Pretty good hotel. Checks all the boxes. Central, clean, decent amenities and nice staff. Parking will cost you $25. Seems like the going price for all the parking areas in the neighborhood. I found he rooms were clean and we slept soundly. Quiet time starts at 10pm so found the place pretty peaceful. We were able to walk to the boardwalk and down Pacific Avenue to shop. Very pleasant stay. Will come back.

The hotel itself was generally pleasant, but there were a few notable issues during my stay. A private event was held in the only bar on the property, which I found somewhat unusual, as Marriott hotels typically provide conference rooms for such gatherings. Additionally, I was informed by the staff that the valet service was at capacity and was directed to find street parking. Considering I was traveling with my wife and 8-month-old son, having to walk four blocks was quite inconvenient. As an elite member, I also expected a late checkout, yet I was told it could not be accommodated due to the hotel being fully booked the following day. However, upon checking online, I found that rooms were still available. Overall, my experience did not align with the high standards typically associated with Marriott, and regrettably, this will be my first and last stay at this particular location.

My boyfriend and I had the opportunity to stay at your hotel for two days, and we found the experience highly satisfactory. Upon our arrival, Janis was the primary staff member assisting with check-in, and another employee promptly joined to provide support after arriving late. The check-in process was efficient, and we encountered no significant delays.

We were impressed by the quality and cleanliness of the king-size room. The mattress provided exceptional comfort, and we enjoyed watching football on the flat-screen television. The shower design was particularly favorable, given the absence of a shower curtain, and the restroom offered ample space for our use. Additionally, the couch featured a built-in charging station, and the central piece of furniture was sufficiently large, allowing us to stretch out comfortably. We also appreciated the proximity of the ice machine to our room.

However, we noticed that the valet service was slow, with a parking fee of $25 per night. I recommend the hotel consider offering self-parking options to enhance guest convenience, especially since we had to park my car twice due to the busy valet service.

The on-site restaurant provided a pleasant dining experience, and the food was notably enjoyable. I ordered the flatbread pizza while my boyfriend selected a hamburger with fries. The menu would benefit from featuring additional options to cater to a broader range of preferences.

In summary, we left the hotel with positive impressions and are likely to return in the future. Thank you for hosting us.

The location and staff was great. The bathroom had hair on the floor and the tub upon arrival. Everything else seemed ok. Breakfast options were expensive, but probably expected for a tourist area. The valet and security was exceptional.

We stayed at this Courtyard property during our visit to the Santa Cruz Boardwalk with the kids. The location was very convenient, just a few blocks from the boardwalk, making it easy to explore the area. The hotel also features an outdoor heated pool, though it wasn’t as warm as I had hoped. The rooms were modern, clean, and well-appointed, providing a comfortable space for our family. The staff was friendly and accommodating, adding to the positive experience. Overall, it was a great stay, and I’d recommend it for families looking for a convenient and comfortable spot near the boardwalk.

I'm being a little generous with the rating as I felt this hotel was a little on the sterile side. On a positive note, the hotel and the rooms were both very clean. The bed was comfortable in and the amenities were good.
Unfortunately, it was extremely cold in the morning and I could not get the heater to work. When I called down to the front desk, they did not know how to work the controller which resulted in us just being super cold in our room.
We were excited to use the jacuzzi at this hotel but found out that they did not put one in. It does have a heated pool but no jacuzzi.
The overall style of this hotel is beautiful on the outside. I just felt that they could have done a little bit more on the inside.

🙃 I would have liked to give them a full 5 star review, but I can't.

Don't get me wrong, it is a nice place and very convenient, but two things stood out to me:

1. Access to your room/suite is via a pass-card (which is fine). Unfortunately, I discovered that the card reader mechanism on the room entry door(s) are battery powered. If you haven't already guessed, the batteries on our door lock mechanism died. I discovered this at ~ 6am one of the mornings we were, after going outside for a smoke. Quite unfortunately, the service staff, who can get you back into your room in an event like this, don't start their shift until 9am. So, yeah, I was stuck sitting in the lobby for three hours, like some jackass bum, in my pajamas🤪🤐.

2. They are clearly understaffed, and the staff that they do have are worn-out enough that they just don't give a shit. Seriously. Even at the bar/coffee bar.

While being locked out, I went to the "bar" as soon as it opened to get a cup of coffee. I explained the situation to the staff person on duty, and... nada. I literally had to charge a cup of crappy coffee to my room.

I booked an event space and a room for the night so my review is in 2 parts:
Working with the staff on my event was wonderful. They listened to everything I wanted, and needed, and were so accommodating. They went above and beyond to make sure my LGBTQIA2S+ event had everything it I had requested, and more. They were communicative, thoughtful and professional. We had 150+ people in attendance and I have gotten such great feedback about the event space and the staff.
I also booked a room to stay in after the event. The room was very clean and comfortable! The front desk staff was helpful and knowledgeable, and so nice. The extra security needed to access living spaces by using your keycard was an extra level of safety I appreciated. Everyone I spoke to was kind, from the valet workers to the maintenance crew. We also loved being so close to the Boardwalk and were excited to be able to walk over and play at the arcade in the morning, before heading home.
I will definitely be suggesting this hotel to people I know who are coming to visit.
