It's hard to drive through San Anselmo without stopping at Comforts Restaurant, so when I had to head out to the Gravel Ridge Quarry to drop off a whole slug of blasting caps to the Rounder boys, I stopped in for a quick bite. Man-O-Man those country style potatoes with the sausage sure hit a homer! They were better than any I've ever had. ☆☆☆☆☆

Good small but really well displayed shop.

We messed up and got the to go food. It was really good but had to warm it ip(on us). The dine in had a very long line, small outdoor and indoor seatings

High quality reasonably priced proteins. Amazing tuna melt.

It was a zoo. They gave numbers, but it was like a mob of Baby Boomers trying to get their chicken ceaser salad before everyone else. Imagine being at the NYSE, but it's food... $2.50 for a mini cupcake also seems very high...

They have THE Best Chinese Chicken salad ever! I love the almonds - it blends so perfectly with the whole salad! Definitely would buy again 😊

Ive been a long time customer of Comforts for 25 years+, went through the pandemic and remodels. Have provided Chinese Chicken salads to my family and friends. Today I bought 6 bottles of dressing and one chicken salad at a register at which I asked for a roll. Cashier said she didnt have any rolls but I could pick one up at the other checkout. There were 10-15 customers in line with numbers. I quickly asked for the roll and was told I'd have to get in back of the line because they are no longer complimentary, Im guessing. I wish I could have retrieved my tip from the first transaction to pay for the roll at this point. It was embarrassing as I got the evil eye from both customers and employees after having spent $75 there. I said "forget it" and left. I admit Im not in the best frame of mind because my niece's house just burnt down to the ground in Altadena and I bought the salad and dresdsngs for them as they are staying nearby now. Just saying, beware Comforts dont provide rolls with a large salad anymore and the service has gone downhill imo.

We locals call the breaded chicken cutlet pieces "Crack Chicken". You'll see. The asian-inspired sesame chicken salad is legendary. There are lots of other inspiring and delicious items on the menu. Including the pre-made and to go sandwiches. One of Marin's finest lunch eaten or take out establishments.

Weekdays, open til 5 pm.
On Sat, the store closes at 3 pm. Be there before 2:45 pm.

This is the best place to get Chinese Chicken Salad on hot summer days. During summer months, they sell 800+ Chinese chicken salad.

Personally, Comforts Chinese Chicken Salad will be my deathbed meal as I crave for every few weeks especially on too hot to cook summer days. The big box (looks like Chinese take out box) of CCS will feed 2 adults for dinner.
They have marinated tofu (replace chicken) for Vegetarian salad. We often get Tofu Chinese salad for friends practicing Halal or Vegetarian.
If anybody is allergic to sesame seeds or almond, you could ask one the staff to make those ingredients separately packaged for you, then they will make a new box of salad without those ingredients but on the side (in a ziplock bag) to take home.

The restaurant has 2 different areas. One area is deli/take-out counter service area with some round tables and to the left of the entrance there’s a sit-down waiter-service restaurant with a patio sitting.
