What an amazing experience we had at the Choctaw Lodge and Retreat. Six of us (three couples) spent the weekend and had a wonderful time. First of all, it is a beautiful location right on the river, with tall trees, a quiet setting, and beautifully decorated accommodations. The rooms are well equipped with everything you need to prepare and serve a meal. Little touches like a coffee maker WITH filters and WITH coffee, fire pits WITH firewood, gas grills WITH full propane tanks, made the weekend very enjoyable.

The location is suitably remote, so we planned to cook our dinners and had a picnic lunch on the river. Well equipped full kitchens and full sized appliances made this very easy. Dining alfresco in the pavilion was just lovely. Breakfasts were served by the lodge and were ample and thoroughly delicious.

As nice as the facilities were, the staff was over the top! Friendly, kind, helpful, great communication, and even helped out when we realized we had forgotten a few items by helping us get replacements. Abigail, Emily, and Elizabeth took excellent care of us during our visit, even supplying the kayaks, PFDs, and perfect weather for our 20 mile kayak trip down the Choctawhatchee.

The only aspect of the entire weekend that wasn't perfect was that our hosts, Ron and Kathryn, were traveling out of the country at the time of our visit. They were very generous with their photo books of their previous adventures and we enjoyed reading about some of their travels, but we did miss meeting them in person and hearing some of their stories first hand. I guess we will just have to schedule another visit!

What a beautiful property on the river! This bed and breakfast is a hidden gem. My family wanted to visit all of the Springs nearby and this location was perfect for us! It's only a quick 20 minute drive to several Springs near by. It's also only 30 minutes from Panama City Beach. We weren't expecting to spend as much time, but once we arrived and realized how beautiful the property was we didn't want to leave! it truly is a top notch retreat. The breakfast each morning was outstanding quality and presentation as Catherine is an amazing chef. The hosts were so friendly, accommodating and hospitable. They even took us on a boat tour of the river. We will definitely be back! Highly recommended.

What a stunning view!! This adorable immaculate home is right on the river. Ron and Kathryn were superb hosts, we felt like we were leaving family when we left. The Breakfast is really something to look forward too. The fishing is great and the springs were spectacular. We can't wait until we can go back.

Family reunion time. Fantastic place to totally relax. I mean relax.. So happy to meet Ron and Kathryn, plus Bodie and Miss Annie. Gracious hosts. Lovely well stocked homes to rent. Wonderful location. Some family were local but we drove from Texas. Well worth the drive.

Hospitality at its BEST. My family and I enjoyed everything about this place! The breakfast was by far, the best EVER..The presentation was EVERYTHING. This place didnt miss a beat. The houseboat tour was very relaxing. Enjoyed our conversations with Kathryn and Ron. They make you feel like family..? 10 stars for this bed and breakfast!?

I had my doubts because of the crazy long drive off the main drag to get to this place but they really shined! My sister and her new husband chose the right place to have their wedding and I am certain all of their guests felt the same way as the night progressed. The owner of the establishment even offered complimentary shuttle service for those who had to park down the road due to limited space. The property was like a little piece of heaven beside the river. They really proved themselves to all of us and I really appreciate them making her special day one that would never be forgotten.
