Gorgeous park in downtown Elkins, great play grounds for kids, pavilions for parties and groups. Here for the Augusta festival and it's amazing, great food, friends, and family! Also live music!

I love taking my children here. I shared so many memories here as a child and now my own children get to enjoy this beautiful park. They have made some recent improvements to the playground. It's a great place to have a picnic and the squirrels will even take food out of your hands. They always got something going on there once a month and the place is packed during the Forest Festival. They got so many Pavillion to choose from if you plan on having your own event there.

It's a beautiful, nice Park but one thing it could use is a small playground style,low water pressure Splash Pad for the kids,Glendale Park nearby could be another possibility for a Splash Pad.Something that's sorely needed within the City Limits of Elkins West Virginia.

The city park has a lot of great memories for the last 12 years.
Some of my children have taken their first steps here and go to the Summer Park program every year. They're always available to host for the forest festival vendors and the park is always clean. There is usually a kids day that the schools do at this park too. There are playgrounds with different age allowances and it's clearly posted so it makes it simple for determining when your child has different milestones which equipment is a possibility. People always have their dogs on leashes which is wonderful and clean up behavior and the paths are flat and clear. There are great amount of toilets so you never have to wait when there's big events and several gazebos, very high swings and very low swings and even a very large swing for someone that may have disabilities that needs a harness. You can ride your bike here you can throw horseshoes in the fenced in space. There are many grills throughout the park and a nice basketball court. Picnic tables are also spread throughout and there's so much space that if you wanted to do an impromptu game of badminton or tag you can. It's a safe place to spend time and a recommended go to when out of Towner's ask for locations to go in Elkins West Virginia.

The play area for kids seems to be quite popular and much enjoyed. The grass is kept trimmed low, so it's easy to walk anywhere within the park limits. There's plenty of shade from the trees and they're beautiful in the spring and fall. Improvements are slowly being made to the park, but the picnic tables and benches are still in much need of upkeep or upgrade. The bathrooms are also in need of maintenance.

The drugs have taken it over. I grew up in Elkins and moved away 5 years. I took the kids to play at the park where I saw 2 men, 2 women doing deals. Needles are lying on the ground.. VERY SAD to see
