It's one of my favorite cafes on the East Coast! The atmosphere is so cozy & inviting. I want to stay long after my meal is gone. They have a lot of gluten-free options and the best coffee options! I have been over 6 times & everything I've tried, I loved. Their gift shop is adorable & I find myself browsing every time I'm in WV. (I live in GA) Thank you so much!

The Cathedral Cafe is a must-stop if you're in the area! We popped in for a bite before heading out to hike, and it was the perfect start to the day. The Gorge Omelet and breakfast bagel were both delicious, but the real star was the hot chai latte—it was hands down the best I've had in a while. I loved how they served it in quirky mugs, adding a fun touch to the experience. The ambiance is unique, with beautiful stained glass windows that create such a cozy, welcoming vibe. Our waitress was attentive and had a friendly smile, making us feel right at home. If you're looking for a great breakfast spot with fantastic coffee and a cool atmosphere, this place is definitely worth a visit!

Y'all every time I come to WV, no matter where I ALWAYS have to make a stop here. Their food is amazing. The flavors are great, the dishes are creative, and their coffee beverages are straight gas. The inside is so cozy and feels like you've been entered into an another dimension.It's so relaxing and if I could, I'd spend all day in there. Everything is made fresh and with love, everyone is so nice and welcoming. Seriously, if you've never been it's a WV staple for sure.

Really cool spot that from the second you walk in you immediately understand why it’s rated so highly. Really unique interior, with both cool and cozy vibes.

Latte was massive and really good, and the breakfast bagel sandwich was exactly what I needed before a day of hiking. Would happily come back!

I asked plainly “is the tofu scramble gluten free?” and the person taking my order slammed her hand on the table rolled her eyes and said “but it doesn’t even have gluten in it!!” And i said how am i supposed to know gluten could be in anything like a sauce or a seasoning and she was extremely rude. She was young and had mid length straight brown hair. I then received my tofu scramble and it was not tofu scramble but plain cubed tofu with an unknown sauce on it that looked like soy sauce (which unless made gluten free has wheat in it) and it was bad. This is not tofu scramble. Google what tofu scramble is and not a single picture will look like that. Its mashed tofu with turmeric and other seasonings. Thats the definition of tofu scramble, meant to look and taste like scrambled eggs. I paid 14 dollars for poorly seasoned cubed tofu. One of the worst food experiences i ever had. And i walked out of there with a stomachache so no i don’t think they know what gluten is or good service.

Cathedral Cafe is a must-visit! Their coffee is truly some of the best in WV—my husband is a bit of a coffee snob and absolutely loves it here. I’m more of a matcha girl, though, so I’d love to see them add it to the menu to see their take! They also have a dog-friendly patio, which is fantastic, but be aware: this place is popular. Parking can be a challenge, mostly street parking, so plan ahead.

Last time we went, they mentioned it could take an hour for food, but ours came out in just 15 minutes—maybe we lucked out with our order! The croissant French toast is incredible, and their bagels are consistently good too. The prices are on the high side; almost $40 for two drinks and two coffees feels steep, especially for WV. That said, Cathedral Cafe’s quality, cozy ambiance, and friendly staff make it worth the splurge.

My sister and I stopped in here for lunch because they offered both vegetarian and gluten free options. We were blown away by the quality of the food. The staff was friendly, the atmosphere was great, the food and drink options were amazing. This is a must stop if you are in the area.

Great place to stop when visiting New River Gorge! Delicious latte and bagel breakfast sandwich. Also have a cute shop!
