The Chestnut is more than a restaurant even though the food is absolutely amazing! Verona has created an atmosphere of pure joy & expression. A place where kids ( and adults ) can be creative through art, music, and truly be themselves. There is no other place like in on earth. Words will never do it justice, you have to experience it for yourselves. Guaranteed you will leave with a full stomach & heart, a happy soul, and memories that will last forever. Amazing service. I felt as if I were home with friends and family to have a meal. The food was excellent too. All very fresh and a large selection (especially for such a small local place) and constantly changing menu.

We found this lovely place looking for coffee on Google Maps. What a surprise to find this unique in Hinton. Frist off the owner Verona ,wanted to know all are names and where we can from. All the food was freshly make. They even make thier own Mayo and Mustard and sauces. The Vegetables are garden fresh. The four of us all had something different and they were all outstanding. This is truly a must stop. We stopped by the next day on the way out of town. Greeted by out names as we walked in. Also were asked about the people that were with us the day before

On the corner of Summers and 4th, nestled in the heart of Hinton, lies a gem worth exploring. Veron and her staff have done a phenomenal job of recreating an eclectic slice of Louisiana. She treats each customer as an old friend, taking time to recommend what you should try from her Creole and Cajun inspired dishes. I have travelled across this country, from East Coast to West. I have seen many restaurants that claim to be Louisiana inspired, only to miss the mark by many miles. Chestnut Revival will give you a taste of Louisiana in West Virginia.
Veron carries her attention to detail forward not only through her cuisine but also through the atmosphere she has cultivated. Gazing at the art and collections across her restaurant will keep you entertained and amused.

Took the Fall Autumn Express Train ride into Hinton. Decided to try this place because it had great reviews and we were not disappointed. Ronna was delightful and everyone working there was busting their butts to make sure all the patrons got their food as quickly as possible. They were all friendly and attentive. The food is super fresh and very tasty. It is seat yourself and space is limited but there is also seating outside. You order at the counter. I had blackened shrimp salad and my husband had the ham and swiss. Both were so good.

I've been visiting Hinton a time or three each summer for the last eleven years, and I think it's fair to say the town appears to have had more than it's fair share of hardships, which makes for quite a few mean mugged folks walking the streets and sometimes running the stores.

Chestnut Revival is not new to the town, but it's new to me, and it couldn't be further than what I've come to expect --- Some of the most friendly people you can imagine inviting you to pull up a chair and have some delicious food that they're really jazzed to be preparing.

There is art everywhere, formal and informal; books to read if you want, like Plundering Appalachia; little things to wonder about all over the place.

It's a place that has tentacles shooting out every which way. You get the feeling they know everybody's name. It's a piece of a growing part of the town that's changing my perception of the whole area.
