing short of magical and perfect.

This property is very new, having opened only a couple of years ago. Our guide at the onsite Thomas Rivers Brown winery, Elusa, mentioned that the property was a vineyard prior to 8 years of renovation. It is clear that a lot of thought and careful planning went into this resort. As such, all of the fixtures and aesthetics of the rooms feel brand new, modern and stylish.

As repeat clients of the Four Seasons brand, we found that this property lived up to its excellent reputation for service first and foremost. We have never found a Four Seasons property to feel outdated and anything less of luxurious, but this property exceeded my expectations. We felt that we were given the super VIP experience, and that is what gives paying the hefty bill the satisfaction that it is all worth it; Everyone addressed me by name and all of my requests were answered in less than a few minutes.

Particularly memorable are the front desk manager Franz Hildebrandt who works almost 24/7 to ensure our most attentive care, the executive pastry chef Celine Plano (who gave my young son the most beautiful 1-on-1 private Christmas-cookie decorating experience, baked us 3 chocolate-orange brioche loafs, and had for display in the restaurant a Christmas themed cake that our son asked to look at up close every morning at breakfast), the sommelier Derek Stevenson who gave us the perfect wine accompaniments to our michelin starred dinner at Auro, and even the valet staff who are so friendly and charming.

Speaking of which, the tasting menu at Auro was simply a delight to the senses. We had the Chef's Table seats and it's always cool getting to watch the chefs work (and by the way, you always see someone in the kitchen by 5:00 AM getting started for the day). We have had 3-michelin-starred meals that we have enjoyed less than our meal at Auro; at the end of the day, what matters is that the food tastes good, and the palate at Auro is quite the delight for one's taste buds.

Wine country is not the most kid friendly; most of the wineries require that any visitors are 21+; and so an amazing amenity is that kids 5-12 get to visit the kids club. It is actually very well stocked with toys, games and movies to keep the little ones engaged for many hours. My kids kept asking to go back! They have many options for suites and connections to make the experience easier. This was very helpful for my husband and I in getting some alone time away from the kids.

What else can I say? The massages we got were lovely, the 2 pools and hot tub were awesome, housekeeping service was prompt, I could go on and on. For the family who works hard and looks to vacation hard, this is the place for you.
