A good brunch spot at a prime location in South Lake Tahoe. You may have to wait awhile for a table, but there are numerous shops nearby to kill some time. They had a happy hour deal with $5 beer from noon to 3pm, and the prices on the menu were also better than I expected for the area. I had a special eggs benedict with salmon and avocado (along with home fries) for only $19 which felt like an amazing deal to me. The entree was great while the home fries were pretty average, but all in all a good meal. The service was attentive and friendly throughout, and the interior was cozy and fit the town outside of the cheesy signs all over the place. Definitely a place I would come back to if I were to visit again.

Great entrees, fries/home fries average. Good service

Very busy (unsurprising) the hot chocolate was the best hot chocolate i’ve ever had and the ugly fries were amazing! fast service even though the place was stuffed. only thing is to skip the potato pancakes. they’re made with mashed potatoes instead of shredded and just could be better. rest of the place is amazing though!

Okay food, nothing special.

I got a meat lovers omelette, no flavor and avocado was old. Had to douse in half a bottle of hot sauce.

Wife got the “Eggs Benedict”, which I’m shocked with what they brought out. Odd garlicky sauce. Eggs not cooked correctly. Don’t call it eggs Benedict if you’re gonna throw your own twist on it.

Pros: $5 beers. Hot sauce available at all tables. Nice staff.

Driftwood is my favorite breakfast and lunch place in South Lake Tahoe. I love Lake Tahoe but the food overall isn’t great. On one of my trips I found Driftwood on my last day and had wished I had found it was earlier. The food is always great. The service is always great. The menu has variety. The price point is good. Can’t really go wrong eating here.

Great location! The food was good! The wait time went by fast.

I absolutely did not liked was their home fries and their service. The waiter was really slow and once we got our food it took a while until we saw her again to ask for napkins and water.

One of the few places in South Tahoe Lake is offering American breakfast. So, the place gets very busy from 8 am onwards. The food was amazing, friendly staff and quick service considering completely filled tables.

Great food and atmosphere at Driftwood Cafe! We ordered the Meat Lover Omelette with a potato pancake, Edd’s Best Omelette with a potato pancake, and Smoked Salmon Eggs Benedict with hash browns – all were fantastic. The fresh-squeezed orange juice was also amazing. It took about 30 minutes to get a table, so I highly recommend joining the Yelp waitlist, especially on weekends when it can get busy. If the weather’s nice, ask for a table outside to enjoy your meal with a stunning view of the mountains and pine trees. Perfect spot for a memorable brunch!

However, I didn’t enjoy the fact that I bit into a salmon thorn while eating – it was unpleasant. Also, I wasn’t a fan of the hash browns; they had a slightly bitter aftertaste.
