Great stay! Clean, good breakfast, parking garage convenient and close. I’ve stayed at other hotels in Charleston and the parking has been an issue, parking and walking at night is a big deal for me and this felt very safe and close. The only negative is slow elevators, but honestly not a big issue, they are just old (but they work!!).

Hotel needs upgrade. After the first desk clerk (at Bonvoy desk) check us in to a two double bed room (reserved a king) went back down and the other clerk very nicely provided the proper room. |Concierge was closed. There was a concert at civic center and it seemed the hotel was understaffed. |Bartender was very nice. Food so so, breakfast buffet was so so

This Hotel was once THE hotel to stay in Charleston. The location used to be good when the mall was busy, however, the area near tbe Marriott is littered with the homeless which is sad. And the mall is all but extinct. Hotel staff was super friendly but I had issues with the hotel. The club lounge closed for the holidays which is understandable, but my whole family was able to eat breakfast with the club lounge access. The days it was closed they only allow two people to eat. I had 4 in my room. That wasnt a huge deal. I used suite night upgrades that I saved for this trip. (I know theyre not guaranteed) but I was told because I brought my dog I had to be on a certain floor and wasnt allowed the upgrade. They charge a pet fee of $100. In my opinion if theyre charging a pet cleaning fee you should be allowed in any room as that fee should cover the cleaning of any room. We wanted the bigger room because we have a bigger dog. Also they have all the rooms set to a seasonal temperature. You cankot control the rooms from the room itself. Its set on “winter mode” right now and the heat it on. I hope you like the room super hot! I had to have the maintenance shut off the unit andnopen balcony door which was a nuicance but it worked. Also, the key cards are so sensitive we got one use per card meaning I had to get a new key card made everytime I went in and out because it never worked a 2nd time. This got super annyoing getting a new card everytime. They really meed to upgrade to keyless. The floor we were on had carpet so old and messed up it was bunched up in the hallways. One could easily trip on this. I gave this 3 stars because location is still good for downtown charleston and it has notalgia, however, Id recommend four points or even Embassy Suites even tho I am brand loyal to Marriott.

Positive: It?s close proximity to the concert venue. Negative: $15 parking, $17 per person breakfast, got 2 double beds instead of 1 king and 1 double as advertised, they charge for wifi use, the wifi is incredibly slow. Everything that was advertised in the listing was incorrect. I wouldn?t have booked this hotel.

We were in town for the WV Youth wresting championships and when we arrived we learned that they had overbooked their hotel for the weekend and had to change our room, but it was an “Upgrade” to a king suite. Sadly it was not an upgrade as we had 3 adults, 1 child and an infant in our room, so we did need our double queen room. They had no issues with getting us two roll out beds so we could make do. Unfortunately they were having some other issues with hot water tanks and AC. Our room was so hot the second night that we opened our balcony window because they had given out all the fans the day before. They did comp our parking and give us free breakfast, so I guess it worked out.

I must say I'm a bit disappointed. Never had an issue there before. Had trouble keeping room warm. Had to put thermostat on 80⁰ to maintain 70⁰ in the room. Front desk staff member less than accommodating. Not what I expected from a Marriott hotel. Have stayed there many times before without an issue.

The main lobby was very nice, room was a bit dated, tv was small but overall no complaints other than the balcony that you cannot access. The shower water pressure was amazing!!! Parking was $15 and the restaurant was pretty decent!

If you're used to staying in nicer hotels, don't stay here. The room was clean but dated. The only hotel I've stayed at in years that had a shower curtain and shower floor stains. Smelled highly of bleach which I guess means it was clean? The king bed and room portion was actually fine, but the bathroom was 2/5. Hotel as a whole was dated. You pay for parking, but the location is good. We didn't eat but the drink menu was like a college bar menu. The bartender was super nice though.
