The duck was nothing short of delectable, perfectly cooked with a rich, savory depth that lingered on the palate. The Brussels sprouts, however, stole the show, emerging as one of the finest side dishes I’ve had in recent memory—crispy, yet tender, with a balance of flavors that was simply exquisite. The honey bourbon chicken, while flavorful, felt a bit understated in comparison, offering a pleasant sweetness but lacking the bold impact I had hoped for. As for the avocado fries, they were a delightful surprise—crispy on the outside, with a creamy, indulgent center that paired wonderfully with their dipping sauce.

Parking is… interesting. Wish they’d at least pave on the outside road to make it easier for everyone.
Food was excellent - had their bourbon chicken & spouse had the wagyu steak. Both super delicious. Took carrot cake home but they deconstructed it which was a bit of a let down.
However, service was great - will definitely make this a go-to for romantic dates.

The staff were very friendly.
The atmosphere is fun and very spacious.
My food was 3.5 stars. The duck breast was tender and flavorful but the brussel sprouts were too soft and sweet.
The restaurant has a parking lot

Had a large group for a birthday dinner tonight that had been rescheduled on very short notice. Staff were very accommodating and went above and beyond to provide great service. The back patio area here is a great space for 25-30 people . Looking forward to coming back here again.

Very good food. The service was tip notch. However don’t believe anything the hostess says. They will lie to you to make you think they are so busy that because you don’t have a reservation you get to sit in the dungeon.
We were told when we came in at 3:45 that we couldn’t sit by the window because all the tables except the one right by the entrance was booked at 5pm and the only table that wasn’t booked until 5:30 was the one by he main entrance and walkway. That was BS.
Here’s the photo at 5:45 when we were preparing to leave where all but 2 tables are open. Including 2 different window tables.
It is completely unacceptable to LIE to your customers. I don’t know that I will recommend this place because of that. I loved the food, the server was great (Evangeline), cocktails were good… but the whole experience was overshadowed by being lied to and treated like a second class customer because we didn’t have a 3:45 reservation. It’s just very bad business. Especially because I almost left to go to Taverna Tagaris because of the seating situation. I am glad I didn’t because the food was good, but honestly I will likely tell my friends to beware that this place is a little snobby if you don’t make a reservation for happy hour.
Just really bad management choices.

Update:

20 minutes to get first drinks, glasses ran dry, out of porchetta, halibut was dry ......The server comped us a bit, so I appreciate it, they just need to figure this out.

The Oysters and Champagne event was legit! I followed up with bacon wrapped dates and the halibut!

Fiction is always a great experience and arguably the best restaurant in the Tricities.

Bookwalter wine continues to be lackluster and mediocre, so I can't consider Fiction a 5 star restaurant.

Dramatic improvement since Bookwalter built the new tasting room and moved that function across the street. The restaurant is now 100% focused on delivering a fantastic product with impeccable service! Full service bar with high-end tequilas, Scotch and Bourbon, and excellent, elegant menu items at good prices. Bravo, Manager Jeff! Your positive impact is obvious and appreciated!

We came to Fiction through a recommendation.. and Fiction did not disappoint! The atmosphere was great, not too dark. Our waitress was amazing. Very knowledgeable and super helpful and attentive. The food was to die for! The best pork chop I’ve ever had! This might be our new date night joint!
