If you enjoy coffee you need to visit First Avenue Coffee.

I am particularly drawn to the pour over options as it allows me to try coffee that I would not normally be drinking. The menu board has a wide variety of options for you to try. The nitro cold brew is amazing.

The staff is always friendly and efficient. The food is solid. If you are looking for gluten free, vegan, or vegetarian options they have you covered.

The space is open and bright with abundant seating. The upper mezzanine is a great place to enjoy. coffee and read or have a quiet conversation. The rotating artwork brings something new each time I visit from out of town.

Spokane you are lucky to have First Avenue Coffee!

1st Ave is a charming coffee shop nestled in the heart of downtown Spokane. I meet with fellow artists here for a weekly creation session. Whether you're attending a meeting or catching up with friends, I highly recommend this wonderful coffee shop.

They also have a few delicious fresh vegan treats daily.

My wife and I spent a week in Spokane. We were very fortunate to find First Avenue Coffee early in our stay. I have reviewed coffee shops in countries along the Danube River. They were delightful but First Avenue Coffee stands out as a great specialty coffee shop with excellent in-house pastries, quality baristas, and a comfortable atmosphere.

I seek out specialty coffee shops because that’s what I drink at home. Whether you prefer pour overs, drip, or espresso based drinks, First Avenue has got you covered. Tea drinker? A very good selection of teas for you. They also have a wide range of vegan pastries too.

If you are in Spokane or traveling there, go to First Avenue early in your visit. I bet you’ll return again for another excellent experience before you leave town.

I don't know where to begin. Typically, I'll review a place after I leave, but I couldn't wait in case someone was on the fence deciding if they should come here or not. Please, definitely put this shop on your list of coffee shops to visit. The staff are very knowledgeable, friendly and fast. I asked for a recommendation on my drink, and it did not disappoint. Very delicious!! I also got the coconut macaroon and cheddar and chive biscuit. Um... what kind of magic is going on in the kitchen to put an egg in the middle of the biscuit? It is absolutely mouthwatering and by far the best biscuit I have ever eaten. I can not say enough good things about my experience, and I truly hope everyone gives this shop a try and falls in love as much as I have.

The bakers were out sick so I didn’t get to try the waffles 🥹(really wanted waffles). Service was excellent. Espresso was just too bright for my tastes although I realize that’s a trend. Very cool space.

Nice specialty coffee shop. Beautiful automatic pour over machines - amusing to behold! Had a natural Ethiopian and an Ethiopian-Colombian blend. Was ok, but no more than that. The cups lacked clarity and brightness for me, didn’t have enough character, felt somewhat generic and somewhat roasty - both had that kind of sunflower seeds taste layer kind of thing that felt like it’s a reflection of overroast. Nonetheless, there was some kind of aftertaste.

Had a great Colombian cortado though! Next time I am here, I’d go straight for an espresso drink and maybe some bite.

The cappuccino is pretty good, the espresso they use is not what I’m used to in a cappuccino — tastes bright with fruity notes.

I also got the vanilla maple glazed pecan donut but I found it to be too dry 🥲 taste wasn’t too bad
