The hotel was nice. It’s close to the railroad tracks so that could be a little noisy during the day. We were here for a conference and the conference rooms were very nice. Banquet food was decent. My room was clean and had a fridge and coffee maker. It seemed very safe, which is important to a woman traveling alone. Desk clerks were all very nice and friendly. If I ever have to go to Modesto again, I would definitely stay here.

Loved the one night we stayed here. Room was spacious and beds were very comfortable. Only issue was toilet sounded like it was trying to flush the whole room with as much noise as it made.
When we are visiting family we will be staying here only as the hotel impressed my husband very much which is hard to do.
Location is good as there are many things within walking distance if needed. Valet parking was worth it especially after traveling. Service staff were all very nice and helpful. Rooms were very clean.
Wish there were outlets for C plugs as most electronic devices use them now but maybe next time.

My husband and I came into town for a night. The DoubleTree by Hilton was perfect. The valet was convenient. Several places to eat but we ate at their restaurant Maxi’s in the hotel which was great. There’s a full bar, tons of comfortable seating. I went to Erin Milan Salon & Spa for a facial . They are connected to the hotel which was the main reason I chose to stay here. They have an amazing gym set up. 💪 and pool. Super clean. We also had their breakfast which did not disappoint. All the staff we encountered were pleasant and friendly. Our room was spacious and clean as well. Comfortable bed. Price was fair. We would definitely stay here again.

I stay at this hotel for business purposes. It’s close to one of my work locations however theres not much to do in the area nor good places to eat nearby. Therefore it’s important for the hotel to have a decent restaurant inside. I like this hotel because they have a restaurant and bar, a small but decent gym, and the hotel and rooms are clean. Since I generally go back to my room in the evening to work, I prefer room service. This hotel has excellent room service, the food is good and the customer service is above and beyond. Ron is amazing, he always makes sure that my food is well prepared and offers great service. The only reason I rate this hotel a 4 vs a 5 is because of the front desk service. Although they are kind, I constantly have issues with the billing with fees that don’t pertain to me. Overall the room service and cleanliness is enough to keep me booking there. You can either park at the hotel or across the street at the parking structure. There’s train noise at night but it doesn’t bother me.

Location is good, good customer service.
However I was not satisfied with the rooms, for the price the rooms it has no small fridge or microwave which was very inconvenient. I had to go to the main lobby to use the microwave and on top of that the coffee machine in the main lobby was out of service....The air conditioner in the room was not working properly. They said it was working fine but it felt stuffy and not well ventilated. Could not sleep because of the poor air quality.
Unfortunately I won't be staying here again.

The front deskstaff was friendly and check in was easy.
The heater didn't work properly, I had to get up twice in the night to turn it up.
There is no fan in the bathroom.
You have to pay extra for parking. I had gotten my parking stub stamped and paid for inside the hotel. When we tried to leave, the machine tried to make me pay again. Thankfully, you are able to call the hotel from the machine, and they opened the gate for us.

Feedback Regarding Recent Stay

Dear Management,

I wanted to provide some feedback regarding my recent stay at your hotel. While I appreciated the helpful and friendly demeanor of your staff—from the valet to the front desk, housekeeping, and breakfast buffet team—there were several issues that detracted from the overall experience compared to my previous visits over the years.

Upon check-in, I was informed that I had been upgraded to a different room. However, the room was located near the train tracks, and we could hear the trains approximately three times each night during our stay. On the first night, we noticed a very strong smell of cigarette smoke coming through the vent, and the hallways were quite noisy with loud voices during the late hours.

The second night brought additional concerns. The toilet would not stop running unless the handle was pushed all the way back up—a discovery made only after enduring the loud noise for some time. Additionally, the heater in the room was exceptionally loud, sounding similar to a semi-truck running inside the room. It was so loud we turned it off the first night but it was freezing in the room. The body wash was missing from the shower, the water took a long time to warm up, and I noticed what appeared to be foundation or makeup rubbed on the sliding door of the bathroom. I tried to clean off most of it.

Another issue was the significant condensation on the windows, which seemed to contribute to visible mold around the window frames. The windows also appeared to lack double panes, as outside noises were easily audible, further impacting the quality of the stay.

We considered requesting a room change but, due to our tight schedule, decided against packing and moving the next day. Our room, 701, was unfortunately near a stairwell that was frequently used by individuals yelling and screaming throughout the night, particularly on Friday and Saturday. Although I realize this is likely due to other guests, additional security or monitoring in such areas might help mitigate disturbances.

While the lobby remains bright, clean, and welcoming, the room itself felt outdated and musty, which was disappointing.

I have been staying at this hotel for 15-20 years and was pleased to see some familiar faces among your staff, including the valet gentleman that might have a Russian accent and recognizable dark circles he’s always had. His consistent dedication to service over the years was a highlight, and I ensured he was tipped well.

Unfortunately, the combination of the room’s location, noise levels, maintenance issues, and overall condition has given me pause about returning in the future. Should I consider staying again, I would request a room on a quieter side of the hotel, away from the train and disruptive guests.

Above all, my main concerns were the loud guests throughout the night in the hallways and stairwells, as well as the strong smell of cigarette smoke.

I could have contacted the front desk about these issues during our stay, but I simply didn’t have the energy to do so each night after driving many hours all week to come see my family for the holidays.

Thank you for taking the time to review this feedback. Your staff’s hospitality was truly appreciated, but I hope some of these concerns can be addressed to improve the experience for future guests.

Great location. Plenty of things to do within walking distance such as great restaurants and movie theater. We had a room on the top floor, the view was amazing. Room service was great. The bar downstairs is fantastic. My only complaint would be the loud trains that pass nearby in the night.
