Absolutely, positively the most gracious and friendly hostess providing a very charming, comfortable and accommodating cottage. The neighborhood it sits in is beautiful and very peaceful. Church bells chime every hour and then at 7 pm it ends with a medley of hymns. Sit on the back porch all you hear are birds singing, Church bells and crickets chirping. Our stay here has convinced us the residents of Quitman are the most generous kind people we've ever met. We plan to come back soon, Carole and the Fleming House Cottage will definitely be our first stop.
Oh and I must not forget to give praise to the delicious blueberry muffins on the counter & farm fresh eggs lovingly placed in the fridge with all the other fixin's for a fine breakfast! Thank you, Carole!

And oh, the breakfast! Carole, the gracious hostess, conjures magic in her cozy kitchen. Her organic, cage-free eggs—when available—are a symphony of flavor, a sunrise on a plate. As you sip your coffee, the world outside fades away, and you become part of the tapestry woven by generations past.

Outside, the quiet neighborhood street cradles the cottage, shielding it from the hustle of life. Anchusa State Park and Clarkco State Park beckon, promising trails through ancient forests and glimpses of forgotten beauty. And for those who seek to honor history, the Confederate Cemetery stands as a silent sentinel, its moss-covered stones whispering tales of valor and sacrifice.

Meridian, a mere 25 minutes away, hums with life—a vibrant melody of culture and commerce. And Laurel, made famous by HGTV’s “Hometown,” lies just 40 minutes distant, its streets lined with stories waiting to be discovered.

As the sun sets, casting long shadows across the porch, I find myself reluctant to leave. The quietude, the warmth, the gentle embrace of Fleming House Cottage—it lingers, like a cherished memory etched into the heart.

What an adorable, comfortable, and cozy cottage; the best home away from home I have experienced in my travels! Carole added such a personalize touch to the cottage that I felt right at home. The muffins,
orange juice and eggs allowed us to enjoy breakfast on the back patio without having to leave the house! The bed was very comfortable. This was a 5 star experience and I look forward to staying there the next time we visit the area. Thanks Carole!

We came to Mississippi because my husband plays in a band and was going to be playing at the cowboy church. We got to Meridian thinking we would just get a hotel room upon arrival. Every Hotel was sold out. Miss Carol helped us out on short notice. We will be forever grateful. This was the shining light for us. What a sweet adorable little cottage. We rested so good! I reserved a one night stay at the cottage for my Aunt and Uncle to spend their wedding night before moving on to another destination. Carole was so nice and added special touches for them and they've decided to spend their entire honeymoon there! Thank you Carole for taking care of them!!! God bless you!!!

We were going to MS for a birthday party and I found this house that is very close to Clarkco Park. Carole is a very nice host. This cottage is so cozy and was just perfect for my family. The decorations on the house was just perfect! It made me fee like I could really live there. I can't wait to come back to this place.

We absolutely love coming to stay at “The Cottage” as my 4 year old calls it. We come every year for a family event and we always love it. Carole always takes such wonderful care of us. There are always fresh farm eggs, a homemade dessert (this time it was banana nut bread), homemade jam and chocolates on our pillows. She has everything you could think of needing! We went to the store and bought food to make dinner and she had every bit of cookware you could possibly need. It’s so quaint and cozy.
