Contrarian Gaming Cafe is simply amazing!
Years ago, I used to commute to Portland and I would stop in to Off the Charts out in Gresham. They were famous for having Will Wheaton state that they were the “best game store around.”
I think Contrarian lives up to that mark. The owner is very friendly and he is happy to talk to you about all things board game related and beyond. They have great prices on their food and their coffee is some of the best in town. Once I asked the owner if they had any Sun chips, a week later he had ordered some just to make me happy. It is a step above style game store that you go to if you want to build awesome memories.

What an amazing place! Contrarians is the game store we have been needing in Vancouver. An amazing selection of games, but more importantly places to play them and spend time together. What a gift to the community! Plus having a library of games to play in store is awesome! Thank!

What a fantastic new place for lovers of board games! We came for the afternoon and tried a new game from their sizeable game library (Horrified), while drinking coffees. We tried the game again after ordering some delicious pizza and chicken from the Mighty Munch Mtn next door. Ended the evening by purchasing our new game at a great price! Highly recommend!

Contrarians has such a welcoming environment. Drinks are delicious, food is great, staff is so friendly, and there is always a fun selection of board games available from the in store library. My sister in law and I come in regularly and always find something new to play.

It’s so nice having such a warm, welcoming, friendly third space in the area, Contrarian’s is my new favorite place to be!

There are regular events to keep things exciting, and staff has always been so kind to me and everyone I’ve come in with. I highly highly recommend coming in for a sweet drink and relaxing day of gaming!

Great place in Vancouver to relax and play some board games! The owners are really nice and it is a great place to buy some board games while having a nice cup of coffee or tea!

I highly recommend bringing some friends over here to try out their instore board game library! They have a huge selection of games and there are a lot you can try before you buy as well. The staff was very knowledgeable and i was looking for a nice little 1-2 player board game and the staff as well as the owner Keith helped me choose One Deck Galaxy. It was a fun complex game to learn and i had lots of fun playing it 🙂 Either way if you have some free time i highly recommend checking this board game cafe in Vancouver out as a nice place to just chill and have fun whether alone or with friends!

Cozy! Knowledgeable! Kind! It’s been hard to find Prismatic Evolutions or other Pokémon cards at MSRP and this store is kind enough to offer them with a limit of one item per person. Great selection of cafe drinks and food. Spacious seating and tables for playing games with your pals.

This is a fantastic friendly neighborhood game store! A wide variety of gaming from card games to board games to games that are really hard to describe.

The coffee is awesome, and if you ask nicely they even have the white coffee which is smoother and extra caffeine kept behind the counter. The egg bites are good with the ham and cheese so you can get snacks that aren't all sugar like candy bars. Friendly owner and friendly staff! Also, you can just come in and enjoy your coffee you don't have to play games! And if you want to play games and don't have your own and they have a large game Library where you can borrow their games while you're here. Top Notch and excited to welcome them to the neighborhood!

Imagine a family friendly, calm environment with kindness at the forefront. Well, it's a reality! Contrarian's Game Cafe is like no other gaming shop I've been to. There is a free game library to play if you need a space to just hang out and try out games. And, Not only is there a board game selection I haven't seen elsewhere, all of their stock is very reasonably priced. Very relaxing environment that isn't overstimulating. Also has lots of mini paints! Support your local shop and come here! Watch it grow!
