What a place and what kind people! If you are ever close to the Country Bed and Breakfast in Shafer and looking for a place to stay in the North of Minneapolis , ask here for a bed in the cosy old farmhouse, that gives you an impression of the Swedish immigrants who came to this place long time ago. And on top: enjoy the rich homemade breakfast in the kitchen of the old farmehouse of Kaye, the friendliest host we met on our roadtrip from Minnesota to Washington State.
We had two realy outstanding nights at the place this summer and whenever we come back in the region we will knock on Kaye’s door.
Every room has it’s special old countryhouse charme and is in a very good and clean shape as well as the bathrooms.

We absolutely loved every bit of our stay with Kaye! We had delicious breakfasts and wonderful conversations! I would absolutely recommend anyone stay here for a quiet getaway! Close to many wineries and shops, it was a perfect weekend trip!

Country Bed & Breakfast is a lovely place to get away and relax. The proprietor, Sally Barott is welcoming and very knowledgeable about the area. She takes great pride in offering a Swedish country breakfast and sharing the home where her Swedish ancestors lived. Sally seems to know when you need peace and quiet, but she can also "lend an ear" when you want to chat. I don't know if she makes Swedish egg coffee for everyone, but if she has a pot brewing be sure to enjoy a cup!

We absolutely loved the Country Bed & Breakfast! Sally went above and beyond our expectations, she really takes pride in her family home. If you're looking for a quiet, peaceful getaway, and a new experience this is a true bed and breakfast you have got to check out. We stayed in the Lavender room, and would love to come back and stay in the Green room. The country house really feels like home, or a trip to Sweden, totally uniquely vintage. We are also Vegan and Sally was accommodating with a delicious Vegan breakfast meal. The house is minutes from Franconia sculpture park (we were here for a wedding), also nearby is Downtown Taylors Falls, St. Croix Falls, Wild Mountain, and Trollhaugen. We will be back!

I've been visiting Country B&B in Shafer, MN for about 10 years. I've gone by myself, with my husband, and even friends and family have joined me there. No matter what time of year, its wonderful. I'm always made to feel comfortable and at home. The location is great - Im close to everything...including Wisconsin where I go and visit family and friends. I fly in and out of Minneapolis/St. Paul International airport. It's a traditional Swedish farm house, the rooms are comfortable, their breakfast is amazing...not your typical B&B food. Sooo delicious! The hostess, Sally, caters to your every need. I highly recommend Country B&B in Shafer, MN.

Excellent place to stay. Kaye is gracious and will feed you very well. We had a wonderful weekend with our family and friends when we were in the area for a wedding. Very comfortable home. You will want to come back again and again.

If you are looking to stay at the most wonderful bed and breakfast, stay with Sally! She is the most amazing hostess! Her homemade breakfasts are to die for! Do yourself a favorite and request the Swedish breakfast! Yum! Our room was a lovely space to relax and rest up. Stay here! Will be going back soon!
