Horrible hotel, staff was rude. Overpriced for such horrible treatment, service and cleanliness. We had no soap in our shower, no ice bucket, stains in the carpet, furniture needs to be moved and cleaned under plus the coffee and cups should be better stocked in the rooms if you can’t get coffee in the hotel until 7 am. We dealt with screaming kids and adults yelling floor to floor and pounding on doors for fun until well after 12:30 am with staff saying she can’t control the crowd. We only wanted coffee at 5:30 am so we could continue our journey with coffee seeing we couldn’t sleep. The staff was rude told us it’s not her job then tried to hold our vehicle hostage as valet is not her job either and we would need to wait until 7am for our keys. I did complain to staff about this treatment days later I had to reach out again. I was offered parking fees and early check in fees. Really over $300 we paid to be treated so incredibly rude and you want to offer parking fees. Never again Hilton brand.

Nice hotel, typical Embassy Suites. The kids had never been in one so they were excited about the elevators, the fountain, the large room. The staff was above and beyond good. At the front desk, Ann checked us in and really took great care of our needs and requests. Everyone else was very friendly and helpful but Ann was a standout. The location is convenient to downtown activities and events. Very pleased with our stay.

Very clean, attentive staff, and spacious! Only complaints: 1)parking is a distance away and in a sketchy garage. I wouldn't want my children going there alone or and women should be vigilant and, if possible, travel in a group, especially at night. 2) price.

Perks: Close to mall, restaurants, Civic Center and hospital. Great included breakfast, complimentary drinks in the evening, shuttle, and city views.

Although a very nice hotel, there are hints of repairs needed here and there. Overall, it is a nicer hotel. I would recommend it!

Positive: Location was perfect, hotel was nice looking and clean. The breakfast and evening drinks were great as well. Negative: We didn't have soap or shampoo in the dispensers when we arrived and asked two different people for some but it never came to our room.

Our room was to be ready at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 12. Our room was not ready. In fact, our room wasn't ready for TWO HOURS. I understand waiting, but this is ridiculous. It looks beautiful inside, but it is NOT. WORTH. THE. WAIT. A Hampton Inn would be much more affordable and much more worth it. You can't even park unless you pay $20+ or walk half a block with your luggage. It's a joke.

With 3 elevators serving 9 floors, there really needs to be more accessible staircases available to get between floors and the lobby. The lobby was spacious, but freezing, with all the traffic coming in and out of the building. The room was huge and in great shape. The evening reception is a pleasant amenity after a long day's drive. Can't wait to see what breakfast has in store for us tomorrow morning.

Update: Breakfast was fantastic! Even though the hotel was crowded, the double line on the buffet helped keep the line moving along. Scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, roasted potatoes, and biscuits and gravy made for a hearty way to start the morning! Separate stations for pastries, hot cereal, coffee, and juices spread out the crowd and prevented backups. Probably the best part of breakfast is the omelet station! Personalized service and custom omelets make the short wait well worth it! Unfortunately, I don't recall the cook this morning (2025.01.04), but he was super nice and personable, and cooked our omelet to perfection!

If you're ever in Charleston, WV, this is the place to stay!

Nice hotel, but I am perplexed about a couple of situations. When we arrived, we were about 20 minutes early for check-in. We were told there were no rooms available (fair enough). I asked if we could get the pass to park (you have to pay for offsite parking), and we would wait in our car for a bit. We parked our car, waited a bit, and returned to find a line of no less than 40 people. Luckily, I had the app and had selected a digital key. It was a bit after 4, but our room was still unavailable. Again, not the worst thing in the world. We sat in the atrium and overheard plenty of heated discussions about the lack of rooms. We were lucky because our room became available within 10 minutes. We headed to the elevators, only to find only one of the three working. There was a long line ahead of us, and they were packing the elevator. One elevator for 252 rooms wasn't a good look. Finally got to our room, which was very updated and spacious. They had forgotten our snack/water perk, but the front desk took care of us when we returned later that night. The walls are thin, but we were lucky to have relatively quiet neighbors. The only issue I have is the same with all Hilton hotels - the pillows are entirely too soft. It's like someone shoved clothes in a pillowcase. Other than that, we had a pleasant sleep. The next day, we attempted the elevators again to get down to breakfast. Again, only one elevator of the three was available, and people were crammed in. Breakfast had a good variety, and we checked out through the app. On the positive side, the hotel is right down the street from the convention center. We were there for a concert and the walk to and from was very easy and safe!

We traveled to Charleston over Christmas holidays to be with family. It was our first stay at an Embassy Suites and we chose it because it was "pet friendly" and we travel with our small dog. Our overall experience was very good. Check in was smooth as was check out. Our suite was comfortable and spacious enough for two adults and a small dog. Lighting in the bath room was too dim. Hardly enough to shave by. Walk in shower poorly engineered as the on/off, hot/cold controls are directly under the shower head which means you have to step into the shower to turn on the water and then get out quickly while it warms up. Once that happened, there was plenty of hot water. Complimentary breakfast was adequate but the omelet maker was an artist! Kudos to "Jerry" who seems to oversee the parking on the 3-11 shift. He is a gem! Very courteous and friendly and welcoming. Overall, a very good experience and value for the price.
