I paid $380 for the bed and brew package that comes with 2 beers. I was happy to see there was a beer in the fridge. Uncertain if I'm supposed to ask for the second or get it from the bar. The rooms are tidy and comfortable, though a bit dated with two behemoth window unit air conditioners connected via wall thermostat. There is a small heated indoor pool and a gym that is ideal for basic and self driven workouts, which worked perfectly for me. My bed was unbelievably comfortable, and I slept great. It was very quiet. No continental breakfast, but I was able to charge breakfast to my room, and my son and I ate waffles and biscuits for a reasonable $13. I've paid more for less and less for more. What I got here was location and airport transportation. I am within walking distance of everything I could want to see here. The town center is close by, amphitheater, pies and pints... and from the looks of it, the business center would be ideal, although I had no use for it today.

I wish I could post a better review! First, yes, there is a free shuttle from the airport and within 5 miles of the hotel upon request. ||The location is lovely - just next to the riverfront park and with nice views of the city on the other side. The staff is truly helpful and kind, as well. The attached sports bar is a nice addition.|| Our room seemed nice - clean, mini fridge, great view, etc. - ||BUT, the shower/tub was VERY slick. The first morning, my one foot slid, - slight Bruise. NBD, I forgot about it until the next morning when I did the full contact slip body-twisting hard fall. Nothing broken, but multiple bruises and wrenched body parts. ||As we checked out shortly afterward, I told the desk clerk about this safety hazard. She said THEY KNEW about this hazard & planned to fix it in future renovations. She apologized for my experience, but NEVER asked if I was ok, nor was there an offer of medical help. Nothing. They knew. Wow. ||So. they apparently have bathmats for those in the know. Ask for one.|

On Friday, January 3, 2025 we were passing through Charleston but decided to stay for the night. Found FPS to be good price and location. Had trouble connecting to the wifi, had to get help at the front desk. Wanted to have dinner, but couldn't find the bar & grill they said was here at the hotel...back to the front desk again. Found it, but there are no signs directing the way there. For others wanting to stay here and dine, it is way in the back down a long hall with rooms on both sides. At the end of the hall, are glass doors that look like they go outside, but it is the entry to the bar and grill. ||The room (#618) was okay, with a view of the Kanawha River. Clean room, nice towels, comfy bed, quiet at night except for the freight train that goes by early, but it is on the opposite side of the river so not too loud. Parking here is free in a multi-level ramp that is attached to the hotel with its own elevator. Be aware, breakfast is available, but not free. You have to wait to be seated, and you order off the menu, service is very slow. I had the biscuits and gravy, tasteless, bland. I would recommend going elsewhere for breakfast if staying here.

We went to this hotel because we were meeting someone in the city. Our experience was super short of what should have been, based on the ratings of this hotel!

Our FIRST ROOM had hairs ALL over the bathroom (see pictures). There were hairs in the bed as well. The SECOND ROOM we got had a sock in it, but it seemed more clean and we were just over moving things. The phone system was down, so we had to go to the lobby and deal with things. They did NOT allow us to keep our key to the current room, so we literally had to shift everything one load at a time to make sure one of us stayed at the room to keep the door open.

I would never go back here! They also quoted one rate, charged another rate, and then we asked for our discount (we are both military), they literally had a higher rate that they discounted. SICK!

Find another place to stay! The front desk said there was never (and we checked 4 different times) and manager we could talk to, nor did they offer ANY COMPENSATION for the room quality (or should I say gross lack of). It is sad when you are willing to throw away a dirty sock in your room and "settle" for something that costs over $190/night!

The room was very clean and roomy. Hotel staff were polite. We stayed in a king suite and the bedroom was a decent size along with the bathroom. The bed was comfortable too. The downstairs restaurant “recovery sports bar and grille” was a good and convenient place to eat while staying at this hotel. They had great food as well. I will be staying here again in the future. Highly recommend to anyone.

To call this a hotel Sheraton should be a joke and I am suprised Marriott has its name associated with it. It is extremely dated, window units for HVAC let ever sound from the highway outside in the room. The bedding was cheap to say the best. The blanket was paper thin and the pillows were as about as cheap as you can buy. Overall the hotel doesn't match the photos online it's extremely dated. Definitely not what I would expect for nearly a $200 a night hotel. I've seen better from $65 a night off brand hotels.

The rooms are just ok. They are definitely dated and the windows let almost all sound in. I'm on the 5th floor and can clearly hear a conversation going on outside.

The bar is nice and there are several others within walking distance. My wife loved the showers and the beds are comfortable.

Location is the only thing going for this place. Located conveniently on the edge of downtown Charleston overlooking the river.

Stayed 9 days, and my room was only cleaned 1x, AFTER I had to ask specifically for it to be done, on the 2nd to last day of my stay.

3 of the 5 lamps in my room were not functioning, so maneuvering around in the dark was a problem as, of course, the most convenient to reach lamps didn't work when attempting to turn them on.

The room walls are paper thin. You hear literally everything. Every conversation, every tv show someone is watching. Everyone even just walking down the hallway. You hear it all!!!

Hours are posted in the hall as 10pm to 6am are quiet hours, but when the weekend arrived, people were literally running down the halls screaming at 1am.

The air conditioner/heater in my room was so loud that when it kicked on, approximately every 15 minutes or so, it sounded like you have a train engine in the room and this is maybe 5ft from the bed. So, good luck sleeping thru the night.

The TV is literally cable but 100 channels with no guide and no bonvoy TV, so don't plan on having any info for entertainment if you're in the room for any period long enough to turn it on. But since the air conditioner is so loud and goes off, so frequently. Good luck hearing anything on the TV anyway. I had to have the TV on a volume of 30+ when the air kicks on, which maybe, this could also be why I hear everyone else's TV shows thru the walls. They have the same issue.

My room looked out over the river, and that was a nice view to have, but it also looks out over the main street that is heavily trafficked every day all day. Every car that drives by. You hear it. The train tracks are across the river. Anytime if passes, its horn goes off. You hear it. My room also overlooked the amphitheater stage, and so when a concert is going on, you will not sleep for days as the sounds reverberate thru to your soul. And of course those planned concerts don't end early and people don't leave when it ends anyway.

The noise levels of this hotel are off the charts. Do NOT come here hoping for a peaceful stay.

The parking you pay for gives you keycard access into the garage behind the hotel. However, your key will only work on day one, and after that, expect to have to call EVERY time you want access in or out. HIGHLY FRUSTRATING!

I am a member of the bonvoy marriott program, and my preference is not to be near the elevator. My room is the first room from the elevator. These are the simple things that can be controlled that were overlooked upon my stay. The place is not busy or sold out. There is no reason I am in this exact room other than lack of planning and paying attention to customer details and requests.

Overall, this is not a place I will ever stay again. I have to visit Charleston for business regularly. I have stayed here 2x now, and both times have been unimaginably horrible. 9 days here has been absolute torture!

Do better, marriott. Do better.
