I recently visited the New River Gorge Canyon Rim Visitor Center, and it was a fantastic experience! The center was incredibly clean and welcoming, offering a great first impression. The gift shop was well-stocked with a variety of souvenirs, making it easy to find something memorable. I was also able to get stamps for my National Park Passport, which was a fun bonus.

One of the highlights of my visit was the educational area. It provided a fascinating look into the history and wildlife of the region, and I learned a lot about the local ecosystem. But what really made the experience stand out for me was the lookout windows and porch. The view over the valley and river was absolutely breathtaking, and it was the perfect place to relax and take in the scenery.

Overall, the New River Gorge Canyon Rim Visitor Center is a wonderful spot to stop by if you're in the area. Whether you're a nature lover, history buff, or just looking for a peaceful place to enjoy the outdoors, this place has something for everyone. Highly recommend!

Beautiful visitor center with some amazing views. There are also a couple of short trails with overlooks to the gorge and bridge. Small gift shop and knowledgeable rangers. This is on the same road as the Bridge Walk location.

Nice and clean visitor center with a ton of information about the nature in the area and a great overlook of the gorge on the south side.

Outside the entrance you can find a short walkway to an amazing overlook of the iconic New River Gorge Bridge.

You can also get your passport stamp and Junior Ranger badges here.

Wonderful spot with multiple scenic view points. The visitor center is one of the best to guide for visiting the adjacent famous spots. There are park benches available in case anyone plans to have a break with food.

Fantastic visitors center with an overlook, recreation information, a gift shop, and history exhibits. I would definitely recommend a visit if you’re in the gorge, even it’s just for the gift shop. The overlook boardwalk is a nice little walk and a gorgeous view. The workers there and very kind and informative, willing to answer all your questions from local history, recreation sites, and environmental science.

We are driving from Ontario to Florida, try to find a warmer winter. This is our second day trip. We take a rest and have lunch here (Here don’t offer lunch, we bring food by ourselves) This is a valuable place to visit, because you will able to see the biggest arch bridge in west hemisphere, and will be shocked. If you have enough time, you can drive all the way down the hill and see the best view of the bridge on the bottom of the valley, but because we have to go Charlotte today, we need faster time, so we just directly drive across the bridge after. I can imagine how difficult to cross the valley if this bridge don’t exist, so thanks for the builder of the bridge, which makes convenient for our road travelers

This is where the money goes in this national park. A very nice building and the rangers here had excellent hiking recommendations and plenty of maps. There is a small museums and movie theater with lots picnic tables as well. The audio driving tour is cool to go to for the drive and to see the bridge, but the audio is old, really old. Most of it is about directions but if you are driving the road you might as well listen to it. I highly recommend the national parks app, it was incredibly helpful. Most of the trails were on google maps as well, but they weren’t labeled.
