Hi, I took a lesson on Saturday at Crystal Mountain with Nathan, and unfortunately, I had a really frustrating experience with him. From the start, he seemed to prioritize the students who picked up skiing quickly, only assisting them while neglecting those who needed more guidance. He justified this by saying it was to keep things “fair,” but honestly, it felt anything but fair to those of us who were struggling to keep up.

Instead of ensuring everyone was on the same page, he would move on with the faster learners, barely checking in on the rest of us. At times, he wouldn’t even wait for slower students to rejoin the group before continuing, and he never made an effort to gather everyone before starting new instructions. It almost felt like he was running two separate lessons—one for the students who were naturally picking things up quickly and another (or rather, no lesson at all) for the rest of us.

The worst part was toward the end when I told him I needed a five-minute break. He told me to stand in a certain spot and wait for him, but he never came back. He just ended the session without saying anything to me, which was incredibly frustrating. I was left standing there, unsure of what was going on, and eventually realized he wasn’t coming back.

Overall, the experience was disappointing, and I felt completely overlooked. I wanted to bring this to your attention because it really took away from the learning experience, and I hope no one else has to go through the same thing.

The resort itself is beautiful with mountains covered in snow.

Lovely views if the weather cooperates, the food at the top was pretty good as was the service, and it's got lots of challenging runs and fresh powder!

However, $140 for an afternoon is pretty wild. It can be a long wait on the shuttles as well, so factor that into your timing for the day. I went on a slow Thursday--I can't imagine what fresh hell this would be
a weekend. But I had to give it a try

This is my first experience of skiing at the Crystal ski resort, and the impressions were very pleasant! The slopes are well prepared, and there are tracks for any skill level - from beginners to experienced skiers. The staff is very friendly and always ready to help.
I especially liked the infrastructure of the resort: the lifts work without delays, and in the rest areas there are cozy cafes with hot drinks and food. The equipment rental is high-quality and modern, which made skiing even more comfortable.
The nature around is simply mesmerizing - the views of the snow-capped mountains and forests are breathtaking! This place is ideal not only for sports, but also for enjoying nature.
I can't wait to come back here again and I recommend this resort to all lovers of winter recreation!

This place definitely has a big mountain, Snowbird/ Jackson Hole/ Big Sky type feel terrain wise. The snow, though, is wetter and heavier than what you'll see in Utah, Montana, or Wyoming. Also, there are only a couple of restaurants and hotels to choose from here at the resort, although the base village is brand new and beautiful.

In any event, if you live in the Seattle area, Crystal Mountain is a home run place to ski, but if you're an East Coast skier, I'd say there are other Rocky Mountain Resorts to visit first before you would consider making the journey all the way out here.

We went up to Crystal mountain to use the gondola. It takes you to the summit. There is a restaurant there and a place to hang out and take in the scenery. The gondola is pretty quick going up and down. Overall a nice day and beautiful place.

What a warm, welcoming place and staff. Very relaxed and friendly toward our Labrador. We had a great time hitting the slopes knowing he was safe in the room and we could check on him whenever we needed. Also enjoyed the charming, retro touch of getting to borrow DVDs from the front office at no charge and free teas available.

The parking on weekends is a bit crazy. If you want to be there at opening, or for first lift you need to arrive much earlier than expected. Often there can be a line to get into the parking lots. They really improved their lodging though and food choices and have a really terrific coffee bar that opens early. I do believe they could have made more room for indoor eating at the base lodge though. The ski patrol is top notch with a paramedic on the hill every day. The ski patrol are incredibly skilled and terrific people.

Ski in location and 5 minute walk to Gondola. Connected to Alpine Inn Restaurant, Snorting Elk Bar and Deli. The base is a ghost town by 5 so it’s nice to have the only apres ski close by. Room is cozy and bed is comfortable, WiFi was reliable so no big deal there are no TV’s. I’m there to ski anyway. Front desk checked in daily via text. Would stay there again for sure
