This place is magical. It's tucked away in a little bay, with calm water, wild life all over the place, and a dock with 2 boats a few steps away. The lodge itself is beautifully crafted with unbelievably comfortable beds, a great kitchen with 5 star chefs serving magnificent meals, and a game room tavern. The staff was very friendly, polite, professional, and had all of our excursions organized every day. They offer trips to Hot Springs, Salt and Fresh water fishing tours afar, as well as right outside the lodge you can catch Salmon, Halibut, and Cod. There are multiple decks, fireplaces, a fish cleaning/packing station which they provide for you in full shrink wrapped boxes to fly home with. If you like luxury outdoors vacations, this is one spot you MUST visit.

This was our 5th year to stay at Favorite Bay Lodge. The food is fantastic, the staff is helpful with anything and everything, the rooms are comfortable, and the fishing is great. Each year has been wonderful. I'd highly recommend to anyone. Hopefully, next summer we'll be able to return with our kids and grandkids.

This place is magical inside and out. From a 5 star feeling inside the lodge created by its layout and staff. The beds are the most comfortable I’ve stayed in. ||To the beauty of Alaska and the amazing fishing right outside the bay. More like catching than fishing. ||I’ll be back every year.

I never write reviews but I recently had an unforgettable trip to Favorite Bay Lodge with my family, and I can't praise it enough and felt like this place deserved a review. Favorite Bay Lodge was recommended to me by a friend and I truly think we found a hidden gem! While we were there many of the guests at the lodge were returning guests. One guest mentioned that he had been come to Favorite Bay with his family for 15 years, and I can see why.

From the moment we arrived, everything felt first class. The staff was incredibly welcoming, the beds were exceptionally comfortable, and the views were simply breathtaking.

One of the many highlights of our stay was the float plane ride (booked and arranged by the Lodge), offering us spectacular aerial views of the pristine Alaskan wilderness.

The fishing was amazing, with easy access to prime spots just minutes from the lodge. The fishing guides are great and provide all the fishing gear. Many other lodges travel 30+ minutes to fish at spots that are minutes from Favorite Bay. My family caught 200 pounds of fileted fish (king salmon, silver salmon, halibut, black cod, etc.), all expertly cut/cleaned, vacuum-sealed, frozen, labeled and packaged for our trip home. While fishing you are able to watch humpback whales bubble feed and bald eagles soar overhead. It felt like we were part of a National Geographic documentary. While reeling up a halibut, we saw a whale breech no more than 50 yards from our boat. AMAZING!!!

Another perk of Favorite Bay Lodge is my kids were able to pull up the lodge's Dungeness crab traps and shrimp pots, and within an hour, the fresh seafood was served at our table. The lodge's location, overlooking the water with stunning sunsets, provided a peaceful and picturesque backdrop to our stay.

The food at the lodge was exceptional, from the delicious appetizers during happy hour to the highlight crab night, where each guest enjoyed their own whole Dungeness crab. Every meal was delicious, with fresh, made-to-order dishes that exceeded our expectations.

The lodge is also conveniently equipped with everything you need for fishing, including boots, bib pants, jackets, and other gear. This level of detail and convenience made our trip even more enjoyable.

Overall, this Favorite Bay Lodge offers a truly remarkable experience with top-notch amenities, breathtaking scenery, and incredible food. It’s a perfect destination for for guests and families seeking adventure and relaxation in the heart of Alaska. We will definitely be returning and cherish all the family memories/experiences created.

Thanks Kimberly, Jerry and the rest of the staff for making this such an unforgettable experience!!!

My husband and I just had an incredible stay at Favorite Bay Lodge. Much more than just a fishing lodge, we enjoyed the best of Southeastern Alaska’s natural beauty in great comfort. With excellent amenities and a top-notch staff (who are constantly seeking to satisfy your every desire – sometimes before you even knew you wanted it - thank you, Kimberly!), you feel completely at home – except better! A special shout out to their new chef who conjured deliciously creative dishes daily from the kitchen with a confident culinary finesse. You are definitely not roughing it here! ||Although my husband and I enjoy fishing (and the fishing is fantastic, even in early July!), we are not die-hards. So we were delighted by the diversity of other things to see and do in the area, from spotting humpback whales bubble-net hunting, to watching sea lions bask in the sun and dozens of bald eagles catch fish, to hiking and learning about the Tlingit culture from Greg, our fabulous native fishing guide. ||In fact, our stay at the lodge followed a 7-day Alaskan cruise, and my husband and I agreed that we saw most of the things from our cruise in the first 36 hours at the lodge. But, instead of scratching the surface of an area, our experience at the lodge was deeper and more personal – and as a result much more rewarding.||Finally, southeast Alaska is remote (something that’s hard to truly appreciate until you’re actually here) and the lodge is even more remote. On the one hand this remoteness is a huge asset (if you like that kind of thing), but on the other hand everything seems to cost more than in the 48 contiguous states. The price of the lodge bundles many of these expenses, and it can seem like a lot. But if you want to experience Alaska – and you don’t want to do it as part of a large group -- you’ll find that there’s a lot of value staying here.

Great scenery, great fishing, wonderful service. We caught a daily limit of Black Cod on our first day of fishing as well as Coho Salmon and King (Chinook) salmon. We did not catch any Kings that were large enough to keep. On our final day of fishing we caught Coho, King, and Pink salmon all day long. And although the water was kind of rough on that day, our boat captain, Ed, found a way to pilot the boat in such a way to minimize the effects of the rough water. Along with the King and Pink salmon, we caught 17 Coho that day, just one short of the daily limit for the three of us. Once again, although we caught lots of King salmon during our stay, none of them were big enough to keep. Where are all the large Kings? Are they all down in British Columbia?
