We stayed with 2 adults and 2 kids.
Perfect location, very nice staff, the pool was perfect for the kids.
Great location to go for epic drives and see giant sequoia trees.
Close enough to the little grocery store in Kernville.
The room itself was very rustic. I'm very picky about hotel rooms and this was below my typical comfort level but again I'm incredibly fussy. Its a cabin in the wilderness and staying here was more about me getting over my prissy self. The kids loved it and had no issues. There are no Holiday Inns or the like in this areas and most of the little hotels and motels around the area offered the same rustic cabin-like experience.

I've never stayed here. Just went down to see where Bull Run Creek enters the Kern River, across the river from the resort. But it looks like a decent place. Not a bad location with river access. A little tricky to find but the sign out on the road should indicate where to enter property.

I've been here three times now, It's a great place for folks of all ages. Our king bed was the best quality, so comfortable! We love having the studio with full kitchen, dining table and various sitting areas, it is very roomy! The fireplace is lovely, too We could hear the river from our cabin, as well as the frogs croaking. I could sit on the patio for hours and just soak all that nature and fragrance in--those views of the mountains!!
The staff is incredible, gracious and full of info if you ask. The pool is clean and easily accessible, and you park right next to your cabin. I love this place so much that it is now a favorite of mine over higher end places along our California coast. I love entering the Sequoia National Forest from here, and I love short drive to Kernville to dine in the restaurants. Thank you to the staff at Falling Waters for making our visit memorable once again.

We enjoyed the spacious rooms, very clean, and the extremely friendly and helpful staff. We had cabins beside the river. The rooms were older style but very spacious with an oversize bed, good furniture, comfortable quiet and plenty of character. The kitchen was perfectly useable and there was a sheltered sitting area and bbq outside. The rooms had aircon, wifi and insect screens and parking right outside so really quite acceptable for the price. We would happily come again.

Amazing stay at this peaceful and wonderful resort. My boyfriend and I came up from Orange County to get away for a few nights and ended up staying nearly one full week. We so much enjoyed all of the amenities provided to us including the kitchenette, the beautifully tall bed, working TV, AC and an amazingly refreshing pool. Everything was so well maintained. We especially enjoyed having our own space on the patio as well as using the outdoor grill to make bbq dinners. THE STAFF was especially amazing. Tina was so sweet on the phone when making our reservations and answering any and all questions AND Billie was just a sweetheart. She made us feel like family and was always making sure we had everything we needed and that we were happy 🙂 ||Additionally, we brought our two little dogs with us. They had such a fun time running around, walking through the trees to the river and especially enjoyed the AC. AND, the charge for a dog is so minimal it didn't add any stress the finding a place that accepts them. ||We're so glad we found this as a place to stay on all our future trips up to Kernville. Thank you Thank you!

This is our home away from home. We live an hour away and happily pay the rate to stay here just to get away. Billie and Tina are great people! The grounds are beautiful and the pool is better than a 5 star resort. Everything is always clean and comfortable, and it's great for families or just a couples get away. I'm so grateful for such a wonderful stay everytime. Thank you for your hospitality!

This hotel was recommended by the whitewater rafting company that we booked with. This was a great place to stay after 2 days of rafting. It is a little outside of the main part of Kernville but only 2 miles up the road. It is right on the river and there's lots of hiking nearby. The pool was amazing. The water was freezing (just like the river) but since it's so hot in the summer the pool was very refreshing. The hotel is a series of duplexes. You can park right next to your room. The courtyard has barbecues, picnic tables and walking paths. It was really pleasant to sit outside at night on the patio. It was really quiet too. The staff are the nicest people making sure everything is ok. I had some car trouble and one of the ladies drove home to get a battery charger from her garage, because it would have taken AAA forever to get there. The room was huge!!! There was a kitchenette too which was very convenient. It was fully stocked with dishes, mugs, pots and pans etc. There's a nice market down the street where you can stock up. It was also very peaceful and quiet out there.

he Kern river valley is a beautifully wild and rocky place with many businesses that look as if they've been through some economic hard times due to the drought. Falling Waters is no exception. Although our experience was mixed, we had a good stay, it was a good value, and we'd stay there again. There's an abundance of water in the river this year, Lake Isabella is full, and the mountains are packed with snow that will melt and feed river for the rest of the 2017 season. So just go and enjoy this beautiful region!||||We stayed in a duplex. Here's the good stuff: ||||- The host was wonderfully nice to us - so much so that she made our stay feel memorable, despite some drawbacks.||- Our duplex was right on the river, and very quiet. We could hear the river running at night which was kind of dreamy. I imagine that fishermen like to fish right outside the room.||- Room was spotlessly clean and airy due to open beam ceilings.||- Sleep quality was excellent. Drapes did a good job blacking out the light with the exception of the window in the front door.||- There was a fully-equipped kitchen, with pots & pans, silverware, coffee maker, toaster, scrubby, dish soap, and drainer, linen towels, etc. We brought supplies and made a full breakfast - this is recommended. No paper towels or napkins - bring your own.||- Mattress was a little soft for my taste, but fine for sleeping, as were the pillows. All bedding was immaculately clean and fresh.||- TV and satellite worked well.||- Room had a real wood-burning fireplace.||- Bathroom was *very* dated but also *very* clean.||- There were totes adorbs kittehs at reception!||- There were wild deer wandering the property in the morning, birds singing, nature naturing.||||Here's the so-so stuff:||||- All furnishings were in good condition but the decor is dated and oddball. Dutch colonial armoire, Two French statues made of concrete, super cheap lighting fixtures, faux stone castle wallpaper, 1980s bordello-style satin bed cover, plastic ferns stapled to the walls.||- There were plug-in mosquito repellent units that emanated an excruciating electronic whine; we had to unplug them. We didn't get bitten without them.||- Although we had a fireplace, there was no wood or kindling. Wah.||- There was a baseboard missing in the bathroom.||- There is no table or light on one side of the bed.||||Here's the not-good stuff:||||- The grounds are badly neglected. Weeds, piles of cut branches, overgrown shrubs, etc. Maybe try a cleanup weekend where you let people stay there for free if they will work four hours a day in the yard....? There are also some abandoned (?) trailers and vehicles around that should be towed away.||- The pool was drained at some point in the past. Dunno if it will ever be refilled....||- The large skillet has a ruined Teflon surface and needs to be replaced for health reasons. ||- The unit had no heating. We didn't need it, but the room was ~60 degrees in the morning so we did miss it coming out of the shower. The room does have an a/c unit on the wall.||- No wifi.||- The air freshener used in the room was horrific. Or, perhaps it was bug killer. Regardless, it stank. Please, please stop using this.||||As noted above, we would stay here again, as the room was super clean and perfectly equipped, and because the host was so awesome. We do recommend the place; just be aware that it's a mixed bag.
