I should have read the reviews before booking. You get what you pay for. For a single night, mid-week stay, this was alright for the price. Unfortunately I did not realise that smoking rooms are still in existence and the room smelled like a 1980's Bingo Hall. The room and bathroom size was adequate and simply appointed. Noise transfers easily between neighbouring rooms.||Service was friendly although the $100 surprise damage deposit was unexpected; a refund was provided a day or two later. This should just be a pre-authorization and not a full charge.....||The bathroom extras were fine (towels, toiletries, presentation) although the bathtub had several hairs missed by the cleaning staff. The bed was clean although a very small stain was evident at the bottom end of the sheets (nothing terrible).||Complimentary breakfast was simple and adequate for the price. Toast, cereal, instant oatmeal, simple tea and coffee, juice. No fruit or milk alternatives.||I will pay more attention to reviews when booking economy hotels in the future. Air BnB has competitive options in the region.

Made a reservation through Expedia three weeks before arrival. Had a death in the family called the motel and they told me to call Expedia. I called Expedia and then called my credit card company. Finally Expedia sent me an email and I called explained why I wanted to cancel, they said it was up to the motel. They said(the motel) they wouldn't cancel.
It is two weeks before the reservation.
I would not recommend Days Inn at Mt Vernon wa.

It was reasonable as far as it was a place to sleep indoors. It’s not up to date, not beautiful, and shows it’s age in the furnishings and carpets. Yes, there were tiny sugar ants, but they only come out if you drop food in the ground.

However, we needed a place to sleep. We needed shelter from the cold, and this place gave us that. We are grateful for that.

Wyndham should be ashamed of their lack of attention to this hotel. We were on the road during hot weather so looking quickly online while driving for a hotel with an outdoor pool. Didn't read the reviews before checking in assuming that being a Wyndham hotel it would be good. The lady at the front desk would not match the online price so we ended up paying more than was advertised on Booking.com and way too much ($170 cdn) for this establishment. We tried booking the room while standing in the lobby to get the online price but couldn't get wifi service and the front desk lady would not budge on the price even though we showed her the online price on our phone. Fortunately our room seemed very clean which is the main thing (compliments to the cleaning staff for that) although as others have mentioned, it smelled almost overwhelming strong of cleaning products. One of our bedside lights was broken and yes, the weird aluminum bed bases which make a loud noise when bumped. But it was the pool that was the most disappointing. Again it seemed to be clean which is most important, but it was clear no other care has been taken in the outdoor area for a long time. No lounge chairs, peeling paint, dead plants and weeds in the garden, discarded bricks (see the photos). For the cost of some paint, flowers and lounge chairs, the outdoor aesthetic could be vastly improved. Sad that at one point in time, the outdoor area was probably quite lovely but now totally neglected. |The complimentary breakfast was very minimal. |On the plus side, the bathroom towels were nice and thick and we enjoyed dining at the Mexican restaurant attached to the hotel. But we would not stay here again or recommend this hotel to anyone.

Absolute disaster. Will never come back here again.

This was the worst places I've stayed at in a long time. The hotel is very old and dated. Rooms are small and very very basic. There is a single, barely accessible outlet on a wall to plug in phone charges, i.e. not enough outlets unless you've got just one phone. The bathroom is so small, that you can't open the door unless you're standing and straddling the toilet, or squeezed yourself to one side of the toilet. The room walls are so thin, that we heard TV (it was not playing at loud volume...) in a neighboring room all night long and a conversation in the other. The free breakfast consist of an English muffin, toast, apple and a banana. All served in a nook near registration desk. To add insult to injury - they require a $100 "damage deposit" which they promise to refund within 5 business days. This is the fist time ever I've been asked to pay this charge in addition to whatever room reservation charges were.

I would not recommend this hotel It is in poor shape, no continental breakfast. The rooms are dark and dreary, my room had a water leak hole above the bed and bathroom was not easily accessible. This hotel is not what they advertised

The pictures on line are nothing like the facility, terrible front reception area is combined with breakfast area. Breakfast was cereal toast only grape jelly and coffee. As in picture there was no fruit, no pancake machine and no refridgerator with items in. 3 old tables with no napkins on table and if you came down later in morning you have no place to sit and eat. We went to Denny's around the corner to get a proper breakfast. Doors stay open all night and strange looking people make themselves comfortable in the chairs at the tables. Lamp switch fell off when tried to switch on. What a joke never thought Wyndham would have their name associated with this piece of crap.Nobody at reception we had to call to get someone to check us in never saw a staff memeber behind desk all 3 dayws there.

Location is good. There's tons near by to the hotel that you can easy access by walking. Barbers, groceries, etc. Unfortunately that's all I can say good about this hotel. I was charged a $100 damage deposit for some reason. The bathroom was really small. There were ants in the sink. One of the beds we had was still dirty. There was dirt on the sheets of the bed. I could keep going. I have lower standards when it comes to hotels. I understand not everywhere is going to be amazing but this was lower than low.
