Crystal Cove is a one of my favorite getaways. This time I enjoyed a few nights in the recently opened 11B "Crow's Nest" which is a studio-style room above a larger guest house. The doorway enters into the bedroom area which has a decent amount of storage but not a closet. There is a small step up to a living area including a bay window cozy enough for 2 and a little dining table. The small kitchen with windows looking south and west has a full size fridge, toaster, microwave. Dishwashing soap and paper towels are provided. Plenty of towels are provided but bring your own toiletries. Since I was staying a few days, I brought a mini-kitchen: cutting board, knife, bowl, coffee cup, two kitchen towels, silverware and several Tupperware. I enjoyed watching the crescent moon sink into the sea while sipping wine in the nook. This little cottage is just right for a romantic getaway or solo restorative trip.

It's a great place to visit. Parking is $15.00 per day. Bring your food, your drink, water, and beach umbrella. Enjoy, and have a great day.

Horrible customer service. I had stayed here a few years ago with my children. I knew it was a long shot but it took a lot for me to come back here today. I went into the office and watched "Vera" be over the top to the customer in front of me and the male employee came out and helped the man behind me! I only wanted to check for cancelations and I probably looked sad as I was recently crying thinking about my daughter who passed in March during childbirth. When Vera finally acknowledged me she definitely changed her friendly demeanor. She made very little eye contact with me and was rude.
I have never posted a negative review.
But I feel I needed to today. Damn those people for making me feel like a second class citizen when I was grieving. I will never go here and I hope no one with a heart ever will. Shame on you for catering to "certain customers" Vera and Crystal Cove Cottages. You have ruined a memory and hurt and already grieving mother.

Beautiful part of the coast, quaint, renovated sea 'shacks', restaurant food is very good, ocean views and night time ambiance are great. Seaside firepits and dinner packages are online as well.

The Cottages at Crystal Cove in Newport Harbor, California, offer stunning views that are truly breathtaking. However, several significant drawbacks make the overall experience less enjoyable.||Positives:||The View: The coastal views are absolutely stunning and provide a serene and picturesque backdrop for your stay. This is by far the best feature of the cottages.||Negatives:||Parking Situation: The parking situation is a major inconvenience. You have to park at Los Trancos and schlep all your gear down to your cottage, which is not fun, especially when you have groceries or luggage. Moreover, you are not allowed to drive down to the shuttle drop-off site to unload passengers and belongings, making every trip to and from the car a hassle.||Ants: Plan for ants. It’s not a question of “if” but “when” they will show up. This is a persistent problem and, at this price point, frankly unacceptable.||Cottages: The cottages are a step up from camping, but not by much. Considering the cost, one would expect more amenities. There are no stovetops or dishes provided, so you need to bring everything you might need or plan to eat out for every meal. The cottages are sparsely equipped despite having ample cabinet and counter space.||Beds: The mattresses seem ancient, perhaps from the 1930s or second-hand from the California State Penitentiary system. They are super thin, uncomfortable, and very small, providing a poor night's sleep.||Water Issues: The water was turned off overnight for two nights in a row, once without any notice. This was extremely inconvenient.||Window Problems: On our first night, the windows couldn’t be closed because they were so rusty and stuck in place. Maintenance did come the next day, but their solution was to remove the rusty hinges and put signs on the windows saying, "DO NOT OPEN." Not exactly reassuring.||Parking Pass: Ensure you display your parking pass at Los Trancos. Reversing an incorrectly cited parking ticket is a nightmare. The park rangers are not helpful, and making a call to resolve the issue does not work.||In summary, while the views at The Cottages at Crystal Cove are spectacular, the numerous inconveniences and issues make it hard to justify the high price point. Know what you’re getting into before booking. The price does not reflect the expectations you might have for your stay.||PS: Be meticulous about displaying your parking pass to avoid any unnecessary hassles with parking tickets.

Love this beach is going on my top favs.. parking is 15 all day and a shuttle 2 dollars takes you down to the beach. Ocean was easy access restrooms and food available as well. . Will definitely be coming back.
