We stayed for one night as we traveled through the area. Great little gem of a spot. Decent sized spots, we have a 35' 5th wheel, easy to get in. Big picnic table and area to relax. Close to Mobile and the Coast. Would definitely stay here again if traveling through or stopping to visit battle ship park.

The place is absolutely beautiful. We put in our registration paid our money. They let us sign in seen our camper. Helped us pick out a spot and everything was Perfectly normal, except we were the only people in the campground. The next day after my family gets there and we’re about to go check out the river just spending family quality time being quiet, keeping to ourselves, keeping everything clean and being respectful of the place this guy comes over there and starts pointing out that our camper looks old and that he needs the county to come out and inspect it because they have rules, even though no one else is paid to camp there as my family had and makes a big deal about my camper and they’re the ones who helped me sign my camper in and pulled to the spot that was dedicated for my Reservation. Made my wife and children feel totally uncomfortable and just totally ruin the entire weekend that we plan to stay away just because our camper looked a few years older than what it was supposed to look to be able to go there even though we are local people and we’re just taking the weekend out to be with our family in our local community and paid for it This place should not be allowed to make people feel that way just because they’re not in a brand new camper we followed all guidelines in all rules as far as registration reservations, keeping everything clean and just because the camper looked a little older they made my family feel unwelcome the next day Not to mention, even though there was no one else in the park. A beautiful place, but very awful service

Right off the hwy and easy access, RV sites easy to reserve online. Gated, safe, roaming guard at night, very well maintained. Great bathrooms, washers worked but dryers didn't. There was a bit of noise pollution from the hwy but it didn't bother me. Wish they had a few street lamps around at night. Amazing trails and 'beach'. Large level paved slots, FHU, minimal shade but a few slots get some. Minimal wildlife spotted, a lot of mosquitoes and bugs by and in the woodline but not bad in the park. Nice spot for a weekend or two. You can tell they've really put some love into this park recently. We will definitely be returning.

This is a great spot for a little getaway. The rates are very reasonable, and the facilities are very clean and nice. The RV sites are very spacious, flat, and concrete. They are still working on adding more amenities for the future, but they have a few walking trails already. There is also a beach area off the river. We were not able to access it this trip because the water was too high. We would definitely come back and recommend to anyone.

Came here on a weekend near end of April. The place was quite busy and parking lot was close to being full. I can only imagine that during summer this would be packed. The facilities provided, restroom, showers, picnic benches and access to the beach along the river. The parking lot and facilities are handicap accessible. However that all ends at the beach access. Amazing place that allows dogs on leash which is a very nice accommodation. So people who are wary of dogs should be aware of that.

First off, when I arrived on site, there’s no instructions where to go to to check in and upon check in found out they have done taken all the money for my stay out of my checking account. My question is what if I decided not to come the full amount of money after paying a deposit, OK beyond that , campground was nice and it will be nicer in a few years when the trees get bigger biggest disappointment no barbecue grills at campsite no lighting in the campground total darkness. It’s almost like they don’t want you to come out of your camper at night not to walk your puppy ride a bicycle or just go walking. It’s too dark to do any of those things.

This campground was recently renovated and it's now a Mobile County Park. There are 32 RV spots with full hook ups, All of them are large concrete pads with a connecting concrete pad with a picnic table. The campground RV area is gated and requires a code to drive through the gate. Check-in is at the Ranger Station on the left just after the turn for the RV area. You'll be given your code and a parking pass at check in. If you need to turn around after you check in you can drive straight ahead to the day use area and loop around the outer lane of the parking lot to get back to the turn in for the RV area. The roads in the campground are all paved. The bath house building in the RV area looks really nice. So does the Day Use area building. They are built of Hardy Plank and Trex Decking boards so it should last a really long time. There's a small amount of road noise from the traffic on highway 158/98 if your site is adjacent to the highway bridge, but it did not detract from our stay. There is a day use area connected by a crushed limestone path that parallels the river to the campground. It's a nice walk through the woods and has access down to the riverside sandy beach areas. There are several pavilions with grills all along the way for you to enjoy a picnic. All of the staff is super friendly and made our stay enjoyable.

It's a great place to swim and camp that's not far from downtown lucedale. It's got rv hookups for rent. The visors side has plenty of parking and both sides, have new
Bathroom buildings. There's also a large picknick area near the river beach with grills. I'd say it's the best place near lucedale
To camp and chill in the summer.
