As a member going on six years, the most significant issue I have recently encountered was the presence of inconsiderate members, who have the WORST attitudes, and the horrendous VIP members that come no matter the time of day. There are always a select few individuals who display an unpleasant demeanor, treating others with rudeness and an unwarranted sense of entitlement. Unfortunately, their behavior tainted the overall atmosphere and has created a discomforting environment for everyone else.

Compounding the problem is managements apparent prioritization of VIP members. These VIP members cause terrible pace of play issues, and there are some that seem to regularly be able to get onto a *private* course for a cheap price. I might as well cancel my membership and just come every other day as a VIP member…

To add to the frustration, the pace of play is abysmally slow. Even with two, you’re sometimes looking at a 4-5 hour round. To top it off, there have been numerous SIXSOMES on the course at different times the past few months and it seems as though there are literally no rules anymore. Despite the course’s renowned excellence, the rounds progress at an excruciatingly sluggish pace. It feels as though time comes to a standstill, hindering any chance of enjoyment or finding a rhythm in my game. Patience quickly turns into aggravation as the pace of play became more of a test than a pleasurable experience.

Lastly, the members get whatever they want and act like babies and nobody has the balls to stand up for the course, the rules, and how things really should be at a private course.

It is disappointing that a golf course with such immense potential is plagued by these significant drawbacks. While the physical attributes of the course are remarkable, the negative elements stemming from both inconsiderate members and VIP privilege overshadow everything else. For the true essence of a remarkable golfing experience to flourish, it is crucial that the management addresses the issues with member behavior, ensures equal treatment for all players, and implements measures to improve the pace of play.

Regrettably, until these concerns are adequately addressed, I cannot wholeheartedly recommend this course to fellow golf enthusiasts. It serves as a reminder that an exceptional golfing experience encompasses not only the course’s physicality but also the conduct of its members and the equality of treatment bestowed upon all players.

Food was great! Alyssa, Kyra and the other attendants were really nice and helpful. Would love to go back soon, but we're only here for the Stonewall Reunion.

Premier country club in Charleston. Excellent social and sporting opportunities. The food and service is fantastic in the main dining room or the grill for a laid back atmosphere. Nice gym equipment, squash courts, steam room, in addition to outdoor pool, kids pool, and diving well. The golf course is among the best in WV in terms of conditions and playability. Lots of planned parties for adults and kids. Well managed club.

The food that was served wasn't that good. Too Spicy for Italian cuisine. Suppose to have unlimited pop and that wasn't provided. The staff did a good job etc.
