Amazing experience working with Chef Eric. I hosted a pop up dinner event at my home and had the most wonderful experience planning, preparing, and executing the event. He was easy to work with. The dinner followed a theme of all the dishes and history that brought those foods to Hawaii. The food was well designed combined with the creative, carefully curated menu. The menu consisted of pleasing textures, visual stimulation, and layers of flavor: Ahi Poke (sashimi-grade tuna, shoyo, ginger, hawaiian sea salt, toasted, sesame oil, and onions), Shrimp Lumpia (butterflied shrimp, garlic, scallion, chive crema, sweet savory chili sauce), Cold Ginger Noodles (thin noodles, ginger/scallion, truffle oil, served w/ slow cooked and glazed char siu pork belly), Mochiko Chicken Katsu (chicken thighs marinated in shoyu, mochiki rice flour, ginger, garlic, brown sugar and honey, then coated in panko break crumbs and fried to a crisp, shredded cabbage salad), Beef Ribeye Bibimbap (thinly sliced marinated beef ribeye, steamed rice, gochujang, banchan of pickled dailon/radish, cucumbers, carrots, and kim chee), and Pineapple & Lychee Upside Down Bibingka (haupia whipped cream, toasted coconut, pineapple/lychee puree. Chef Eric excels in creating foods that excites all of your senses in a refreshingly creative interpretation of his own heritage and the Asian/Pacific influence he has thoughtfully integrated in all his dishes. Everything was melt in your mouth consistency. Chef Eric and his team clearly created a night of pure indulgence. Book him today!

He did our intimate civil wedding dinner, i want it a filipino themed dinner, he exceeded the expecTation , everyone enjoyed the meals he prepared bringing filipino food into next level, you can see his passion for his craft combined with excellent customer service! I chose to work with Eric for a private dinner for 9-10 people. Despite booking last minute (~1 week in advance) we were able to get the menu and contract figured out quickly. His cooking is very flavorful and innovative, steeped in his Filipino and Hawaiian heritage. He arrived on time and left the kitchen in great shape. Highly recommended for a great night in!

Eric catered a kamayan dinner for my bachelorette in 2021 and I've attended two of his pop up dinners in the last two months. I recommend not passing up on any opportunity to enjoy his cooking. My family has a Filipino catering business and for the first 30 years of my life I said I've never had better Filipino food. But alas, I found Eric and he's right up there with the cooks in my family, which is a blessing because Eric is in the Bay and my family is two plane flights away! Thank you, Eric, for your sharing your gift of food, storytelling, and creating spaces for building community. I selfishly hope he does more East Bay events and I look forward to hiring him again to cater an event someday 🙂 Salamat po!

I am beyond grateful for how much joy Eric brings to my family through his food and all-around good nature. We recently had Eric cater one of my family member's birthday dinners -- the 2nd birthday dinner we have had Eric cater in 2023, and I'm beginning to lose track of how many times Eric has been such an integral part of our family's celebrations. Everything is always flavorful and cooked to perfection, and delivered on time with a smile. It's obvious the pride Eric takes in his cooking. I recommend Eats by E enthusiastically whether you are new to Filipino food or if it's an integral part of your family. Eats by E is outstanding!

I have had the pleasure of eating Kuya Eric's food twice, now! The first time was an intimate event that he did in Oakland a few years ago. The food was delicious and beautifully plated, and he did such a fabulous job of incorporating his background into the story that he told with his food. More recently, he catered a larger event - my wedding! From start to finish, Eric met the task with excitement and professionalism. My husband (EEK) and I were really excited by the menu (TINOLA LUMPIA?! C'MON!) and could not wait to have our guests eat Eric's food. Our appetizers consisted of 2 lumpias and a BBQ skewer, and our mains included miso salmon, tofu and veggie, pork belly sisig with sides of rice (OMG - people were raving about the rice!!!), garlic noodles and a salad. We received so many compliments about the food - people couldn't choose which dish they liked best! Thank you so much, Kuya Eric - you and your team brought something extra special to our wedding day, and we can't wait to eat your food again. Salamat!!!

My husband and I have been attending popup meals by Chef Eric for about 7 years now, and each one has been a wonderful experience. Eric puts so much thought into each dish he prepares, paying homage to his roots, yet adding his own unique twist that makes it an artful creation.

Not only is the food delicious, but Chef Eric and his team bring such a good vibe to the events they hold. They make you feel like you're dining with family, making all his meals truly memorable. You always end up with full belllies, happy hearts, and giant smiles on your faces.

Because of this, Chef Eric's meals have become regular part of our milestones. He prepared meals during both our 5th and 10th-year wedding anniversary celebrations, our birthdays, and other momentous occasions. He has not only become our hands-down favorite chef, but also one of our friends. Eric's meals will continue to be staples in our lives.

If you haven't tried a meal by Chef Eric, we highly recommend you do. Maybe we'll even see you at one of his popups!
