Pulled in for a night’s sleep. Pit toilets, coin-operated showers, plenty of room for my campsite. The tent sites are not tucked in to trees; they are exposed.

If all you need is a bit of sleep, it’s perfect. If you are looking for a scenic, cozy place to hang out for a few days, not so much.

I don't know what we would have done without the kindness of the staff at the Chicken Gold Camp!! We had the misfortune of totalling our motorhome 13 miles from Chicken on August 7, 2024. We were only able to get out of the motorhome with the clothes we were wearing. Strangers gave us a ride to the campground and the staff loaned us their satelite phone to contact our insurnace company and a tow truck. |Luckily, we were able to rent a cabin there for two nights to wait for the tow truck to arrive (next day). We enjoyed our visit with the friendly staff and were thankful for the restaurant where we could eat our meals. |We will always remember everyone's kindness to us in this terrible time.

A clean and quiet campground. Bathrooms were messy and extremely small. The shower was $1.00 per minute, and the water was warm at best. The staff was friendly and courteous. The location is a goldmine. There is a bar nearby, and the bartender was fantastic. We believe he made the stop worthwhile.

We had a great time in the camp last year. The problem is that all the services are very restricted. When you arrive you find out that they ask you not to empty the tanks or fill up the water unless strictly necessary as its a remote location. Its understandable but should be advertised more clearly while booking trough the website. Then the wifi pass means its 100mb use, which will last 5minutes, and also is not advertised (or not very clearly). And then for the shower you have to pay, so at the end we didnt get the services that we expected. Other than that The gold panning experience was a lot of fun, the man in charge gave us a really good explanation on how to do it and he was so nice to us that was enough to overcome the inconveniences.

Perfect place to camp if you visit the Top of the world highway.
We drycamped here without electricity or water.
It's more of a big parking lot, but you have your own space and picknick table.
During our stay a lot of gold miners were staying here. Bit loudly sometimes but okay.

If you want, and there are enough participants, you can visit the dredge on their site.

Well-kept campground, especially the outhouses:)) Delicious baked goods and sandwiches. Amazing showers...so hot and such a strong stream! Definitely a worthwhile stop!

This is a good sized (70 +/- sites) RV Park that not unlike most in AK & Canada is a gravel parking lot with hookups. We had reservations, and were warmly greeted and assigned our site. The electric only gravel spots are mostly level off gravel access roads. The electric hookup was convenient and functioned properly. No cable tv, no OTA stations, but a big sky for satellite. No cell service, but their included WiFi was good - always providing a service that was useful. They have water available, but we brought enough for a night - they have a grey water dump, but like our trash we took it with us when we left. It is nice they have a modest restaurant, and a well stocked gift store with all things chicken. I also thought it was a nice touch that the common gravel walkways were freshly raked in the morning.
