Wow 🤩 this trip with Captain Gary was the highlight of our 3 weeks in Alaska & west Canada. Cpt Gary worked hard to get us to places to see two bears on the shore, humpback whales fluking under a rainbow, stellar sea lions & sea otters 🥰 His boat is newly fitted out inside with large windows & comfy seating, everyone has a view. We loved the max group size of 16. We loved this trip so much we’ve booked again next year. Thanks so much Captain Gary

Had an incredible adventure with Captain Gary Late September! He was able to help us see some of the most beautiful parts of Alaska as well as get us on numerous whales, 2 bears, otters, and harbour seals. Captain Gary and his cousin provided the tour for us and were both very friendly, professional, and overall gave us the best experience possible. His Ship was beautiful, comfortable, and yeah, 5/5 stars wow wow wow!!!

Booked with Captain Gary for a whale watching trip for full family and grand child on our first trip to Alaska. We could have not been more pleased. Seen many whales, whales at full breach, coastal brown bears, stellar sea lions , seals and Bald Eagles. Overall a great trip with beautiful scenery and Captain Gary was very informative making for a great trip. Definitely would recommend.

The Sitka by Land and Sea Combo was by far one of the best excursions I had on my cruise. The land adventure was great and we were able to see so many aspects of Sitka by Land. It was so cool to see and meet some of the bears at the Fortress of the Bear and The Raptor Center had some pretty amazing raptors. There is not much time to spend at each location but honestly it the right amount of time. The Fortress and the Center are not very large so really do not need a ton of time to go through. Once the land was done we were whisked off to the boat and Captain Gary. This is where the real fun started! Captain Gary is awesome and he made sure we were able to see whales, whales and more whales. Gary is so engaging and fun. We also were able to see otters, and sea lions. It was a beautiful afternoon and we had the best time on the boat. If you are looking for an excursion and want to make the best of your time in Sitka I recommend this excursion without hesitation!!!

Captain Gary made our trip to Sitka unforgettable. We had originally booked with a different whale watching company but sadly it was canceled due to “bad weather”. We got lucky during our visit and had cloudy/sunny skies all weekend so we were unsure why we got canceled on the evening before we were supposed to be going out. We called around several places last minute and found Captain Gary.

Our trip was for my birthday and I’ve always wanted to go whale watching. Gary took time out of his day to take my sister and I out for a whale tour and I am so thankful he was kind enough to do so, the experience was incredible. You can tell Gary has a strong passion for Sitka and these whales and we loved all of the knowledge he shared with us. The overall environment of the trip was amazing! We saw several gray whales, humpback whales, sea lions, and sea otters. I am so happy we found Captain Gary’s whale tours and when we visit Sitka again we will be sure to always book with Gary.

If you are reading reviews deciding on who to do a whale watching tour with I highly recommend choosing Captain Gary, you won’t regret it.

Lovely sightseeing experience with Captain Gary himself! He drove us around town and gave a great history lesson. He loves Sitka and has so much to share! Enjoyed Fortress of the Bear, Alaska Raptor Center and the Sitka National Historic Park in our three hour window. Captain Gary was prompt and friendly! He dropped us off downtown and made suggestions of places to see and eat. We caught a free shuttle back the port. Not booking through the cruise line saved us money and allowed us to support local tourism! Huge thanks to Koali too for going above and beyond to reach out and keep us informed. Thanks for a great morning in Sitka!

There are not enough words to accurately portray the beauty of Sitka and we are so glad we chose Captain Gary to be our tour guide. We were traveling with a group of 14 and we were more than comfortable and had a lot of room to move around on the boat. We were late getting into port due to weather and he met us at the dock to make sure we didn't miss anything and had enough time to explore. He was knowledgeable, personable and truly wants the best experience possible for his guests. We saw gray whales, humpbacks and minkes along with seals, bald eagles, and otters. The only thing missing was an Orca but not for lack of looking... One can dream! 10/10 recommend Captain Gary. Thank you for an experience of a lifetime!

What an amazing day! Booked our adventure back in August 2023 as an excursion while on our cruise to Alaska, the best decision!
Capt Gary was personable and took time to get to know all 16 of his passengers, which most tour guides don’t. The tour was amazing! We saw sea lions, sea otter and my favorite, the gray whale.
