Great little shop for incredible breads and pastries. My husband opted for the Alaska berry scone which was huge and flavorful. I opted for a couple Parisian Macaroons. Once at room temperature, they were amazing!

Prompt service and an incredible staff making everything right there!!

We visited this place on our way to Seward and what a great place discovered. Here is the summary of our experience at this bakery heaven:

1. Ambiance 5/5: This place was brimming with people and you can clearly see employees baking hundreds of fresh breads, scones, and everything drool-worthy. The place has a great vibe and was very busy

2. Service 5/5: Even though the place was crowded and superbusy , the counter person was friendly and the service was fast.

3. Food 5/5: We ordered a lot of food and bread - some of which I do not remember now but one thing is for sure - if you are looking for freshly baked items with great and unforgettable taste, then this is the place to be in. For breakfast we ordered,

a) Breakfast (yes it is called breakfast): It is good for 1 person but insufficient if you are very hungry.

b) Chicken Ceaser: It's a cold wrap that is delicious and good enough for one person.

c) Different types of bread: We ordered a couple of big loaves of bread and finished within minutes

4) Value for Money 5/5: Although some might say it is costly but when you take into account the freshness and taste, this is a complete value for money and a breakfast that you will remember.

Overall. If you are ever visiting Anchorage, this place should definitely be at the top of your list for breakfast. A must-visit for everyone

The Good:

1) Everything - the baked items, the coffee, and the breakfast was delicious

Not so good:

1) Parking in front is limited and is not free in any place nearby

This little indoor market with a coffee shop, bakery, juice bar, produce stand, etc. is perfect for Alaska--you get all the pleasant interactions of a market but stay warm and toasty inside with lovely big windows for light to fill the space. Fire Island is a great local bakery that's always popular but this locale is really fun.

As for the food--a pan of fresh cruffins came out just as we got to the front of the line. I was a little skeptical, never having had a cruffin and seeing the $7 price tag, and I wasn't really hungry anyway, but was going along for the ride with someone who was. After one bite I changed my mind. The pastry was light and golden and airy but what killed it was the passion fruit curd inside. That stuff is amazing. I will dream about it tonight.

The only thing I'm mad about is how many times I've visited Anchorage without trying this place! The all-day pastry case is AMAZING, full of surprises, and very innovative. They also have fresh baked loaves of bread for sale and a good selection of breakfast/lunch sandwiches. Summary of what I've tried:

Sandwiches: Their avocado and egg breakfast sandwich blew my mind -- the subtle sweetness of the bun mixed with the rich runny egg/avocado and fresh, herby, pickled greens works magic. I'm usually not a fan of egg salad, but their messy egg salad and avocado sandwich might be one of the first ones I've liked, and I'd happily eat it again.

Pastries: The raspberry lemon scone was a 10/10 -- mostly savory, buttery, and soft inside, with a nice crispy crust, and slight sweetness and tartness to balance it out. Similarly, the apple gruyere sage scone had perfect textures and a great sweet/rich, plus some good herbiness. This is exactly what a scone should be! Also, their chocolate chip cookies are thick, gooey, and close to perfection

Breads: I got day-old campagne, and it was still plenty fresh, had good textures, and very tasty sourdough. It lasted about 3 more days at room temp before it started to lose a little fresh quality. The rustic wheat was the same high quality; I'd happily either any day.

It's an easy environment to soak up inside the market, though sitting room can be hard to find at peak hours. Good luck not buying one of everything when you come in! This place is a must-visit when I'm in Anchorage from now on! Their servers are excellent people, too. Be sure to cross the hall and pair your sandwich/pastry with some coffee from That Feeling Co (best coffee in town, IMO). Dynamic duo!

Really really really good bakery. The baked goods were absolutely delicious. I got a lemon raspberry scone, Alaska berry scone, Carmel delight, Carmel tart, and a coconut macaroon… everything was delicious (especially the Carmel items and scones) and I will definitely be coming back. I honestly should have gotten a bread as well because they looked great.

Always like to try bakeries when traveling and was quite pleased with the selection and quality of this one. The line was decent when we got there but moved quickly. The service was friendly and helpful. The pastries were delicious and full of flavor. Great place if you are looking for some baked goods.

Bread is so fresh, more to that, variety of pastries and these looks so yummy and pretty. I will definitely come back and taste different things. THE BEST scorn I ever had, I had Alaskan berry scorn, buttery, fully, crunchy, all the flavors and texture were amazing!! ( I actually met the pastry chef who made this recipe, she was amazing! )

TLDR; great bakery with quality products.

We came in at 7am sharp and there was already a line waiting at the door to be let in. The line does move fairly quickly though and gives you time to go over the many options they have.

We for a vegetarian breakfast sandwich and a ham and cheese croissant which were both very good. I’m hoping to come back here and try some of their sweet baked products before we leave.
