Always loved this park, it's always been really nice and scenic with hiking trails and great for dog walking. I had band camp here, took pictures here every year, been to the arts and crafts fair here, and it's always been near and dear to me and my family. Quiet and peaceful. The ONLY suggestion/complaint I have is the lack of fencing. If there was an area to let dogs off-leash in a 5-foot-tall fenced area, this place would be MORE perfect. Walking your dog is nice, but having a fenced area for them to frolic and play in would be an amazing addition to the park.

The grounds are kept up nice. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The putt-putt area is very clean and well kept. The playground is well kept. Bathrooms were clean. The covered bridge was an interesting addition with cool history to read about. The lake itself was less than expected and not nearly as large as we had hoped.

This place is great and we visit every time we’re in town. The historic structures are well maintained and the grounds are kept beautifully. We just recently discovered the hiking trails and I caught a few fish as well. This place is a local treasure. The website could use some more information but I trust that if you just head on out and ask anyone there, they would be more than happy to point you to what you’re looking for.

I was there for a writers conference and stayed at Holt Lodge. My room was dated but very clean which was a nice contrast to regular hotels I've stayed in recently. The rooms are in the process of being updated. The grounds were impeccably clean. Other groups were there enjoying the lovely place.

I have stayed there twice and found it clean, comfortable and very close to restaurants. The second time was our family reunion and we had almost the whole second floor to ourselves. The oversize room refrigerators are a wonderful extra that helped us keep drinks and food cold. We had everything we needed and would go back in a heartbeat.
Our families took advantage of the disc golf course, which was pristine and a lot of fun!

Bed has skid marks and sheets were used and ripped . The carpet was nasty . Our tv was not set up right … there is proof
Of smokers being in the room but the rooms are non-smoking rooms & it smelled like BO and disgusting.

Great place for get togethers, reunions. Good prices for good accommodations. Helpful and friendly staff. Beautiful scenery. Only complaint is that some other guests poured grease down their sinks and now we aren't allowed to use a stove or hot plates to fix our meals. They do offer their own dining hall where you can purchase meals. They offer putt-putt, paddle boats, and fishing. Their swimming pool has not been open for several years when we're there on Labor Day weekend. Overall, it's a great, relaxing atmosphere and I highly recommend it.

On the surface this property appears to be very well managed. But once you look closer you start noticing the faults. The most egregious thing I noticed was that all of the signage was unlevel. There appeared to be no rhyme or reason to the placement of signs on post. Some were a quarter inch from the bevel and some were multiple inches down. Not a single one was level.

All it takes is a level, tamper, and a shovel. Very simple fix.
