The first time I stayed here it was a quiet getaway for myself. It was peaceful and serene and felt safe in the Alaskan beauty. I enjoyed my stay so much that my friends and I booked the whole Inn for a "Girls Weekend" the next year. There are 3 rooms and 4 beds so lots of room. A spacious living area, clean, inviting and relaxing. The kitchen is fully stocked to cook meals if a person so desired. There is a fridge and microwave too. It is close to quaint downtown Talkeetna, where there is fun to be had by all! Lastly, there is a large grocery store and 10-15 minutes away if your in need of just about anything. I highly recommend The Eye of Denali to any type of getaway.

We came to stay at Eye of Denali go 2 nights after a week long cruise with family. My family with 2 kids and my parents stayed here. It was so nice to have the full kitchen for convenience and it saved us money. We stopped in anchorage at Grocery store but were pleasantly surprised to find a grocery store only 15 min away. We had the whole house of 3 bedrooms with full size beds and 2 bathrooms with showers, the couch also pulls out to a bed. The bedrooms were comfortable snd clean as were the 2 bathrooms. We used the kitchen for numerous meals and even celebrated 2 birthdays. The kids were happy to have wifi after being a week without but still enjoyed some of the board games there. The backyard was beautiful with the river there, Mosquitos weren't too bad yet but do need repellant. Great bike and walking path at end of driveway and a really nice playground within walking distance. All in all it was a completely enjoyable stay

We stayed here one night before driving to Anchorage to pick up our cruise. Very nice location on the river (view only, no access) and nice grounds. Unfortunately, for the first time on our trip, we experienced rain & clouds, and couldn't see anything. I understand there's a great view of Denali from here.||||Our party (two senior-citizen couples) rented the two upstairs bedrooms with the shared bath downstairs. The bedrooms are tiny, but comfortable. We felt fortunate that nobody rented the third bedroom upstairs opposite ours, as were were able to leave luggage in the hallway outside our rooms and also had the downstairs living area and kitchen to ourselves. Definitely would have felt crowded had there been other renters. We ate out for both our dinner & breakfast so didn't use the kitchen, but it appeared to be well equipped. We didn't spend a lot of time in the living area, either. It seemed dark, but that was possibly due to the lack of sun. ||||The biggest issue to us was the shared bathroom. It's very open, with no separation/privacy between the toilet and sink area and the shower, which is in the back corner. The shower didn't seem at all inviting to me, although those that actually used it didn't voice any complaints that I heard. I felt the whole bath could use an updating.||||So... Terrific location, ok accommodations that could probably be improved with just a little attention. Nothing outstanding, and no serious problems; hence the "average" rating.

Gave it excellent rating; visually stunning home with lots of room IF YOU RENT ALL 3 ROOMS of main unit. (separate suite with it's own entrance off on side) Nice quiet location (train does go by) away from hub bub of down town. Bikes are added bonus and area has dedicated bicycle paths. Minor issues...fuel oil smell was noticeable to me; but I will quietly move while in church if somebody wearing perfume sits 15 feet away. Also, for 4 of us for 4 days no fresh wash clothes or towels delivered. Probably had we called the manager they would have delivered more. But for spreading out awesome having 3 bedrooms for our teenage kids. Stay several nights so you can get a view of Denali AND take a flight from town around the mountains. (We used N2 Alaska) Used the kitchen but you have to go downtown for at least one breakfast at Roadhouse. Had homemade ice cream in town 3 days. Day tripped to Denali Park from here. After flying above Denali Park we didn't even take the tour bus into Denali. Use Eye of Denali cabin as your home base for several days. Enjoy the town, ride the Hurricane Train if you drove here (6 hour round trip) and do all the town has to offer. Also see my review of Adobe Wells Cabin in Seward.

We stayed at the Eye of Denali's main house in August 2013. It was beautiful rustic and private house just outside of Talkeetna. It was was within easy walking distance to a city park and the train station. It is right next to the train tracks - our family members who slept with the windows open on that side of the house very clearly heard each train that passed.||The bedrooms were all upstairs and very comfortable. The lights were kind of tricky to figure out but we managed ok. There was a full kitchen and all the amenities if a family wanted to buy groceries and cook their own meals. ||The view of the river was very nice. It didn't appear that you could actually walk down to the river from the house. We weren't lucky enough to see any wildlife while we were there but it looked very wildlife-friendly! ||The guy who takes care of the yard showed up bright and early so that may have been a rude awakening for anyone hoping to sleep in a little (we were already up and about but not yet packed up.)||We would certainly recommend this house and would stay here again if we returned.

The Inn is located next to River Talkeetna, 5 mins. drive to the main village; they call it Downtown. We were a family of 6 and stayed overnight in the main suite; a large spacious living room with a well appointed kitchen and washroom on the Ground Floor and 3 bedrooms on first floor, only one with an attached washroom, others had to go downstairs. Total seclusion; there was not a soul anywhere throughout our stay; no other guests or staff.||||The accommodation is comfortable, but lacks maintenance. The place needs airing and cleanliness is lacking. Its such a lovely location, but the garden is in shambles. ||||If you want to stay long, do your provision shopping at Fred Meyers at Wasila en-route.

Christy of Talkeetna Travel arranged for us to stay at Eye of Denali. Christy came shortly after we arrived and showed us around. We stayed in an upstairs room that was comfortable. We had the lodge to ourselves. No TV or WiFi available at the lodge. Also the bikes was a great way to visit town which was about a mile away.

We had planned a winter visit to Talkeetna with friends. This had been our 3rd visit for my wife and I, but wanted to find a special place to share with our friends. We rented the entire house and it was fabulous. The beds were comfortable and the location and views outstanding. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay!
