Comfort Inn & Suites Sequoia Kings Canyon exceeded expectations with its clean, spacious, and comfortable rooms. The welcoming staff, especially Ms. Emily, made our stay even better. The 24/7 reception ensured seamless check-in and check-out. Ample parking was a plus, and the location near Sequoia and Kings Canyon was perfect. Breakfast could be even better with simple additions like sautéed mushrooms and cucumber, offering more variety for those who prefer lighter, less sweet, or meat-free options. Highly recommended!

Everything was great 😃 clean room, friendly staff, best location! All the breakfast options. Breakfast was hot and ready! Check in and out was smooth. The only thing was there was not a lot of parking. Thank you for a great stay! 🙏

Mixed Feelings About My Stay

The room was spacious and decent, no complaints there. However, breakfast was a complete letdown. The eggs tasted like they were made from powder, no fruits or vegetables were available, and the bacon didn’t look appetizing. The only decent option was toast with butter—hardly a satisfying breakfast. Coffee was forgettable.

To top it off, the jacuzzi was closed “due to the season”… in winter, which is exactly when you’d want it. Doesn’t make much sense.

They start knocking at the door at 8:00 for maintenance. Check out is at 11:00.

It was cheap in comparison so there are 3 stars.

We stayed at the Comfort Inn & Suites at Sequoia Kings Canyon, and I cannot recommend this location. While the staff was friendly and helpful, the property itself is full of misleading advertisements and poorly maintained facilities. Here’s a breakdown of our experience:

1. EV Charging: They advertise EV charging, but it’s over 70 cents per kWh for slow charging—a ridiculous rate that feels exploitative.

2. Pool and Hot Tub: Both the pool and hot tub are advertised but were inaccessible. Our key couldn’t unlock the gate, which was secured with a thumb scroll wheel latch.

3. Extra Charges: They initially attempted to charge us extra for having a 1-year-old and toddler, but the staff promptly called management and got those charges waived, which we appreciated.

4. Room Condition: The room was in terrible shape:

Paint sloppily applied over hinges and latch plates.

Large ceiling cracks suggest current or past leaks.

The door had clear evidence of being kicked in, with damage past the security latch.

The toilet was running continuously when we arrived. My wife had to remove the back of the tank and adjust it herself to get it to stop.

The shower water never got hot, barely reaching lukewarm.

The shower head was installed so low, it barely reached the center of my back, and it was so full of lime and scale buildup that it sprayed everywhere—including out onto the floor past the curtain.

The heater, set at 68°F, blew constant hot air earlier in the day, making the room unbearably hot. In the middle of the night, however, the room temperature dropped below 60°F, and my wife had to turn the HVAC off and back on to get it working again.

The clock was flashing the incorrect time, likely from a power outage. While not a big issue on its own, it added to the overall negative experience.

5. Breakfast and Room Key Issues: Breakfast was pretty standard—bacon, cereal, waffles, and such. However, after breakfast, my room key stopped working as I tried to make my way back to the room with my hands full. The staff was friendly and quickly fixed the key for me, which I appreciated.

While the staff did their best to assist us, the issues with the facilities and overall quality of the hotel made this an unpleasant stay. For the price we paid, this experience was far from acceptable. Unless significant improvements are made, I strongly advise staying elsewhere.

This is an excellent place just outside Sequoia and I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. Great breakfast with bagels, waffles, fruit etc. The room was comfy and warm but we could hear our upstairs neighbour stomping and next door's TV. Although everyone seems to go to bed early so not a major problem. The laundry room is cheap (total of $3.50 for washer and dryer). The negatives were no fresh towels with room keeping service and also the staff seemed a bit miserable, with the exception of Emily who was amazing! Shout out to Emily!!!

The staff was friendly at checkin and helpful with questions. Rooms are clean, beds are firmer than I prefer. We stayed in a handicap room which had very little counter space in the bathroom. The location is great for visiting Sequoia National Park.

We stayed at the Comfort Inn & Suites near King Sequoia, and it was a great choice! The hotel is super close to the park, which made it very convenient. Everything was very clean, and the breakfast had lots of options to choose from. The pool was amazing, especially at night when we got to enjoy the hot jacuzzi—such a relaxing way to end the day! Highly recommend staying here if you’re visiting Sequoia National Park!

Staff was friendly and understanding. Rooms were in such bad shape I was debating taking photos. Everything is extremely outdated, huge crack in between egress door and floor/ground, you can hear everyone around you, all fixtures were so old and gross no amount of cleaning could make them look better, pillows were extremely flat. I expected a little more since I paid $269 for two nights. Plus dog fees which are just outrageous put me at $469. Choice hotels, please reconsider pet fees and spending customer money on updating your facilities.
