I met a woman here who used to work at Child Protection Services at Nome. We had a nice evening together as friends. Please please if anyone reading this could give me her contact. I totally forgot her name for sure she would also forget me. She was staying on the 1st floor. Very soft spoken and catching. Anyone reading this from Dredge 7Inn, please comment. I will try to find her pics. She was the only friend in Nome for me.

I love the dredge 7. It's been my go to place to stay in Nome for years. The staff are all super friendly. I do like the location down the highway more but just because it suits my anti social tendencies. I stayed at the one in town this time and it was cozy as can be. Water was hot. The kitchenette has an induction hot plate, a sink, Keurig, and a kettle for heating up dinner water. The heater in the room works great. Can't wait to go back!

TLDR: This is a unique but fun place to stay! I was booked here for a work trip, but if/when I come back I would definitely stay again. The room was clean, comfortable and well appointed. I loved the Bonanza suite.

A few notes for anyone coming. The check in process is different. Make sure to check the white board right up front in the parking area, to see if you're on the bottom or top floor.
When you get inside, your room assignment/map is on the board. They have an ipad set up for face time if you need assistance. Your room will be open with the key in the door.
Write down the door code on the sign in your room, if you come or go late, the front door will be locked.
I really appreciated the toiletries in the bathroom, plenty of shampoo/conditioner and soap. Lots of towels on hand, and hooks to hang them on. The toyo heater can be tricky, I would recommend setting it a little lower than you think you need. I liked the ceiling fan and white noise machine! The bed was comfortable and there were plenty of blankets. The room was tidied every day, and fresh coffee pods were available with cream and sugar in the cabinet.
The walls are pretty thin, the last night of my stay I had some noisy neighbors but that's not the hotels fault.

I can't find anything that is wrong with this place. We stayed here for 7 nights and every day the rooms were cleaned thoroughly. You get all necessary amenities and there is a kitchen (full with utensils) available for personal use. Considering we were at Nome, AK (a small faraway place), I was very surprised to see such an well maintained hotel. It was definitely a memorable visit and this cozy hotel made it even sweeter.

Great hotel, great owners. Rooms are nice, modern, always clean and comfortable. Best hotels in Nome!

Seriously, the rooms are great, so are the beds. I travel extensively for work and I'm very picky about hotels and this one is great!

In response to the reviewer who complained about getting charged for "miniscule" scratches, one can't say they didn't know this in advance. There is a very clear note in the vehicles about bush scratches. This is Nome, an extremely remote place where it is much more difficult to get repairs done and it is extremely expensive to get parts and vehicles into. Everything has to come in by air or on a barge.

I've stayed at the Drudge7 many times and rented vehicles a few times. I just met the owners for the first time last night when I ran into them accidentally. Nice people, but I'm sure anyone would get annoyed when their property is damaged.

Terrific stay. Nicely done small hotel in town (and location outside). Very well thought out, well kept, and very clean.

We rented two rooms: one with a small kitchenette and the other without. Both had nice bathrooms. I tend to notice the details and I could go on and on about the nice touches.

2 K-cups and granola bars a room, lock boxes for late key pickup or drop off, additional wall heaters, ceiling fans, white noise machine, tv, WiFi, iPad help desk for assistance, turn down service was quick and convenient.

The rooms are meticulously maintained.

We rented a great Jeep for a couple of days and drove around town and a little bit out too.

I stayed in one of the suites on the 1st floor. No a bad room. The bed is in significant need of replacement. The wifi is super restricted, but overall the room was clean, the amenities where good. I would stay again if had to.

Prior to arriving at the Dredge, they tried to change our reservation to the in-town location at the last minute. Luckily we noticed the email and called and insisted this did not occur, since we wanted what we originally booked. After spending thousands of dollars at the Dredge, we arrived and were given a tiny room in what was essentially a single wide trailer with paper thin walls and whining dogs barking at all hours of the day. We paid $50 per night extra for a roll away bed, supposedly fit for an adult. In reality, even a small child would struggle to sleep soundly on the tiny cot that sagged to the floor with any amount of weight on it, which forced us to also book another room at a different hotel in town at the last minute to accommodate sleeping arrangements for our whole group ($200 more per night). We requested a refund and at first, we’re told that the charges would be refunded. All of the beds were uncomfortable and due to the dogs we slept horribly. There was also a security camera in the living room, which felt very strange and discomforting. The cable took many tries to get to work. On the last day of our trip, we returned our rental car on time (8am), while our check out was at 11am. Twice between 9-10:30 we had housecleaning knock on our door and interrupt our morning, clearly trying to get us to leave prior to the checkout time. At 10:45 the inn owner stormed into our room and began yelling at us about scratches on the rental car, berating and belittling us, claiming to “work hard for her money” and indicating that we do not, despite the fact that we were on vacation, and contributing to the Nome economy and do in fact, work very hard for our earnings. After yelling and dehumanizing us, she ended by saying that she would only refund us for one night of the rollaway fee, that we would have to pay for the scratches to the car, and “checkout is at 11” and slammed the door as hard as she could, all while her husband stood silently behind her, presumably for “backup”. Please note, she gave us a brand new truck, which we did not request, as we wanted an SUV for the 5 of us (all adults). We were calm, polite, and respectful, everything that she was not. Several days later, we received a charge on our credit card for $4000 in charges to “fix” the scratches to the rental card, without any notice. These scratches were minuscule and could have been buffed in a few minutes time. Worse than the charges was the treatment we received. We had already spent thousands with this inn, and they exhibited nothing but utter disrespect to us. Fair warning, do not stay here if you want to be treated like a respectful, paying customer. You are far better off at the Aurora, Gold Nugget, or the best choice, an AirBnB.
